These chapters have been a wild ride. Hawk's entire character has been curveball after curveball. I can't wait to see how this goes on — the Icarus symbolism with Hawks and him heading deeper into the dark (while Dabi walks into the light) makes me think his story might not end well.

Apropos of nothing much, and keeping in mind the risks of editing the page of such a divisive character, do you think Endeavor qualifies for Strong and Skilled? Contrasting his use of his Quirk with Dabi or Shoto brought that to mind.

Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.

I'd definitely say so, particularly because we have those two to compare him against.

But even so, Dabi took me by surprise with that ring of fire of his.

I've been thinking about this for a while, but it's possible the League are strengthening their Quirks as well.

Consider the effects of Shigaraki's touch on Aizawa (slow effect, didn't go deeper than his skin, ended as soon as contact was broken) and Overhaul (quickly spread, needed to cut his arm off to stop the decay).

I guess it's possible. It would certainly be helpful if Twice could make more than just two copies of things. And that bit about Toga also being able to use the Quirks of people she's imitating; maybe that didn't get into the final version of her, but could be something she could do if her Quirk was stronger.

Honestly, kind of weird that Miruko just showed up here. Not complaining, it's good that the other Top Heroes are getting involved with stuff, but is she based in Kyushu I wonder?

[up] I really didn't find it that weird.

After all, the fight between High-End and Endeavor was sent live across the country, and since the later is the new number two, imagine a lot of people watching the "breaking news" in real time. Her being near a television which sent it is absurdly high and her being, well...her, she just used her quirk to get there as fast as possible, itching for a real fight.

Honestly, her and High-End would have been a spectacle as well, a one-sided spectacle, but still, a spectacle.

But still, I admit there's something weird about the timing of her arrival there...unless she started hooping from really far away, that is...

I mean, the series is primarily set near Tokyo, and Kyushu (where this fight took place) has to be several hours from it. It's why Endeavor complained about coming all the way down there for his and Hawks' little chat.

So unless she was already near by, her showing up is weird.

Oh yeah, and in today's episode Mineta did his ball rope thing. We still don't know how he managed to just pull those off his head like a chain. I'm actually mildly curious.

[up][up][up][up] The question then though would be "Are all of the Japan Top 10 Heroes located and operating only in Tokyo?"

If so, that in on itself is a bit weird unless the list is really localized to the capital of a country only.

If not, then there's nothing really stopping her from starting her hopping the moment the fight is on and hope she get there in time to get some action.

...I do admit there are strange elements surrounding her here, since from her choice of words "heating up" could be aimed for Endeavor or Dabi...and if it's the latter, that would be weird since he had barely shown up on cameras with his firewall before she arrived.

Would make sense if she meant Endeavor "heating up" and she went there to help with High-End, and her being a "lone wolf"-type of hero, doing everything herself without help, she could have a lot easier time to leave for another battlefield without having to tell anyone where she goes...but yet, she homed right in on Dabi who barely had arrived there before she did...

...

I dare not speculate.

However, considering her deliberate choice of words (unless she's talking in puns as a gimmick for her hero persona) then the possibility is still there.

Planted like the illusion of the rabbit on the bright side of the moon.

I'm not talking about her secretly being a villain or anything, just commenting on how it's weird, narratively, to have her appear for a couple of pages but not really get to do anything.

And "heating up" is just an expression for getting excited (which might not have even be phrased that way in the Japanese) she wasn't saying she literally tracked their heat signatures or anything.

Well she does do something.

If she didn’t show up who knows what Dabi could have done to Hawks & Endeavor.

It was more the threat of her being there than anything else. I get why it happened because Hawks and Endeavor couldn't win in there situation, and Dabi not attacking would make sense, but it could have been handled better.

Although, since Hawks and Dabi have this "alliance" I'm actually curious what Dabi would have done.

Also, when Kacchan gets his provisional license interning under Mirko would probably be a great fit for him. Well, assuming they don't murder each other.

@asterism

Shigaraki's power only did light damage to Aizawa because Aizawa canceled his quirk, it did not stop because Shigaraki let go.

Sure, she would be a great role model to Bakugo...assuming her Blood Knight tendencies doesn't get her killed first, that is.

Hey, he's going to have to intern under somebody. I'm interested in who they'll all be interning under. It's expected to be something that'll go with them for the rest of their school tenure.

Unrelated and crossposting from the anime thread, but i found the scene about Ochako and her crush on Deku really cute and heartwarming.

I really hope Deku and Uraraka become a couple and develop that relationship later and not leave it at a post-timeskip marriage because in shonen we don't care about love.

Of course, Uraraka should get some focus of her own first

I at least hope that Bakugo , if, he gets to work under Mirko, learns and gets some self-reflection regarding his path of heroism that he's pursuing.

Considering that Mirko practically is the kind of hero he wants to be (the supreme lone wolf that fights through strength and never lose) it seems like a good match indeed.

She might even be able to rein in some of his more "less heroic" traits during it as well.

(Also, on a humorous note, I think Bakugo should go with "Scarecrow" as his hero name. Why? Because he's screaming bloody murder about "murder" all the time, follow by loud explosions, and another definition of "murder" is "a gathering of crows". Meaning that he tries to be intimidating and "scare villains from the fields full of civilians" that would be "beneath his watch as he stand as the tallest and mightiest thing in the field.")

"Scarecrow" would be a great fit for his alias, personality-wise and power-wise and purpose-wise.

I mean, the series is primarily set near Tokyo, and Kyushu (where this fight took place) has to be several hours from it.

Assuming that it's in Fukuoka and not further south in Kyushu, it's about an hour by air (travelling commercial) or five hours by Shinkansen (you can go straight through on the Nozomi).

The question then though would be "Are all of the Japan Top 10 Heroes located and operating only in Tokyo?"

If so, that in on itself is a bit weird unless the list is really localized to the capital of a country only.

I think they mentioned a couple of chapters back that Hawks was based in and around Kyushu, so clearly not all the top ten are Tokyo based. Though given how heavily Japan's population is concentrated on the Kanto plain (and to a lesser extent Kansai), it wouldn't be a surprise is a significant number of them are based in Tokyo and the surrounding cities.

[up]Interesting. But then that brings up the question "how long was this fight?" Time gets wanky and all, but I can't see all of this going on for an hour or more.

Again though, my issue isn't specifically how she got there, though I do find that a bit strange but I'm sure it could be explained. Just that her showing up at all felt strange given the set up.

Maybe it would have felt less so if there had been mention of her specifically being fairly close by or we saw her seeing it on TV or something.
