[up][up] considering that Re-Destro's kanji contain the words for "power", "to be" and "Bridge"... I say that it might be a quirk capable of transferring power through his body from the dark mark in his face. How much power? Who knows. Would it be a stretch to put the cap on "Saitama"-level for how much power he can channel at once?

[up] Well, Saitama's thing is that he has yet to hit his upper limit (if he can), so that might be a bit much for Shiggy to handle.

I expect sleep deprivation to come to a head though. Shigaraki's been at it for a while, and he's this close to just keeling over from sheer exhaustion.

When Destro was born, Quirks and discrimination were already a thing, so he can't be the original glowing child. Still, it was early enough that Quirked individuals were a persecuted minority.

I think his mother is consiedered the "mother of Quirks" because she was the one who created the very idea of considering them "just another part of someone's individuality" rather than exceptional powers.

Yeah we have some Misunderstandings going on. Destro was the baby in the story. Re-Destro is just Destro's Son.

Descendant rather. If Quirk users were still a minority, that story must have happened several generations ago.

As things stand even with Re-Destro as the son that's still four generations at least. (Izuku's generation > his parents' and teachers, Gran Torino's generation, and the one before that)

I'd say that's plenty.

I wonder how many quirkless people died at the uprising of the original LA and "Super-Villains".

I mean, the quirkless had numbers, weapons and alt-right militia gunning for the quirked.

The quirked had superpowers...with the risk of said powers being "jokes" unfit for self-defense.

Maybe the MHA-earth's threat of global warming was halted due to the insane amount of human beings dying off in the initial uprising...

I say, give or take... 3/4.

Yeah, we don't know the exact timeline, but it's still entirely possible for Quirks to be in the minority during Destro's childhood, while still Re-Destro is his actual son.

We have no idea how long it took before they actually stopped being the minority, or how old Re-Destro is, or how long ago Destro was born.

Anyway, this situation is getting more and more hectic.

[up] A way to decrease the minority gap in a short amount of time would be to decrease the total amount of quirkless people..."manually".

I wonder if anyone have actually asked Horikoshi what the world population is estimated to be in the MHA-verse in the current time...

Edit: Yeah... and we still got Spinner and Flower-Power on the side, alongside Machia incoming...and Dabi against a false scripture...

Chaos at every turn...

[up]? I don't know why you're bringing that up, it's never been implied. It seems like the world changed fairly rapidly, it's just "fairly rapidly" in the context we're talking about can still mean decades. And Quirks have "only" been around for some undisclosed period of time over a century.

It's interesting that the "Mother of Quirks" is apparently just a commonly known story, though. Is her connection to Destro also widely known, I wonder?

Considering how the quirk-timeline have been measured in generations, I say that it's either by 100 (A whole lifetime) or in the 30-spectrum (Where people...probably...most likely...) would have the next generation born.

So either count it in 30+30+30+30... then yes, it is relative in speed.

But if counted in the 100?

Some serious population culling must have taken place to even consider that recent in order to grant quirk majority in the world...

Just thesis and dart throwing.

There have been five generations of Quirks (Izuku's is the fifth) and in "All Might Rising", which happened when All Might was 18, Gran Torino says that All For One has been alive for over a hundred years.

But either way, no, you don't need "population culling" to get a majority relatively fast, with the way this whole thing started and probably proceeded. And if such a thing were to happen, it would be happening to the people with Quirks not the other way around.

Generational time is never exact to being with, it's a sliding scale.

I'm interested in how his Quirk actually works. He survived that fall, so I wouldn't be surprised if the black stuff acted as a sort of "armor"; which could also come in handy for protecting against Shigaraki's death touch.

And the Body Horror… almost seems he's not simply enlarging his arm, but also rearranging his insides or something to shift them over with it. Or something.

Double post.

So there was talk before how about Re-Destro cares more about his "family honor" than the actual goal of the Meta Liberation Army/Destro itself. While I don't totally agree with that, it is interesting how his familial link to all of this and the history of Quirks are so tied together.

Like, his grandmother actually being the one to come up with the term "Quirk"; I had wondered exactly how that term came about but I didn't expect to get an answer.

I did assume that the term Quirk was an attempt to make the superpowers sound natural and "human", and I'm glad I got that right. I thought it'd be a deliberately chosen term from political activists but I guess what actually happened is similar enough, just that the original coiner of the term was acting more out of personal desperation. The child in question, Destro, becoming a major figure was probably how the anecdote spread enough for the term to be widely adopted. (Apparently the story is common knowledge enough that conventionally schooled adults would be expected to know about this.)

Shigaraki destroying an entire building is something I've always wondered if he could do. With a lot of characters when we see something new from them it's ambiguous whether they recently learned how to do it/got stronger, or if they just never did it before because it was never relevant.

As this seems to be rushing towards its conclusion, something I'm not totally surprised by because I figured this would be over in about a volume, I am starting to feel like this might just be the end of the MLA.

But the more we find out, the less I like that idea. It just seems strange for Destro and his lineage to not actually interact with the good side of things. Well, unless some other stuff I've been thinking about also pans out, but even then...

I follow the Headcanon that dry skin is Shigaraki's drawback for overusing his quirk.

He's gonna be really itchy when the sleep deprivation wears off.

Nice to meet you. I began reading the manga again with the original intention of making sure that information on TV Tropes is correct. However, not only I enjoy reading the manga as I used to do, but also I've developed a new crush on Kai Chisaki/Overhaul once realizing his beauty. Why did Horikoshi make such a nasty villain as he so handsome?
