The anime was replaced on Disney XD a few weeks ago. I don't know if the rest of the series can survive this in America. It has no anime and almost no new merchandise. For a Merchandise-Driven series, that's the end.
Hopefully the fourth game gets translated. Maybe it can popularize the series. It is on the Switch and has a different style, so maybe people will give the series a second glance. Yo-kai Watch: Shadowside could also be more popular than the original anime thanks to its emphasis on action and its Darker and Edgier tone.
They actually put Jibanyan's humanized design in 4. Apparently the game is getting paid DLC too.
Jibanyan has a human design?
From the new movie.
He looks kinda like Silver.
So everyone, how's Yokai Watch 4 for you so far? You enjoying it?
The combat reminds me of the Monster Rancher anime.
For context and more info on the DLC.
Yo-kai Watch 4 is being localized and there are plans to release the unreleased Yo-Kai Watch films in English
Good to hear!
I'm regretting not buying 3 when it was new. I figured it'd be one of those games that would be lying on shelves for months and quickly go down in price. Since 3DS is dead, I figured I'd wait until games got cheap and then buy several discount games at Target or Game Stop. But I'm hearing Yokai Watch 3 had a short production run in America. Many stores only got one or two copies and it's already starting to sell for high prices online due to its rarity.
Most games at the tail end of a console's lifespan go for a lot because not a lot are made. I still regret losing my Shantae cartridge :(
Damn, that's the one I'm most interested in.

Online it's going for 70-100 dollars.
I'm watching a playthrough of 4.. I know you can choose both Nate and Katie's names at the start, but can you play as Katie from the get-go instead of Nate? It feels weird seeing Nate with the Yo-Kai Watch after playing as Katie in previous games.
Yo-kai Watch 1 Gets Nintendo Switch Version In Japan The Day The Switch Lite Releases
Yo-kai Watch 1 for Nintendo Switch announced
We kinda already knew about this, but this is an official confirmation.
Yo-kai Watch 4 version 1.30 update trailer
Nice to hear the first game is getting a Switch version, but I probably won't get it; the later games have so much more content compared to the first that I can't really go back to play the first game at all.
Still, hope that many new players end up picking it up.
YW 1 seems like a weird choice. It has a lot of Early Installment Weirdness from before the games began taking from the anime. I prefer YW's style; I hated how the later games tried to make everything like the anime, instead of being like Pokemon and keeping the two continuities separate.
The trailer for Yo-kai Watch 1 for Nintendo Switch has been released;
It'll release in Japan on October 10th and be compatible with Yo-kai Art and DX Yo-Seiken toys. It'll also get a new Yokai named "Ikakamone Gichou".
Huh. They made the final boss of the first game befriendable? Interesting.

I wonder if a Switch port could help the series' popularity internationally. The Switch is earlier in its lifespan than the 3DS was when 1 was localized. If only they could reboot the Thinly-Veiled Dub Country Change.
