^ What do you mean by "yes"?
I loved that bit in "A Nightmare on Killmotor Hill!" where the unicorn realizes that if nobody is around to dream him into existence, Puff of Logic
If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned.I like that they did it mid-sentence. Nice touch.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Do you guys think that Bubba and Tootsie were wasted characters, given that they only appeared in one episode and didn't appeared at all in season 3, despite most characters shown on the poster appearing in season 3 (excluding D'jinn who also didn't appeared but got mentioned in New Gods On The Block), while in the original series were members of the main cast? The same also applies to D'jinn - who as mentioned previously - didn't appeared at all in third season, and only get a brief mention in one episode.

Funny, I think Bubba was better in the original, all things considered. Tootsie certainly was. Turning her into a realistic dino may have been "realistic" and "subverting the cartoony aspect of the character", but she sure was a lot less fun that way.
Optimism is a duty.^ I understand what you said in your post, but I asked you guys if you think that these two were wasted characters. Because for me - who grow up with the original show and considered Tootsie his favourite character (because she is a dinosaur, and I like dinosaurs) - these two are certainly wasted characters.

I think I just answered that. Yes, basically they were. They managed to be less interesting than in the original.
It should be noted that the original Bubba episode was actually quite well regarded. What people didn't like was bringing him back to the present at the end of it. They did get a pretty good second episode out of him eventually though.
Optimism is a duty. It's kinda apples and oranges comparing their 1987 vs 2017 versions. 1987's Bubba and Tootsie were semi-regular players whereas the 2017 Bubba and Tootsie were only one off guest characters.
Well, I wouldn't call them regular. They only appeared very late in the show, and most appearances after that first episode were basically cameos. He only got two episodes that were really about him, if I recall correctly.
Optimism is a duty.^ This is at least something more than just one episode. Even cameos were better than basically not being mentioned at all in later episodes.

The new show is just too busy with big season arcs and such to do that sort of cameo or repeat appearance. The show is generally very wary of repeating itself, even with villains that have canonically repetitive roles outside of the show, like the Beagle Boys and Magica.
Optimism is a duty.^ So because of that we never had an episode where Beagle Boys try to rob the Money Bin, just like in comic books and original series?
Right. That's the Beagle's whole thing, but this show doesn't seem particularly interested in that angle, nor does it seem particularly interested in Magica stealing the Number One Dime, for that matter.
I guess it's another symptom of the show being more interested in Scrooge-the-adventurer than Scrooge-the-billionaire. His traditional rogues gallery all revolve around stealing his money, stealing his money-making mojo, or overtaking him in being the wealthiest Duck alive, and those stories just don't interest the writers of the show that much.
This is why the Beagles more or less fade from view entirely after their introduction, with more focus on Ma Beagle than the group in general, and why Lena exists and all Magica's plots revolve around Lena after her first defeat.
Optimism is a duty.I for one am glad they didn't contrive a way to keep Bubba around. I think this show is at its weakest when it's juggling way too many characters it doesn't have too much room for.
All of my favorite episodes are probably ones just focusing on the core cast.
Yeah, I agree with that, having one-off characters is fine, and the cast is already big enough they don't really need a new character to liven things up.
Opinions are certainly divided on reusing characters with the same basic plot, mind you. Barks loved his fortune-hiding stories, for example, which all had the basic premise of Scrooge finding kooky ways to hide his money from the Beagles, and the Beagles then managing to find and steal it anyway. Rosa hated those stories, he thought they were boring as hell, and favoured more original ideas with the same characters. I think both approaches have their merits and their flaws. Being too formulaic can make stories boring and samey, but being too creative can make a show feel incoherent and directionless.
Optimism is a duty.^^ I don't want to insult you but I think there should have been episodes where secondary characters get a chance to shine. Plus, I hate what you said about Bubba and Tootsie (as I made it clear in my previous post, I would have liked to see them in more episodes than just one).

I don't think this is the kind of show that has room for that, though, it just wants to do too much with its core cast.
Optimism is a duty.At its core, the whole point of the Bubba episode was to push the Louie/Della plot forwards.
Could you have found a way to tie Bubba into the FOWL storyline? Maybe. But I'm not sure how.
^ Maybe FOWL experiments with time travel, resulting in both Bubba and Tootsie landing again in modern day.
Well, that's kind of the problem for this show, isn't it? It insists on tying everything into its overarching plot somehow. That's not great for having one-off standalone characters with their own episodes.
Optimism is a duty.Guys, better you like it or not, I added Bubba, Tootsie and D'jinn to the wasted characters page of the series. I hope that one of you will explain why these three are wasted characters, because I can't find a right words to describe them myself.
Then don't add the entries in the first place, and especially don't comment out and hope other people will fix badly written examples. That's bad editing etiquette.

^ So what do you think had happened to Bombie and Butterbear? Are they living their lives away from humanity (or in this case anthropomorphic animals) or they pose threat to a public?
