Fixit slowly came to his senses, shaking his head as he looked at the fried wall and the still rising smoke.

That wasn't supposed to happen...my TOOLS!

At once forgetting everything else the Jawa darted forward, grabbing up his precious data pad and the lead lines that were unfortunately wrecked. He'd have to replace them! Gah!

Then the Jawa was very curious about what was inside the space. Sure it was mostly wrecked but maybe something had survived!

The sound of the explosion startled Selth but it barely showed, he immediately closed his eyes and let himself feel his way around the ship with the force. To his relief there was only the people who had escaped the prisons that were here, they had not suddenly been boarded. A second or two later he sensed that the Jawa may have been had been injured.

"I think our Jawa friend has been injured. Get to the Engine room."

Uziel was about to make some comment about live bounties, but then a small boom rattled the ship.

"Dammit, I told you we should have gone looking for that Jawa before he touched something he wasn't supposed to," he said to no one in particular. Uziel headed off toward the noise.

Darius sighed and got up, the ship was still drifting. Not much he could do right now.

Down into the engine room he marched, "Fixit what did you do?" the bounty hunter called out.

Fixit would likely be pleased to note that his tools, while scruffed up, were still in a functional state, and the lead lines were nothing he couldn't repair on the workbench. As for the compartment itself, the metalic powders and slag in the locker would probably be useful at a lab station as basic components, or if he put them in his pocket it might serve as an impromptu way to blind someone in a fight, but was otherwise unremarkable.

The locker was intact, though it would no longer actually lock until a new one was installed. But since the actual wall and locker themselves were intact, it could still hold a decent amount of equipment and conceal it - or at least, it would be concealable once it had been hosed off and all the telltale signs of a detonation were swept away.

Likely the highlight of the whole ordeal was that it looked like there were a few credit chips scattered around now that had managed to survive. note

Everyone knew that money was indestructible, after all.

The Jawa was dusting off his rooting through what remained off the stuff in the hideaway, tossing the credit chips over his shoulders as he pulled quite literally everything that had been hidden away out to see them in the light.

When he heard the other escapees approaching he took a moment to switch on his translator. It was a collar mounted device that could translate his Jawaese into basic for others to listen to. Fixit himself knew basic to allow himself to understand them so...

“Someone put bomb on the ship.” His, incredibly gruff voice boomed from the speaker. Fixit at once stopped and fiddled with the device before resuming speaking, at normal volume.

“They missed a storage room but it was rigged to blow up. If I was your size you'd be scraping me off the engine.”

Kyla found Darius' comment somewhat alarming, having interpreted it as 'I have no problems hauling any of you in for cash when I feel like I might need some.' She resented the notion, especially since, seeing as he had just escaped from prison like the rest of them, he probably had a bounty on his head as well. Just then, he and a couple of others hurried off towards one of the engine rooms. Kyla did not get up from her seat, though she did take her feet off the console. None of the ship's alarms had gone off, and she couldn't sense any danger, so she was fairly confident that there wasn't any kind of emergency. Or, at least, the reactor probably wasn't about to explode. She supposed that there could be a medical emergency, as it seemed that the Jawa that was apparently on board might be in trouble, but very much doubted that she could help with that sort of thing anyway.

The cockpit wasn't empty, but everyone that was still in there with her seemed otherwise preoccupied by something or other. Still rattled by Darius' comment, and realizing that he probably wasn't the only bounty hunter on the ship, she decided to take some precautions. Plugging her datapad into the System Operator terminal she was sitting in front of, she easily regained access to the ship's computer, and accessed the security cameras so she could keep an eye on whatever was happening in the engine room. The Jawa seemed unharmed, and while that was nice and all, it was very much a secondary concern. She kept the camera feed displaying in a small box in the top-left side of the screen and went to work trying to access the blast doors, any internal security measures the ship still had, and maybe even the airlocks if the Force was with her.

Ideally, she wanted to be able to remotely control all of these systems from her datapad. That way, if ever Darius or anyone else ever decided that she was worth more as a captive - or as a dead woman - than as an ally, she could seal them off in one section or another, sic whatever anti-boarding measures the ship had left on them, and/or even space them, though she hoped it would never come to that. But if remote control wasn't possible, then she would try and design a shortcut she could operate after plugging her datapad into any of the ship's terminals. And if that wasn't possible, she'd have to search for a new way to feel secure. She'd dealt with bounty hunters before, but Darius seemed a lot more skilled than any mere thug.

Whatever the case, she hoped that her precautions would forever remain mere precautions. These people were all pretty unusual, but so far they seemed mostly friendly.

Not entirely dead.

Fixit would mainly find ashes in the locker, with the occasional handful of slag making things diverse.

Kyla could see that the ship's systems didn't currently have any sort of lockout protocols out of the ordinary, and anyone could open any doors they wanted to, or access any systems on the ship, either from the various panels around the ship or from the computer terminals. Likely the result of the job the Trianii technicians were in the process of when they had stolen the ship.

The main exception was the hyperdrive lockout, which prevented anyone from accessing the ship's navcomputer. There were also the obvious safety features, such as the airlocks, engine controls, and escape pods being restricted while the ship was in hyperspace. The life support systems seemed to only offer status information, with no controls available - likely a physical interface for security reasons.

Of course, since just about everything on the ship had been ripped out, that meant that the only things anyone could currently exert control over on the ship were the lights, intercom, the bedroom and refresher doors, and the few doors that separated the cargo bays from the rest of the ship proper.

