Yeah at this point they're pretty sure the Autobots are not to be trusted to take care of them when it comes to stuff like that tongue

At least Rink and Lecht might possibly find allies that would be less difficult to deal with

...okay, um, just had a thought here:

City 17 is St. Petersburg. Mobile Leprechaun said that in a post.

Hell's Gate Tokyo is presumably Tokyo.

Now, St. Petersburg has an area of 566 square miles, and Tokyo has either 884 or 5240 square miles, depending on whether or not you count the metro area or just the metropolis.

Now, this looks pretty good. We can assume not all of Tokyo was taken with Hell's Gate Tokyo, but above just the metropolitan area.

Ikebukuro is the problem. That's a neighbourhood of Toshima, which is a district that encompasses five square miles. And it's nearly as big as Tokyo.

TL;DR: Scale be fucked harder than it is in Transformers.

It's generally accepted that only a chunk of the cities have been taken, not the entireties, each of about appropriately similar size. We've never agreed on a scale, however. I doubt any of them are 566 square miles.

Perhaps we can assume that the Cure bent space time somehow to shrink the larger chunks while simultaneously retaining all their features?

Realistically, Mata Nui would be like the size of Madagascar which isn't the case here.

Well, if we're talking about scale.

Folkestone Air Base is a Channel island base that's mainly a big HQ building, some smaller building and a runway. Mata Nui is a 489 km long and 243.86 km wide oceanic island with a thousand inhabitants spread across six settlements with surrounding landscapes.

On the map, you can fit all of Mata Nui on Folkstone.

I'm not complaining, I just find it funny. tongue

Don't go thinking about scales too hard, because any objection you raise I will respond to with some variation of "Blame the local reality warper."

Honestly, it's a miracle that we have a functioning day night setting on this planet, let's not start asking more questions.

Yeah, logically speaking the Forbidden City (when it gets in) would be a fuckhueg chunk since it's the capital city of an interstellar nation. So I think we need not worry about scale here.

@Economy discussion:

Meanwhile, the Cappies' economy is getting better all the time and they're getting worryingly assertive both close to home and abroad. Also they're pouring millions into everyone's infrastructure projects. tongue

Theoretically, Battleworld can fit on an asteroid and shouldn't have the amount of gravity it has.

I think I'll have Q complain about all this, but Bond won't give much of a shit.

Phh, all of the next day Q and the Hell's Gate scientist are going to be interrogating the Cure about how the hell everything works in a logical sense and won't buy it when he says "I warped reality, it's not going to make sense.

Q and Dr. Shroeder are going to be best friends. #The New Science Buddies!

@Meanken: Are Vergil's "two more strikes" the same as the first, or is he doing something different?

@Echo: I haven't replied to John or Marcus for two reasons: Director Horai left a long time ago and is probably kicking the Saturn Ring trying to get it to work again and I don't know if Misaki should say something because their chunk has been essentially forfeited and I don't know if they're still on Battleworld. Have any suggestions?

Actually, Q isn't a field agent. Unless you break into Bond's room and get past his sicknasty defences (a mannequin dressed as a Mariachi with an automated machinegun inside), no-one's probably gonna talk to him but Bond.

Right, I remember. I'm just having trouble picturing where that would fit in a lab. Like, there's a gleaming white, sterile laboratory, and then off in the corner there's this completely incongruous little dining area with a coffeemaker and a cabinet full of foodstuffs.

The Cure organizes a meet-and-greet in the Common Room when things are going a little too well, ideally when everyone's in the middle of something.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back. I thought you might appreciate this chance to get to know your fellow priso-guests better. Changing rooms are available for those who were in the bath, and refreshments will be served as soon as Messrs. Bloodflag and Joseph have released each other's throats.
