That was what I felt as well. But I am not sure if it is just Chole being egocentric or not. You can openly ask Chloe if she had a crush on Rachel, which she doesn't deny but doesn't elaborate further. So possiblities are still open, although I am more certain than ever that Chloe did have a crush on Rachel.
About the ending:
I feel like shit for wanting it to be reverted. After all, I do want so because of entirely egoistical reasons, but now the deed is done it doesn't feel quite right to just "kill" William again. I was glad we saw the dead whales also. For a moment I thought all the weird shit that have been happening would be gone in the new timeline, which would make reverting it even more egoistical.

Well, wherever I thought that was going, that wasn't it.
Really miffed that the plant died. I'm also pretty sure that Chloe was in love with Rachel, even if they weren't actually together, but I think they were. Still messed up that she was with Frank too though, for any number of reasons. I kissed Chloe, but then rewound and undid it (which made Chloe's following line amusing). I'm annoyed that during the final scene I ended up with the "Didn't take a photo in the past" choice, because I did, but then failed to stop William leaving, so rewound to that decision point, but didn't take the photo again. Really bugs me, but I will stick to my results. In a similar vein, Frank still has the gun, simply because I didn't find it.
I also actually laughed when you examine the "Victoria loves the D" graffiti in the locker room, and Max says "It's good to know she loves something other than herself". Max is getting sassy.
Oh, and did anyone else spot the The Thing reference? It might well have been there in episode 2, but I missed it then. There's a card or plaque on the fisherman's table outside the diner, revealing that his name is R.J. Mac Ready.

I have my doubts that Victoria and Nathan will be all that different of people. Its probably JUST going to be people directly involved. Victoria will come across different because she and Max are both in Vortex, not because Victoria was affected by whatever harmed Chloe. David is affected because he was married to Joyce and she's no longer available. Nathan, however, is completely an outsider to that so I don't see why he'd change at all.
And, we know that Max is probably COMPLETELY unrelated to Chloe's crash. I assume its a crash. One of the changed photos (the Birthday one) shows Chloe getting a brand new truck. For a Birthday Max couldn't have been there for.
I'm guessing that the reverting won't last long if Max is going to the Vortex Party in her Timeline A clothes.
Nathan appears to be friendly with Max in the new timeline. I don't expect him to stop being an Ax-Crazy date rapist, but I imagine that Max will have an easier time figuring out just what's he's up to.
So I've finally got a chance to play for myself.
I really love that William Blake's "The Tyger" is on Max's whiteboard.
...I'm not sure why it's there, but.
Also, I'm in Victoria's room, and goddammit she has pictures of Kate at the party.
Also, Amelia Pond works for the Arcadia Bay cleaners. Seems legit.
"I remember when my journal entries were about which anime character I wanted to be." For the love of god Maxine.
Oh goddammit Victoria.
...Vaguely curious how that conversation would be different if I had kept the save file where I blamed Mr. Jefferson.
...Why would a school with freaking stairs up to the main entrances of the school and the girls' dormitory have $500,000 in its handicapped fund?
Like. That's the first thing you take care of.
I think that might be the Principal's booze stash. And considering all the evidence that he's being bribed.
I mean, why does he keep it in his desk? What the heck? I mean, I've never been on the administrative side of things, but that doesn't make any sense. At all. I mean, who raised that money exactly? Where did it come from? Why hasn't he put it in a bank, or a safe, or something?
Does the school not have a treasurer or a finance office?
...Why exactly is "side with David" a choice?
Or, I mean. Why does Max say the things she does? Seems kinda out of character. And Chloe even says so.
Also, why is throwing the bone in the street an option?
...Chloe not having blue hair is wrong and unnatural and I don't like it.
Also, seems like she's on a ventilator or a drip feed bag or something.
Also, is it just me, or could it be Joyce that died in this version of events, what with her wanting someone to take her home and all? Maybe she got mugged or worse or something.
About the handicapped fund, not really. Not a whole ton of schools have that kind of stuff. One school I went to, which was a catholic private high school, had a plywood ramp on one set of stairs. We had an elevator built into the main set of buildings and some other clever non-ramp designs in places, but some areas had stairs with no easy way around and they just put a plywood board over half the stairs when some student got put in a wheelchair and they had to put one up. Its sad but true; things like Handicapped Ramps and etc get brushed under in favor of big projects like pools and science labs and football stadiums.
I at first thought it was his bribe stash too, but I figure we would have been told that before making the choice. Like I said, it feels like A LOT of choices this episode were 'Do you want to be a massive dick?'
I also wasn't surprised it was in his desk. Yes, it doesn't make sense, but for the sake of a choice and downgrading the size of the rooms, it makes sense. Its the logic of an 80s Breakfast Club High School with this game.
There also are a bunch of other things that don't make sense with their school; such as the school bus taking Max downtown like it was a normal Public Bus. We certainly never had that at my high school (Is Blackwell a High School? David mentioned college students when he got back from Blackwell so...) and, while we have buses at my college, the university ones only drive around the University and the Public ones that run through campus actually would go downtown.
I assume Side With David is because shit blows up and he's kicked out of the house, but I'm surprised Max carries that much weight on the conversation. I disagree with the option on the pretense that that conversation about what David has done isn't going to happen without consequences and a lot of confrontation.
I don't think Joyce is dead. We see photos of Chloe's life without losing her father and Joyce is seen a few times and its shown that Chloe got a car for her 17th. I'm assuming she later got in an accident long after Max left.
I just finished and YO WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT
I'm not sure I even have the energy to list the choices I made because fucking shit, man.
... well, I'll mention one. I kissed Chloe. Obviously. That ship better not sink!
... Okay, I'm looking at the choices now. How does Frank get Chloe/David's gun?

