Nope, I agree. Normal liv looked to generic "successful beautiful girl" like. But maybe that was the point.

You lost! That reminded me- In the scene where Liv "wakes up" in the body bag, her hair is half-red, half-white at that point. Thought that was kind of weird- I guess at that moment, the "zombieism" hadn't spread completely?
I kind of wondered because my sense is that Liv's family must think she's dyeing her hair and wearing makeup, right? Otherwise, they have a strong Weirdness Censor.
We Are With You Zack Snyder
When she was at the grocery store she was buying tons of fake tan spray while she purchased Night of the Living Dead.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureSome scenes she's "Pale, but within human norm" other scenes she's "WTF, alabast", and yes, it's probably supposed to be down to bronzer use. If so she's quite skilled at it - as in, "Evenly applied, and used lightly" but that makes sense. Lots of practice. I'm crushing waay to hard on this show for just a pilot. It's almost painful that I can't bingewatch it.

I get it. After I watched the pilot I thought it was okay, but after a few days the withdrawal kicked in.
Man, couldn't someone have pirated that?

You lost!Something interesting I just learned which I wonder if it was deliberate:
I liked the Chet Baker music playing the in episode, and so I looked him up. He started out as this very promising young musician who had "matinee idol" looks, but he ended up as a severe drug addict and basically lost everything.
Seems relevant both for how Liv's life fell apart and in terms of Blaine's ties to drugs and addiction.
Eh.. a lot of people are calling Peyton judgey.. Uhm.. Remember pre-zombie Liv? The Razor-focused aspiring heart-surgeon? That is the person who became Peyton's best friend, room mate and all round boston spouse. And she is a prosecutor.
And she was in a depressive funk for *five months*. Leaving people who want that alone after a traumatic event is actually best practice (Mandatory counseling was tried. It leads to higher rates of PTSD), but if they're not getting better after this long, a nudge is in order.
Given all that, she's being astonishingly restrained. Bordering on mushy. Her ex-fiancee out and out called Liv a pod person, Peyton helped her hang the painting.
Do your friends never call you on your shit or something? Isn't that part of what friends are *for*?

That's the thing. I'm not so sure Liv has any shit that needs to be called on.
Peyton keeps talking about how Liz is just laying around, but it's not like she quit her residency. She's still working, still paying for her half of the apartment. As for hanging the painting, her expression there was more like "What a waste of time".
She just seems more interested in criticizing her than actually being her friend.
On the one hand, I definitely got the idea from the first episode that Liv was not the most pleasant person to be around over the proceeding months.
On the other hand, I also think it's important to note that Liv doesn't seem to have been the most pleasant person pre-zombification. She was annoyingly perfect to an extent that she just avoided being unlikable, but the stuff Major says in the second episode of her disdain for art doesn't paint (pardon the pun) a totally pleasant picture. Liv's roommate was friends with his person, which says a lot (in a similar way, Liv's mother is rather obnoxious and we are probably to understand that the old Liv was more on the same page than the new Liv is).
On a related note, as one review I saw noted, part of the message of the second episode isn't just that Liv is trying to live despite being a zombie; it's also that in some ways she's more alive now than when she was actually alive.

Nah. She's got some mad eyeshadow game going on that I'm not actually sure is eyeshadow.
