If humanity goes extinct, it will most likely be our own fault. Now that would be funny.

When humans first spawned on earth, nobody knew they would be so powerful. Probably just because we looked so goddamn funny. We evolved from apes, what's not funny about that? Apes!
So anyway, we kept going and mother nature didn't figure it out. She thought us picking up tools and smashing things with them was all part of the plan. Well, not her plan. Fast-forward a few hundred-thousand years and people start using VCR terms to explain things, and "accidentally" start destroying the planet.

◊ in the pacific. Here you can see one of our team inspecting the island to see if everything is running smoothly. Earth doesn't have eyes in the ocean so it can't see that.
In the hills, humans mine for stuff, and nature gets annoyed, so it sets up defenses. You know who lives in the hills? Cougars.

Humans have also proven time and time again to be incredibly capable of producing very OP weaponry, and this one time, they used one, on one of their own, twice, and ever since then they have been giving that responsibility to any other country in fictional war-stories.
Humanity is funny because it comes up with the most ridiculous inventions, and sometimes all you can do is laugh at them.
