Is it bad that when they used the Oxygen Destroyer I expected a "That's a lot of fish." reference?
Just came back from the film and I was literally in awe. I loved everything about this movie. Yes, including the humans. Some of the human bits dragged on a tad, but I liked them and got more and more invested as it went on. Feel like I'm the only one who did.
Also, Mothra was literally a perfect angel and I would die for her.

Hollywood wouldn't want that because the idea of people just wanting to see the monsters have characterization without voices would be dumb to them.
Unless the monsters had altered voices of Hollywood actors, then maybe. There were some films that implied the Kaiju could speak, so that could be brought back.
Matt Damon as the voice for Godzilla, anyone?
Watch SymphogearWonder if the Oxygen Destroyer is a set-up for Destoroyah in the future.. After all, King Ghidorah already came in contact with it and Alan and his goonies have the head. All it'll take is some genetic tampering and kaboom, instant Destoroyah, after all, Destoroyah came from the OG Oxygen Destroyer in Heisei.11

It could be that since the kaiju genre has destruction as a large component it could simply be people not being able to figure out why a giant alien beast would come here peacefully.
