Hmm, that's true, I don't think my idea is viable anymore. I just really like the trope where during the final battle hero and villain, after showing off their super powers / enormous robots / hyper smart plans / whatever, end up as mostly regular people desperately fighting in a mostly regular way-

The moment I heard that he was a scientist friend of All Might, was the moment I knew he was actually the Lex Luthor of the story.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I went in thinking he would be the Batman to All Might's Superman but the moment I heard he was a scientist, was the moment I realized he's actually the Lex Luthor of the story.
Since the whole "Lex Luthor and Superboy were former friends" was a backstory made by Superman's creator even if the idea is a bit of a base breaker in the fandom.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Okay I just finished Heroes Rising.
MUCH better than Two Heroes. Not to say I dislike Two Heroes, but it's a little frontloaded and gets kinda dull after the first act. Nah, this one is REALLY good the whole way through. 1-A are already on the island, almost all of them get a chance to shine, they do small stuff to help people and it's cute and sweet, and...look I love when Izuku interacts with kids, so seeing him and the rest of 1-A risking themselves to protect these two kids is golden. And the climax is AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH, HOLY FUCK. *THAT* is the good shit. DOUBLE ONE FOR ALL, FUCK YES.
My only complaints are that I still wish they'd fit in some room for a couple of the 1-A students to do *something* (Tooru didn't get ANYTHING beyond protecting the islanders while the final battle was going on) and Nine is a very boring villain with a very boring motivation. He's just a physical obstacle. Mind, him being a physical obstacle works, he's got some genuine menace to him. That's a lot more than Wolfram from Two Heroes, that dude was even more boring.
Still though, definitely a great watch. Kinda wish I could've seen this in a theater.
Okay, so we get a bit of a reminder of Twice's backstory and some new details like his former job and how he was recruited.
And so he learns he was the real deal all along and becomes OP enough to make an army of himself.
Well that's one way of evening the odds. And he can make clones through his clones and said clones have the ability to use their quirks?
FUCK! How are Deku and friends going to stand up against....THAT?
Oh Dabi gets more scenes. Hmmmmmm, so his flames hurt his body as well? So there's two possibilities, 1: He somehow got his quirk from All for One.
Or 2: he happens to have a mom with an ice related quirk that he inherited that doesn't actually involve using ice, but still causes flames to hurt his body. The way he's reacting to the ice implies he's got some kind of resistance to it.....Hmmmmmmm.
Dabi even mocks the ice quirk user for desiring power at all costs. That's a dead ringer for Endeavor pre character development.
So Redestro's quirk is to buff up his body somehow? Maybe it's related to emotion since he keeps going on and on about his backstory/Destro's cause.
How the hell are quirks MORE suppressed now than before? As established by the first episode, people with quirks have the advantage in society. Are they meant to have a legit point or are they just entitled rich NRA type assholes?
Also apparently, metas being renamed quirks helped cause society to accept them. Huh, I think that makes more sense in the Manga?

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Random observation, but All Might hasn't done much this season huh?
Can't be helped since he lost his powers but damn.
Is there a particular reason why he doesn't have a vestige in One for all?
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Heroes Rising is actually the only non-One Piece anime movie I've seen in theaters... Well, modern anime movie. Back when Pokemon was huge, I did see those first two movies in theaters, but those released EVERYWHERE. Anime movies are bigger now, but for me they still require an hour and a half drive.
At the time I saw Heroes Rising, I didn't like how hand wavey the ending seems - One For All just stops transferring to Bakugo, and he doesn't even remember it happened. But knowing what we know now - That the vestiges aren't just a part of One For All, but are basically completely sentient in there, and that if a user with a Quirk takes it on they'll die of old age within a few years - I have less of a problem with it now. Its still pretty convenient, but it doesn't bug me.
I also think Toru could've done something. What if she snuck into the battle invisibly, used her light refraction to blind Nine, and that gave the opening for Deku and Bakugo to do their combo attack? It'd be a small bit, but it'd still be something.
I honestly liked the side villains more then Nine.. Although, I couldn't hear the wolf man's voice without thinking of Smoker from One Piece, but that doesn't bother me.. The fight against him was pretty cool. Everyone working to hold him down (How strong his Froppy's tongue!?) and Shoto basically doing an ice version of Prominence Burn was cool.
Also, to Red's question about Quirk suppression, there's actually a bit of a history lesson in Vigilantes about how the regulations on Quirk usage and heroing came to be. - One of the characters is a woman whose college thesis is about the subject.

Damn it, more movie talk.
Better finish up this season soon so I know what you people are talking about.
Okay, next is a Shiggy episode. Let's see his backstory in full then.
Assuming he doesn't go for the multiple choice option.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Oh yeah, the battle with Chimera was great. Against uh...lady with the hair needls or whatever...kind of annoyed that Mina gets wounded so that Tokoyami could go ballistic. Felt a bit manpain-y. I mean c'mon, Mina's injuries weren't nearly as bad as everyone else's, Momo and Denki were driving their Quirks into overdrive and killing themselves even before the final battle began.
I did kind of like the subtle little details showing Tenya and Momo leading the class. It's not prominent but given how the students are all by themselves without teacher supervision, it's kinda nice to get that reminder of those two being the leaders of the class.
Unfortunately, Heroes Rising and World Heroes Mission aren't on Crunchyroll. TECHNICALLY, they are on Hulu... But not the basic package. So.. You may have to pay-to-rent these ones somewhere.
Heroes Rising is definitely worth it. I can't speak to World Heroes Mission because I haven't seen that one myself.

You see, that is why physical media is supreme (especially as the MHA movies were around the average price for a movie).
Now if only more anime series had more sane prices for seasons on blu-ray/dvd (nevermind full boxsets) instead of being ~$20 more on average than the average western cartoon's boxset
Attachments are not the problem, Indifference is. Keelah se'lai

Just finished watching Two Heroes. It was mainly good on most fronts, but that final battle was HYPE AS HELL!
Also, I'm mostly impressed by the twist done for the plot point of the true "traitor" that was kinda obvious in that while Dave was behind the kidnapping, he at least wanted to do it for his old friend, while it's the assistant who pushed him to do the plot. It's kind of a breath of fresh air in showing that some people are forced what they can in desperate times.
