Everyone has voted now, with Amp having the plurality, if not the majority. Those votes together tally up to 14.

I'm abstaining. I mean, these are good characters and I can't decide between the two.

No, not every one has voted.

Grim, for instance.

Votes and Abstentions add up to 12 out of 15.

I like how this thread hasn't been up 3 days, yet already has over 200 posts. Just goes to show you how much people love Monty Oum's work. May he rest in peace.

there is 15 votes stormer.

4 teams of 4.

With only one slot left which were voting for.

(4*4)-1=15

Unless the win is excluding abstentions.

The win is excluding abstentions. Don't worry, I can do math.

Just not used to people lowering the "Needed to win" amount with the destinations, since one of them could always decide later.

Well, we've been doing the same thing for every voting we've done for Ultimate, so it'd make sense that we do the same here.

Insano's explanation is that abstentions remove themselves from the voting pool. So yeah.

I think you understand math wrong then.

"[15-(votes + abstentions)]/2]"

The () put votes and abstentions in the same priority, if your removing abstentions you would need to remove votes too, which leads to fucked up tallies.

If you follow his directions exactly, it is 1.5 votes to win, since you cant have 0.5 votes, you round up to 2.

Final Results:

  • Abstentions: 2 (Insano, ZenithBloodedge)
  • Ahyan Shahrazad: 7 (Stormer, Eachiunn, opnerf, Taco, Saturn, Guyshane, Grim)
  • Akiyama Akihiro: 4 (Imca, Aqua, Rhyme, deathpigeon)
  • Remaining Votes: 2
  • Needed to Win: 7 out of 13

Amp wins the spot by majority vote. You have until the first IC post is made if you wish to change your vote, or the results will stand. Sparty will go on the wait list.

@Imca: Insano says that the real equation for votes needed to win is (Total Votes - Abstentions)/2.

Stormer, there is still one more vote.

[15-(votes + abstentions)]/2]

[15-(11 + 2)]/2] = 1

Edit : I call bullshit on changing the equation in a running poll just to bias the vote and sink it for a player just because they have been around longer.

Not going to start a fight over it, but I still think it is a really, really uncool version of Moving the Goalposts

Amp wins by plurality; it is literally impossible for him to lose now.

It was possible for sparty to tie though.

Assuming he got the remaining votes.

Edit : Wait still math fail, it would be 6 to 7, but bleh, still unhappy about this since it really seems like clique behavior to me to change the goal posts on a new blood.

Especialy if you look to where all the votes lie with every one who does not communicate on skype voting one way, and every one else voting another.

Imca, Insano wants you to check the times we've voted in Ultimate, and do the math according to the equation that he should have put up before.

Also, Insano speaks:

"Goddamn, I didn't expect this must trouble to come from [Total Votes - (Votes + Abstentions)]/2] instead of (Total Votes - Abstentions)/2. I don't know what the hell I was thinking when I set up the first one."

If you read my edit, I admit I had a math failure, but I still don't like the clique behavior/voting line that formed.

With every one who communicates on Skype voting one way, and every one else another, it reeks of dirty pool to keep a clique together/exclude a newblood too me.

I am more then willing to move on, but I just want it kinda known that I find this suspicious as all hell, and at least think Sparty should get priority if there is a dropout. :/

Imca, doesn't that make YOU suspicious of also being a clique too? Sounds hypocritical to me.

Don't insult me, or anyone else. I made my decision because I like Amp. I don't care about any stupid groupthink. ALL voting is Cliques. Either you are in the clique for, or the clique against, or the clique of people who are afraid to have an opinion.

You want someone you vote for to win for once? Vote for the winner.
