Eh, if the Hobbit can be created two years before it's conception, I don't see why this shouldn't exist.
Not to mention that now we know all the films are leading up to this, it's a good way to document everything in Phase 2-3.

You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction. In this case let's summon up what we know:
1. Thanos is the final enemy.
2. The infinity gauntlet is in Odin's Vault.
3. As is the Tesseract, which is the space stone.
4. The aether (being the reality stone?) was brought to the collector who is looking for more pieces.
5. The orb (power stone) is in possession of the Nova Corps.
6. The sceptre might or might not be another one, the mind stone.
7. A popular fan theory is that Thanos name consists of the initials of the objects.

Also likely is that the stones shown in "Thor the Dark World" are fake, considering the Tessearact is confirmed as the only stone Asgard has under its current supervision.
I'm also curious who they'll cast as Death.
Also, I know this will never happen but I'd love it if all the other Marvel film properties could join in a la Roger Rabbit.

I'm thinking they should have Death in, but Thanos is the only one who sees her, as if he's hallucinating. They could have it be kind of vague in a Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane department, but overall it should seem like she's a figment of Thanos's imagination. That'll make him really seem like a Mad Titan.
Is there anything special about the Infinity Gauntlet itself without the Infinity Stones? Does it let him play "Rad Racer" really good? Because if not, the film might not reference its brief cameo in Thor and just have him use any other glove of his.

Since these film is essentially an all-in-one franchise movie, and it's produced by Disney, I hope they allow Big Hero 6 into it. Would make zero sense and is completely blasphemous to the source material but if Disney is willing to allow Anna and Elsa into Once Upon a Time, this seems reasonable.
I would also kill to see Hiro interact with Tony Stark.

Hm, Age of Ultron is supposed to begin with the Avengers storming that base, right? And I think the trailer shown in yesterday's Agents of SHIELD had a brief shot of what looked like Loki's staff gem.

I would not be surprised if the Gauntlet shown in Thor has been quietly retconned. It appeared for all of five seconds and this was probably before they knew Phase 2 and 3 were going to heavily revolve around the Stones.
Alternatively I had a theory maybe it is the real Gauntlet that Odin wrested from Thanos eons ago, but the actual stones in it are just replicas.

So the current owners of the stones are Asgard (tesseract; Space), Collector (aether; Reality), Nova Corps (orb; Power) and HYDRA (staff/sceptre; Mind).
Also, if the Thanos-acronym theory is correct, we're looking for objects starting with "H" and "N" in the Phase 3 films, and they'll probably be the Time and Soul gems. I'd guess they'll show up in two of Doctor Strange, Guardians 2, and Thor: Ragnarok.

Not necessarily. The staff matches the Tesseract in color and was explicitly mentioned to be connected to the Tesseract. We've already seen the colors of all the stones, and there isn't another blue one. Don't know why they'd put it in the trailer either, but until one of the movies confirms it we have more evidence against it being a stone than we have for it being one.
This is putting aside, of course, the supreme idiocy that would be Thanos giving Loki one of the stones.
Mirroring the Cube in color doesn't mean anything. It could just be the actual Stone hidden inside the staff like the purple Power Stone hidden in the Silver Orb. The "Connection" could just be to the set of Stones in general since they actively search for each other, as was alluded to in the Dark World.
I don't know why there's so much controversy over this. They made a point of putting it right up there with the other Stones and people have been commenting on the similarities to the Mind Stone for a while now.

Giddy as hell to see this flick.
Also according to my associates on another forum Marvel studio in talk with Sony to include Spider-Man. I sincerely hope the same for Silver Surfer and X-men characters in the film as well.

"I don't give a rat's ass about going to hell. I guess it's because I feel like I'm already there." -MugenNot true. In every case, the stone's energy color is the same as its actual color. Power Stone gives off purple energy, not silver. The staff gives off blue energy, ergo it is likely related to the blue Tesseract (as stated in the film), and not the Mind Gem.

I know this topic is being discussed in the MCU thread but considering how badass this comic is, I think it deserves its own thread.

Note: I would be thrilled if this thread is kept up in the next 4-5 years