"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Okay, just finished...my God, what have I done?
Let's see, choices:
- I stole the money. This was entirely on accident - I was scouting out the choices with my rewind power, like I usually do, when it wouldn't let me go back, for some reason. I decided not to bother reloading, and that I would take the consequences as they came, hoping that they couldn't trace it back to us. Of course, things just got a lot more complicated...
- I had Max kiss Chloe, because I'd really like them to end up together.
- I took Chloe's side. Hopefully, David manages to calm his ass down and get help.
- I didn't hurt Frank's dog, because I'm not a monster.
- Chloe has Frank's gun, carrying over from last episode. This, for me, indicates that something is going to happen with these timelines, whether by reversion, some weird merger thing, or whatever the hell else Max might have up her sleeve.
- Liz died. What, was she a desert plant or something?
- I didn't help Warren with his grades. I'm not cheating for him, and I was sure that would have come back to bite me. I mean, dude has a 4.0, he can take a B-.
- I'm on the Vortex club party list. I'm pretty sure that was from last time, although I'd be surprised if I wasn't on it anyway now.
- I didn't erase any names - didn't know that was an option.
- I erased the cop's message. LEAVE NO EVIDENCE!
- I helped Alyssa. I'm trying to do my best to make up for not being able to help her in Episode 1. She's clearly suffered enough.
- I warned the homeless woman. I had actually been putting together a theory that age does carry over rewinds or something like that, so I was wondering if maybe Rachel had simply traveled back through time and no one recognized her. Granted, this doesn't quite mesh with what we've seen, but what we saw here makes me think that maybe I'm onto something. My point is that I'm wondering if maybe the homeless lady is Rachel - I'm sure that she'll be important somehow, as it's on this list. Also, she knew my name - did I tell her my name? I can't remember...
- I didn't take the photo in the past - I thought I had missed that opportunity, so I ended up missing it for real.
- I left a mark on the fireplace. Don't know what purpose it'll serve, but maybe I'll get lucky.
Some additional thoughts:
- Beached whales aren't that unusual, from what I recall - I believe there's even precedent for several at once. That said, combine this with the dead birds and the rest of the stuff, and it doesn't paint a pretty picture...
- The next episode is called "Dark Room". While this fits the photography theme, it's worth noting that our dear friend Nathan Prescott made that creepy drawing made up of the words (and I'm paraphrasing here) "Rachel Amber in a dark room". Just what does he know?
- So...why is the Vortex Club having an "End of the World Party"? They had that last episode too (not sure if they had it in episode 1). I mean, even if the snow was enough to make people starting thinking that stuff like they were this time, I don't think one day would be enough for the club to start making flyers. Was there a thing happening back in Oct. 2013. The only thing that comes to mind is that Harold Camping guy, but I'm pretty sure that was in 2011.
- A few more references to Nathan's dad. "Sean Prescott"...will he ever make a physical appearance?
- Samuel had what appeared to be a woman's scarf in his pantry. I swear, this guy has got to be a red herring...unless that's what they want us to think.
- I noticed a reference or two to "spirit animals"; that butterfly and doe do seem to keep popping up...
- Is Kate okay?! I'm seriously worried about her now.
- And of course, above all else...who's behind all of this? Why Rachel Amber and Kate? Why Max? Why here? Why now?
If you don't try to shoot him in Episode 2, he'll take it from you. I suppose this episode tries to give you an out by stealing it back?

