Still can't upload images on Internet Explorer. Is anyone trying to fix this issue?

Quite a few bug fixes, thanks. The returned markup is now always reduced to 350. The uploader still doesn't disallow (or resize) large images, though; wiki pages display huge images shrunk to 350 even though they are "really" huge.

Oh. I didn't realize this was here, but I'm trying to upload some images via my iPad, but I keep getting a blank page.

What's happening?

EDIT: Aaaand it turns out that I can't do it on my iPhone either. Dangit.

The fact that the uploader tool allows large images to be uploaded (and doesn't resize them) continues to be a complete waste of bandwidth (because wiki articles display them shrunk to 350 px wide anyway), and is such an annoyance to IP regulars that there is a sticky thread dedicated to fixing the problem case-by-case (since it's "allowed" systematically).

Not allowing large images at all would be a trivial fix. Resizing large images when they're uploaded is probably less trivial, but the tool used to do that, so it's not impossible. Some kind of official response would be nice. At least let us know whether it's intentional.

A while ago the auto-resizer broke and I asked it not to be reinstalled, partly because it's a patchwork fix and partly because it doesn't actually fix the bandwidth issue.

As for the uploader, I've asked about why it no longer restricts the filesize.

I've asked for some improvements to the image library in the beta, which may also include an image deletion function.

Got the same issue as 28. Trying to upload an image on my iPhone for a trope page without an image, and it just gives me a blank screen afterwards.

By windyshadow32 in another thread:

I've been trying for a while to get image Uploader to work on my iPhone, however ever since iOS 9 came out, whenever I upload an image, it lets me crop the photo, but turns into a white screen before getting to the markup to use page. I've tried putting the site into Desktop version and it still didn't work. I tried putting it on the chrome app and pressing "request desktop site" and it still didn't work. Is there any way to fix this or am I out of luck until you can fix the bug?

I'm suddenly getting problems with the Uploader (using it through Firefox on a Windows machine). The file selection and crop appear to work fine, but then I get a result of the form:

Error updating remote server
Upload was successfull!
The markup to use:
[[quoteright:140:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/div25.]]
[[caption-width-right:140:some caption text]]

(The number at the end of that URL string varies.)

Not surprisingly "[[quoteright:140:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/div25.]]" doesn't work.

The uploader appears to have gone on the fritz in the last few minutes...it was working fine but now it's just spinning its wheels trying to actually process an image.

Uploader still not working.

Still not working. It times out after a while and you get a message that says "server error."

EDIT, 4 HRS LATER—well now it's working. Weird.

I can upload images on my PC (Chrome) but not my iPad (Safari). Note that I'm currently on the latter.

Edit: Yep, I'm having the problem described in post #32.

As a suggestion, can we have a list of images that we have uploaded and have the ability to rename and delete them? I made some mistake naming a few of the image files i have uploaded.

Images that are not linked on any articles will eventually be purged by a script. There is no need to review and delete them manually.

Also, I don't think renaming images is really necessary.

Having a list of images you've uploaded could be useful, though.

Yes, TV Tropes is not an image host so we don't have all functionality of such. There is already a list of images uploaded here though.

It's still there; it was moved to the article header. We'll get it back on the Tools menu.

I know this might sound like a stupid question, but could you please send me a link where the new Image Uploader is?
