NOTE - Report bugs along with your browser/version, operating system/version, and device. There are thousands of these combinations, and most bugs right now only affect certain combinations.
Tropers - As you are probably well aware by now, we've made a ton of changes to TV Tropes. Although most of the changes you see are primarily cosmetic, we are also part way through a complete overhaul of the backend code. With so many changes under the hood, it is entirely possible we broke a few things. If you find something that does not appear to be working correctly, this is the place to report it.
Please note, this thread is for BUGS only! If you have an idea, wish, or anything to say that is not related to a bug, please do not post it here. Those things can all be posted and discussed on other threads in Wiki Talk or the Tech Wishlist.
The more information you can provide about the bug (e.g., browser, operating system, etc.) and how to re-create it, the more likely we will be able to squash it.
Happy Troping!
EDIT: Here are some things that have been reported:
- Login issues
- Logins not sticking between devices
- Some people are still having issues with dropped logins.
- You can't log in if your username contains a space. Remove the space.
- Javascript: Your device must be able to run Javascript from tvtropes.org, static.tvtropes.org, ajax.googleapis.com, and netdna.bootstrapcdn.com. If you are blocking any of these, lots of things won't work, like editing pages.

rollin' on dubs
Blockquotes are bugged. No, they have not been removed entirely, if I understand Sep correctly.
On YMMV.Matthew Santoro, it says that the page has not been indexed, and needs to be put on an index. As far as I know, YMMV pages don't need to be indexed, so I think this should be fixed. (I'm not 100% sure if this counts as a bug, but I think it does, so I'm posting it here.)
I'm getting the same indexing bug on Troper pages (including those I know were already indexed in the contributor index).
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home.Constantly the pages suddenly redirect to full-page advertisements. Try to edit? Full page advert you can't close out of. Try to publish aforementioned edit once page cooperates? Full-page advert again. Lather, rinse, repeat. If you go back after, say, finally being able to edit the page and publish the edits, it'll take you back to the edit page. These adverts are making the site impossible to use and navigate.

You should repost that in the [[/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13223684920A10189100&page=38#941 advertisement issues thread]].
EDIT: I'm logged back in on my phone now somehow. Thank you!

ERROR: The current state of the world is unacceptable. Save anyway? YES/NOThe YMMV scales aren't showing up. For example, on the Harry Potter page, under the entry for the trope Anyone Can Die, there's a pothole to Like You Would Really Do It. If I open the page up to edit, it does say that Like You Would Really Do It needs to be moved to YMMV, and there are no other potholes to Like You Would Really Do It on that page, so I know the coding knows that the pothole is there, I just don't see the scales.
I'm thinking that we should split this thread into 2.
- One thread for Cookie-related issues (Login, Watchlist, Spoiler Setting, etc.)
- Another for Direct Site-related, like the YMMV-not-auto-indexing and Quoteblock markup things.
And yet another example of the second type: I tried to create a Franchise-specific subpage for a Trope (specifically, Early-Installment Weirdness/Pokemon). Entering that as a page gets me to the "Inexact Title" prompt as standard. When I try to Edit (that) Page from the Dropdown, I get shunted to the Home Page.
I just noticed that crowner hierarchy is messed up - it orders the options alphabetically, not numerically.

Forgive me if this is misplaced, but I'm not sure where else to mention it.
Whenever I use the site on my iPhone, it works great, but is rendered nigh-unusable because of some redirect ads that hamper my navigation. Whenever I try to look at my PM box, they stop it from loading entirely and just keep making me go to these magazine sites, and it's driving me nuts.
Any way around this at all? One of my friends is confined to her iPad, and she's experiencing the same debilitating redirects.
make it through this year if it kills you yet | 2001-2019Huge bug! I can't edit anything from my computer because the edit button doesn't show up! I can see it on my Kidle, but Windows seems to be a no-edit zone. Also, the content of The Cummoner was erased (the links are still up, so I can just repost, I guess). I mention this because I created that page and troped it like there was no tomorrow. :(
Turn it off, man, turn it off! It's sucking my will to live! Oh, the humanity! 😜
The Cummoner, IIRC, was axed by the P5 for pornographic content.
The wiki editing button, for the time being, is in a dropdown list in the icon that looks like a square with a pencil in one corner on pages.

Another bit of anecdata, I seem to also get logged out every time I leave the TV Tropes page to go somewhere else. Windows 7 PC running Chrome.
Something's up with dashes; the forum seems to be rendering them as question marks. Seen in this post
on the Armored Vehicle Thread.
Not only dashes. Curly quotation marks, too. I suspect that everything that isn't basic punctuation is affected.

It would seem that just punctuation is affected.
