The Smurfette Principle was dropped, IIRC.

No, you don't need to rewrite it. It may just be a wonderful irony that a sexist country will more or less admit that its women are special enough to attend Beacon. Sexism may be present at home, but in Beacon they're pretty progressive. I'll clarify this all later; just don't change anything about Tsukiko. She's perfectly fine.

Any more changes to be made to the kingdoms themselves before we begin, or are we all good on that front?

Oh god what am I doing send help please
- Name: Akiyama Akihiro
- Gender: Male
- Age: 18
- Birthday: Finem 19
- Race: Human
- Kingdom: Vacuo
- Appearance: The most easily identifiable thing about Akiyama is his hair – it is very, very red. Akiyama prefers a windswept style for it, so that it looks something approximating a blaze burning in the wind (whether or not this is actually successful remains to be seen). Sporting a pair of amber peepers, and darker and thicker skin than most (in a very literal sense - a quirk of being a metalworker and then a swordfighter), Akiyama presents a fresh face.
- Weapons:
- Steelpyre – Akiyama’s melee weapon of choice looks somewhat like a regular odachi – essentially a katana, but much bigger
◊. As if “giant death sword” wasn’t enough reason to run in fear, Steelpyre got its name for its strange and uncanny ability to light on fire on command – which also significantly increases the blade’s cutting abilities.
- The Flyswatter – For ranged combat, Akiyama prefers his specially-built dust cannon – a weapon that fires Dust shells with various elemental effects. While they generally tend to be fire, Akiyama is capable of utilizing multiple other types of elemental ammunition with the Flyswatter.
- Steelpyre – Akiyama’s melee weapon of choice looks somewhat like a regular odachi – essentially a katana, but much bigger
- Semblance: Catch And Release - Akiyama can make a force-field that catches attacks – regardless of whether or not they’re ranged or melee and “hold” their force. When the shield is let go, whether or not of Akiyama’s own volition or because it fails under the weight of rapid attacks, it will reflect the attacks back towards a single opponent – usually much faster than they came. That being said, the shield doesn’t hold up well against explosives and splash attacks, nor can it stay up for very long under repeated attacks of any strength level.
- Personality: Akiyama is generally a pretty easy fellow to get along with, and is mostly chill about a lot of things. I say “mostly chill” because Akiyama aims to be a samurai – and, like all good samurai, he has come up with an honor code: Ken No Keikan. Ken No Keikan states that, if Akiyama is to see any crime being committed, for any reason, by anyone, he is bound by duty to intervene with whatever force he deems necessary – which could be a stern talking to, or impalement with firey giant katana. (Bonus points for anyone who figures out what that bastardization of Japanese translates into). Akiyama is very much someone concerned with bringing justice where it is due through all means, and it is a very heated topic for him. As with all Vacuoans, he is sexist towards women and racist towards Faunus, though if nothing else, it’s less “hatred” and more “general ineffective disdain and mockery”.
- History: Akiyama was your ordinary smith caste metalworker, who grew up with a penchant towards swords, dreaming solely of being able to use them on the battlefield. One day, the Emperor randomly chose a swordsmith to make him a sword – he chose Akiyama. Akiyama’s response, not wanting to fail his Emperor, was to slave over the sword for three full days and nights, stopping only once for nourishment. When he emerged, he presented the Emperor with a sword so immaculately constructed that it was taken as a sign his perseverance should not be wasted on swordmaking. Akiyama became a member of the warrior caste on the spot, where he spent his days honing his skill with swords and becoming an adherent to Ken No Keikan. His skill, dedication, and perseverance have made him a samurai in all but name – and he seeks to correct this.
