What makes you think they won't be playable. Especially after the debut trailer & what they did in SOR 4?
I think I'm just tempering my expectations. I want it, but I cant expect it so I wont be let down by a perfectly good game.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireAlright, that makes sense, but I'm pretty confident based on the debut trailer alone that Splinter & April are playable this time around.
It seems labo.nintendo.com is redirecting to the VR Kit store page.

It's been 3000 years…Ah, gotcha.
I have dwelled through the company's website... it seems like they truly live to their name, because many of the Switch games listed have already sold out.
135 - 161 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300They stay up for preorder for a limited time and then close sales for most items, I think. I got Ys Origins from there, and recently ordered Sea of Silence and another game I can't remember the name of right now. It's going to be a few months though.
I've only bought The House in Fata Morgana from them.
Shipping and currency conversion makes it pretty expensive to buy games from there though. I can see why a lot of people dislike it when its announced they'll be selling a game.
I think it would be a bit unlikely for me to buy another game unless it was a remake or port of a game I really love.
The main reason I got The House in Fata Morgana is because a bunch of people have recommended it.

"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobI have yet to finish it, although I liked what I saw (which was most of the game). Twas a very...raw experience.

Oh God! Natural light!Hey, since Reggie brought it up a while back, I gotta ask:
On the off-chance (like so off-chance that pigs start to sprout jetpacks and fly at Mach 9 speed) it ever happens, would an English version of Mother 3 (be it the GBA version on Switch or a brand new remake for Switch) be titled EarthBound 2?
Or Earthbound Endings.
Switch FC code: SW-4420-1809-1805How about Earthbound Finale?
I own a GBA cart of Mother 3 with the fan translation installed. I should play it sometime.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Oh my pork, that'd be so fitting! Why didn't I think of that?!
Actually, given how Mother 3 ended...if a Switch remake (unlikely) happens, would you guys want some polishing to the end? Something a little less bizarrely ambiguous and a little more substantial and hopeful?
Or would that just defeat the purpose so bad, it'd be like kicking a unicorn?

If I were to make any changes, they would mostly be Anti-Frustration Features.
I'd keep the ambiguous ending as-is.
Part of me wonders if our only shot of ever getting a localized MOTHER 3 (not counting the lovely fan translation) is if it ever actually gets a remake.
There's definitely interest in it, I'd have to imagine a good advertising campaign would help it sell better than the unnecessary Bowser's Inside Story remake.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I mean, there's a precedent of getting the original game translated and a remake of it.
Trials of Mana (aka Seiken Densetsu 3) and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light both had remakes and translated originals. (Though in the latter's case, its remake via the DS came waaaaaaaay before the original NES version got translated last year.)

So if Mother 3 was released how would they handle the magypsies?
I honestly feel like Nintendo of America just wants fans to forget about Mother 3. They know that many were upset about the game never having been localized, they know Reggie's answers didn't sit well with anybody, they likely (though perhaps not the case) admit that they didn't handle the situation well. So instead of acting like "fine, fine, we'll see what we can do", they just act like "look, we get it, we fucked up there, and it's something we'd rather forget because it's an embarrassing memory; could you please do the same and move on?"
It's the only way I can explain, from my point of view, why they never localized the game, and why they probably never will.

135 - 161 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300They seem to draw too much attention to it for that to be the case though.
SoundCloudWhat, Nintendo, talk about Mother 3 some more? Okay, fine by me!
So, the translation patch has a new version out that fixes bugs and issues.
Goddammit, Schezo...As I've said before, I don't understand why people are still so desperate for an official English release when Mother 3 has one of the highest-quality, most professional fan translations ever made.

Well I find that hilarious... Even though I don't know why. It does interest me too. I wonder if they're gonna have an enemy that's easier to beat in the past but gives less EXP and in the future gives far more EXP. Or maybe an enemy in the past gives less EXP and is less of a threat, but that's the only time it drops a rare drop. There are a lot of ways they could play up that concept. Looks like they're doing well with it so far.
