Did he confirm or deny Material Design? Because Material Design is basically a Google thing and that has some interest implications about what this line is supposed to be if Google is involved.
Also it again supports the device being based on Android (I never believes the denial of the device being Android based if only because Nintendo similarly denied the existence of either the 3DSXL or the D Si XL before it was unveiled)
At this point I'm suspecting NX isn't simply two systems with common architecture (handheld and console) but more of a hardware/software platform for Nintendo to build software and devices on. Wouldn't surprise if Nintendo's already planning out phones and tablets on the platform.
If it does end up being Android based (I'm not writing it off but it's up in the air at this point) it's gonna be a Kindle style deal where Nintendo creates their own Android distro because their not the type of company who'd open themselves up to an outside platform like that at all.

The NX Ninjas are swift and ruthless. They have no ruth at all.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectWell sure, it's just business after all.
But when it comes to a new console you want to keep some things close to the chest.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Project'Stealing our ideas' is probably a cover, I agree, but you never know.
If I'm reading that Neogaf thread right, apparently ND As are so tight you have to go through a four step process just to see the darn thing.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectWait, PS 4/XBONE > NX Handheld. What kind of sorcery is this?
Give Cthulhu some tea and those tiny sandwiches, trust me he loves them.Didn't it say that the dev kit software demands are comparable to the best gaming P Cs and that the handheld is the only one people are getting dev kits for?

"But now we come to the interesting thing: According to him, NX is a portable device and a home console. There will be two different devices, the handheld and the home console, the first one will launch in late 2016, while the home console will probably launch sometimes in 2017. They only recieved dev kits for the handheld as of now."
Pay attention to the last sentence.
That's the demands of the dev kit, not the games.
Keep in mind you have to run the dev kit program on top of the game on top of the OS.
Also, that could mean that the dev kit is an unoptimized resource hog with memory leaks.
So yeah, grain of salt and all.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Discussion of the NX requires so many grains of salt that I could fill a swimming pool with all of it and not sink.
Well, I was going for a Dead Sea thing, but I guess I botched it.

And right on cue.
The initial source is a 4chan post, but here is the full post:
But now we come to the interesting thing: According to him, NX is a portable device and a home console. He said they are both different systems but they share the same OS and account system, which makes it easier to him as developer to port games between both platforms. He also said that Nintendo probably doesn't intend to bring all their games to both systems, but he will find out more on this at CES 2016 where Nintendo will show them more of the hardware capabilities as well as the home console.
Now I asked him what Ubisoft Bucharest is developing for the portable NX device and he answered that they are preparing a port of Assassin's Creed Liberation, a Play Station Vita game, for it as a launch title. He said when they were asked by the Ubisoft managers in France what they want to develop they said they wanted to port an Assassin's Creed game to the handheld because they have a lot of experience in porting.
I also asked him what other Ubisoft devs are doing with the new hardware and he said he doesn't anything concrete but Ubisoft Montpellier is probably working on a new Rayman game and Ubisoft Montreal may also work a game. However Ubisoft doesn't work on any games for the home console currently.
He didn't want to say anything about the hardware itself because its specs may vary in the final product