Oh God! Natural light!@Mukora: If you don't try to shoot Frank in Episode 2, he takes the gun. When you search the RV in episode 3, you'll find the gun and you'll get a major choice of returning it to Chloe (and guaranteeing that Frank learns that someone was in his RV) and leaving it.
Re: Siding with David: I tried that to see what happens (and then I rewound). Max points out to Chloe that they don't have any evidence that David is involved with the weirdness and that they should focus on Nathan. Chloe gets pissed at Max for suddenly supporting David, while Joyce just tells everyone to calm down.
Oh... I think I kinda outed myself there, then.
Honestly, I figured the gun wasn't loaded so I knew I wouldn't actually kill him, but still. Totally pointed a gun at that dick. Also, stole money from the principal, because seriously? There's no fucking handicap fund. And even if there is, I'd rather a couple of students have trouble getting around than Chloe be killed by a drug dealer.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."![]()
Yeah, that was among the decisions this episode I didn't even bother rewinding. Along with siding with Chloe against David and kissing Chloe.
About the money. I didn't took it because, even if it was a bribe, it would still be dangerous to actually steal money from the principal. I think it was a good call, since the police figured out Chloe was nearby at the time. Better make the break and entering seem like dumb teenager having stupid fun than making it a robbery. Also, not sure if Max ever figured out it might have been a bribe. She didn't comment it in her narration.
Btw, where was the homeless woman? I totally missed her. On the other hand I did find the Vortex Club party list, although I did not touch it anyway.

She was behind the diner. Might want to pay her a visit; she's...interesting.
Anyway, I was going through the game's WMG page, and I've got a theory. One question, though: has the instrumental track "Kids Will Be Skeletons" been used yet?
Oh God! Natural light!![]()
Dammit. I was going by this theory on the WMG page:
Listening to the last verse of "Crosses" ("Streets outside your window, overflooded/People staring, they know you've been broken/Repeatedly reminded by the looks on their faces/Ignore them tonight and you'll be alright"), it's very reminiscent of Kate's suicide attempt. The torrential rain seen as Kate runs off crying, the people staring up at Kate and judging her, Kate's expression as she looks down at them—all reflected in the lyrics of the song. What's an instrumental track to be featured in a future episode? "Kids Will Be Skeletons." Perhaps the survival of kids at Blackwell is in doubt.
That said, I think we can still make something work, going off this theory:
But what?
• If it's in the new timeline, Nathan will try to drug Max, if it's in the original timeline, Nathan will turn up and try to start shit.
The Vortex Club party has been built up for quite some time - I'd be surprised if nothing suitably dramatic happened there. And for the penultimate episode, we need something suspenseful, perhaps something that would put all of the students at the party in danger.
Tell me, what was one of the first things Nathan said in the game?
No, I'm pretty sure there was music.
Why, did the lack of music make the scene better or worse?

Oh God! Natural light!

I want them to revert the timeline, but on the other hand this could be an opportunity for Victoria and Nathan to stop being so one-dimensional. Though making Nathan sympathetic at this point would really bother me, assuming that he's still a rapist in this timeline (or that he's drugging girls to rape them and not some other probably sinister purpose).
