Man. It sucks when you say that, because that's the moment where you realize that Deku quite literally peaked at 15 years old, hero-wise.
It's genuinely funny but then you think about it a bit more, and can't help but be sad.
One Strip! One Strip!Making the hero lose his powers can be considered a brave decision, but it is somewhat disappointing for all the fans, who expected Deku to become the new number 1 hero.
It's important to remember that the target audience is teenagers, and most of them aren't interested in the author creating a "brave ending." They want an ending where Deku is number 1, no matter how cliché it may be.
I mean, in Full Metal Alchemist they did the same thing, but Edward's goal was never "To be the best alchemist in the world" or "To be the new alchemist king" or anything like that.

A comparison could be Pokemon.
Imagine if Ash had never become a champion, but decided it didn't matter, because being a Pokemon Master isn't about winning a trophy, but rather the desire to always improve as a person and trainer. Even though he never won a trophy, he's still a winner.
It could be considered a brave ending that sends a good message, but it would be disappointing for all the fans who grew up with that franchise (especially the kids).

Funny you mention that, cuz in the ultra book, it's mentioned that in the months since Deku got the suit, he quickly ranked up to number four hero, with Bakugo sticking in 5th place too.
"Cynicism is not realistic and tough. It's unrealistic and kind of cowardly because it means you don't have to try."Now that I mention "The Last", I wonder if My Hero Academia will have one of these.
The Izuocha is not as poorly developed as the Naruhina, so a movie could improve their relationship. (And unlike Naruhina, they wouldn't have to invent like 10 different retcons to make it work.)

I mean, it's not as if it's not a thing in verse. Kyoka and Mirko both use artificial prosthetics to make up for a partial loss of their Quirk.
Bewitching EyesSo, time passes by... Really flies by.
I still rememeber the bullshit some people in here pulled in the chapter where the citizens are interviewed.
I won't give names, but it still quite egregious in how some reached the worst conclusion of society from some panels alone.
"Cynicism is not realistic and tough. It's unrealistic and kind of cowardly because it means you don't have to try."If there's something that's been conclusively proven in the last 10 years or so, it's that people, as a collective, are absolutely fucking stupid

is true, Lone. It's regretful, but true.
Also, when there's a lack of explanation for something, people do tend to latch onto the worst possible interpretation.
We gotta accept that before things can change. Kinda like how Deku and company needed to understand the flaws of the hero system, and how it failed (in the form of the League) in order to save the day, and start trying to improve things.

I even imagine a comic were some Jesus analog can read the souls of the non-mutants and finds out they can't be saved at all, with the non-mutants going masks off after being found out.

After 10 year plus years I have the confidence to be here. My one and only Fate servent. And so what is an idealist expected to do? Swing hard to the other side? Is there even a way to believe in bringing a better day if one believes human nature is going to be inherently negative in many cases due to their basic less sapient instincts as an animal?
Just an eagle. Feel free to PM me. Proposed pages in my sandbox are free to create/edit."Facts"? More like a misanthrope's declaration. And Billy pointed out quite well, you seriously think that all optimism must be shred and just give up on people? Because the answer reeks of that misanthropic mindset.

So you mean people must act closer to a Knight in Sour Armor if they want to effectively bring change instead of pushing on as an idealist with unrealistic expectations for inherent human nature, or giving up into an apathetic cynic or even a nihilist who refuses to help, if I’m not wrong?

It's facts my man, in order to fix the world you must first understand the world's issues, and that sometimes you can't be the one to fix them.
more like understand that not everybody likes the Knight in Shining Armor as they have to fight evil at its fullest and foulest, they must steel themselves when going against human nature.

Still, it's funny to think that Deku, in his prime, could fight all of his classmates at the same time and win.