There was also a camera feed that appeared to be coming from the back of the loungeport's conservator. Likely to allow someone to remotely check the contents of the device. It would be quite embarrassing for a smuggler to have their ship reeking of spoiled blue milk because they bought too much.

Darius looked over what had happened and whistled, "So we got a few credits here now," His voice still blunt and relatively unfazed.

"Think you can get this place working in a short time with minimum supplies?" He asked the Jawa.

Rakko grinned when he saw the droid come in. He was getting impatient cooped up in this ship with a bunch of Duloks.

"Droid, did Vania have any outposts we could go to? Anywhere to hide low? Or any jobs so we could get some credits?" the Ewok asked the droid.

The droid turned around and looked at Rakko. Beepy, unsurprisingly, beeped.

However, the droid then opened up a small port on its body, and the beam of a holoprojector was emitted in the space between it and the Ewok. The image of a planet of some sort appeared, and a male voice spoke from what was clearly a pre-recorded message. "Vania, meet me at the Dueling Dens. Product's a little more trouble than usual, but it pays more too. Deposit's five thousand, you'll get twice that much in payment at delivery. Yeah, yeah, I know you could kiss me just about now - but then how would I explain it to Shandra?" The voice laughed, and then the recording cut off.

Oh, Dagonette knew what that was. It didn't keep him from nearly leaping forward into the wall, but the feeling was familiar enough. It was the feeling of a circus owner who cheaped out on ship because he wanted to add holo-effects into a new act, or the feeling of one of the people responsible for veterinary care trying to regulate a decades old power-relay because 'they say someone dow that before'. The sound was almost as familiar as laughter. He, on the other hand, knew better than to interfere with systems that he knew little about.

"But I do believe I spotted another old friend." he said to himself, "Either I'm dead, or it's Life Day. Hopefully the former." The jester wrinkled his face, before flipping back down the access ladder in a fluid motion. Through the force, he'd transcended such crude instruments.

"Selth!" he called out, "Did I see you sneaking around somewhere?"

Feen rushed to the engine room as soon as she heard the explosion. She noticed the debris on the floor — the Jawa had said something about a bomb.

As if by instinct, she asked, "Is anyone hurt?"

"Good, this ship's not equipped to deal with blown-off arms at the moment. I could tell there used to be a kolto tank set up in one of the cargo holds, but it probably got confiscated along with everything else they stripped off the ship."

Fixit shrugged,

“Can keep anything flying so long as it has engines and airtight. Just got to watch power on this ship. Used to having all sorts of extras and lasers. No more goodies on board but engine thinks that it still needs to pump out extra power.”

He went back to looking at the engine completely ignoring the others in the room as he pulled yet another power calibrator out of his tools and set to adjusting the engine once more.

"So we are headed to dueling pens to pick up a bounty. Got it. See if you can cut down the power output Fixit. We need to save fuel," Darius turned to the others, "Now who here is good with stealth and recon? We need to have a plan for our bounty."

Uziel looked up toward the cockpit where the message had come from, "Sure it's a bounty? This is a smuggler's ship, and I believe the word used was 'Product,' not 'Target.'"

He casually turned toward Sia, "Either way, 'dueling pens' sounds like a fun way to make some credits on the side."

Beepy, once again, beeped.

The starlines of hyperspace suddenly collapsed back into points in the distance as the universe transitioned back into all three physical dimensions. Below, the day side of a planet greeted them. On the display for the nav system, Beepy had brought up several boxes of mostly-unimportant information. The largest box belonged to a map indicating a landing zone. It appeared that landing rights had either been purchased in advance, someone was expecting them, or were otherwise arranged.

One line towards the bottom, however, indicated the name of the planet. Zygerria.

As far as places to lay low went, Zygerria was easily one of the five best destinations in Wild Space. The Zygerrian Empire was entering what some would refer to as its Golden Age - the near sudden Wookiee revolt on Kashyyyk had turned the pazaak tables on the galactic slave market, and Zygerria had a pure twenty. With the galaxy in total disarray from the wars with the Mandalorians and Sith, Zygerrian slavers roamed the galaxy with a freedom they hadn't experienced in thousands of years.

The planet was a hub of activity where thousands of ships docked every day. The majority of the upper class was, unsurprisingly, Zygerrian, but humans and a few other species were able to make it to the top of the cultural pyramid. The poorer circles of society were where diversity was to be found, as there were dozens of species residing on the planet - be they free or slaves.

This expansion of their business meant that the planet itself had begun to take on a much more polite demeanor. While it was still filled with scum by the standards of the Core Worlds, most groups of visitors could get around with reasonable safety - enslaving anyone who visited was bad for business, and with most of the slavers now freely roaming the galaxy, there were few desperate enough to resort to hunting their own planet for slaves.

And of course, due to the strength of an empire home to fortresses, defenses, and starships built on the backs of billions of slaves, any Trianii operatives on their tail would be under increased constraints to avoid inciting an unpleasant incident.

Still, it was not without its downsides. Even in the best of times, there were always those desperate enough to ignore conventions. For exotic-looking short aliens, it would be wise to avoid making themselves a tempting target by wandering alone. Likewise, with how high of a price Jedi and Sith slaves commanded in the galaxy, overt displays of Force sensitivity would be best kept to a minimum to avoid being targeted by those drawn to the hunting of big game.

Uziel winced at the mention of lightfoils. "No, duels to the first hit don't properly test one's resolve."

Just then the ship entered realspace, forcing him to shift his balance. A blue and brown planet filled the ship's viewports.

"Ah. This must be our 'Dueling Dens,' now."
