They did say it took awhile to figure out what was going on. He's probably programmed to only go braindead like the standard nomus when specifically asked things pertaining to the League and/or AFO.
Someone give me a quick run down of who Okuramo is]

@BlackYakuzu94: Friend of Aizawa and Mic's from school. Cloud powers, based on the monkey king. Got killed (or so we thought) during his internship in third year.

The implication that Kurogiri is a Nomu is actually quite horrifying really. For one thing, it means Ujiko had the ability to create Nomu with their intelligence in tact long before the High Ends were made, and that its not necessarily the multiple quirks that forces the Nomu to go brain dead. Meaning either they did something specific to Kurogiri to avert this like giving him enhancements to his brain, or the multiple quirks have never been the cause of the brain damage, just that these sick fucks are doing it to people purposefully to make loyal pawns. And that's not even going into Shirokumo himself. Either Shirokumo was Only Mostly Dead and been suffering a hellish And I Must Scream for about a decade now, or Ujiko has been grave robbing and is capable of stealing quirks from corpses.
Kinda funny how we just nixed the Main Character page when a third of this chapter was about Iida and Uraraka and the developments they're getting. Iida is coming into his own as a leader, Uraraka is using heavier equipment and learning to use her quirk to compensate for her own physical shortcomings, and its obvious that despite any feelings she has for Midoriya, she's still doing her best to lock them away. Also, still love Mina and her antics, especially this chapter.
I won't deny I got a chuckle out of Bakugo and Midoriya this chapter. How sharp are those spike though if they can actually pierce the skin and skull. And Midoriya not even bothering to take them out, ha! And of course you have Toshinori with his dad jokes. He really is pretty much the dad of 1-A now.
We talk about Aizawa a lot in regards to Shirokumo, but its nice they made it a point to acknowledge just how screwed up this is for Yamada. His unnatural restrained demeanor, his trying to keep Aizawa calm despite his own clear agitation, even his quick attempts to try and rationalize it as Tsukauchi being wrong. Shirokumo was friends with both of them afterall, so its likely hurting Yamada just as much as it is Aizawa to hear this, so I appreciate the contrast in their reactions to learning this. That said, I am a little upset they didn't bring Kayama in for this. She was their upperclassman, yeah, but she sorta was the fourth member of their little group, and was there when Shirokumo died, as well as being effectively the third member of their present day Freudian Trio. So it would have been nice to get her reaction to this too.
Consider him the Obito to Aizawa's Kakashi and Yamada's Gai. Very nice classmate and person who saw the best in Aizawa despite Aizawa's pessimism who lost his life during their interships under the Hero His Purple Highness, aka MHA Prince. He got crushed by a rock saving some civilians after it bashed him on the head. His aesthetic gave him a Son Wukong/Monkey King kinda vibe. His hero name was Loud Cloud.

interesting thought, but maybe Dabi underwent the same process as shirakumo? IE toya actually died and got Frankenstein'd

Possible, but unlikely given I would assume Ujiko/All For One would have kept him around rather than let him run loose until the Stain incident.
In hindsight Kurogiri being a Nomu adds in with him being Shiggy's caretaker. Looking at Giganto it seems AFO has a habit of slightly neutering his bodyguards.
Would also explain Gigantomechia's abilities. He only needs three hours of sleep every few days, has inhuman strength and speed, that rock like appearance, and endless stamina. Of course AFO would only want subordinates that were 100 percent loyal to him.
The reason Kurogiri isn't braindead like the rest of the Nomu is because he doesn't have multiple quirks, he has a single one that has been frankesteined out of several quirk factors, with Shirakumo's being the base.
on the oboro being like obito first of all to quote rebelfaction s ( "some evidence to it : Shirakumo’s first name is Oboro. He’s the deceased friend (who was goofy and hard working of a grumpy jaded teacher to the main characters that was heavily changed by their death, who was crushed by a rock , and whose death was shown outside the main series. sounds alot like obito And Horikoshi has gone on record as to say he was heavily inspired by Naruto. So it’s entirely possible Shirakumo was inspired by obito." )
( aizawa and kakashi both have powers related to their eye in some way and had a reputation for kicking out entire teams/classes if they dont meet a certain standard and made that threat to the protagonists team )
after obito was crushed by the rock
he was found by an old bad guy ( referenced in bnha with afo ) on life support who healed him and altered his body and warped obito so obito ended up becoming a bad guy and went by a different name and acted different (adopting a new personality and name ) with powers which allow for teleportation for himself and others if he so chooses and intangibility with that same power to let attacks pass through ( with limitations of course like kurogiri warp gate Using this Quirk, Kurogiri can create and manipulate a dark fog that acts as a portal. When the user produces a mass of the dark fog, it transports anything it comes in contact with to a nearby location. Kurogiri can even shroud himself with the black mist to hide his true body and personally transport anything out of himself. which allows him to dodge attacks
(and kurogiri can manipulate his fog into any density he wants or needs
(the theme naming shirakumo (white cloud) kurogiri ( blackfog and fog just being a low sitting cloud) may have been a hint since when obito showed up as an antagonist it was under the name tobi which in kanji is just obito reversed like the buu and uub thing
(funny enough when obito was actually killed it was due to an attack that deteriorated his body to the point he was disintegrated ( shigaraki has a quirk that can do that

Dabi being a frakensteined Touya would be highly disturbing if it was the case. Hell it wouldn't even have to be Touya, it would just be his quirk implanted into someone whose body is presumably constructed out of multiple people.

Is Kurogiri's character tropes-sheet going to be moved over to "Artificial Humans" now?
Well, I did not see that coming, and while some people did guess at Cloud=>Mist, the Noumu connection hasnt been theorized. Kudos Ho Ko.
I say leave it until we know more/for sure.
Freaky shit is going on man.
Why does everyone think my name is Rebelfaction? Its Rebelfalcon people! Like the bird of prey!

Goddamned mandela effects.
Wow, as someone who never read Vigilantes this is some interesting shit. And it does make it funny how Shiggy was only given 2 nomus before he could form an actual league
I'm sensing a pattern. Ujiko is always the A Wizard Did It excuse for everything in speculation, isn't he?
If it involves immoral experiments and weirder Quirk shit? Yes.
He's pretty much the Vegapunk for the LOV/PLF.
Uraraka's so precious. Wonder if Midoriya keeps her chips around somewhere....I don't consider it a bad gift since she's not exactly the most rich person in her class, but maybe if.
Because factions are often struggling against something, while falcons are mostly loners who don't hang around society long enough to rebel.
Three months still till the end of the first year? Man, I like this series but it really feels like it's been spinning its wheels for a long time now. The main characters feel too static in their progress as well.
It wasn't chips, it was mochi (her favorite food). And I figure he's eaten it by now. I mean, that's not the kind of thing you keep as memento.

lol true. Now he thinks of her when he eats mochi lol. Actually, having that All Might plushie might come in handy one day.

If Dabi were connected to Ujiko or AFO that probably would have been hinted when the two actually meet, but it wasn't. There wasn't any sign of particularly significance to either of them (well, besides Ujiko saying he liked Dabi's aesthetics).
And Gigantomachia was specifically said to have not been modified so this revelation doesn't imply anything about him either.
