You know, even assuming All For One is actually behind things, the hands being fake would still be weird. So he gives Tenko a Quirk assuming he'll end up killing his family, okay. But then they also make a bunch of fake hands and show it to him as proof? What?
Also, in I think chapter 68 and the final episode of season 2, when Shigaraki talks to Izuku, there's a little flashback panel to him as a kid standing over a pool of blood and a severed hand.

I admit, while the idea of All for One setting things up does seem likely with how little we know, I'm also kinda leaning towards what happened being genuine.
I think it would be funny if they kinda had it both ways: AFO did plan to set up the situation, but things ended up happening all on their own, giving him a genuine chance to be a mentor.
One Strip! One Strip!Another reason I want the story to be true, is that it gives another parallel between Shigaraki and Eri.
Now, hypothetical this could also work as a sort of parallel (contrast? not totally sure if using that right), if All For One gave Tenko his Quirk, but took Izuku's away - but in that case, I've already mentioned how I think both of those situations sort of weaken the characters in questions arcs, so I hope that's not the case.
What strikes me in these last two chapters is that this situation − the possee being summoned by a mysterious overlooker, the protagonist having to expose what he will do with his power as a test of character and finding a new motivation − is usually one the heroes find themselves in. Doing the same thing but completely flipping it over is quite brilliant.
Yup. A lot of typical hero tropes getting played by the villains. All for One holding off All Might in a "heroic" last stand in order to give Shigaraki and the others a chance to escape comes to mind.
Also, having a decapitated Noumu head wired up solely to make use of its quirk is horrifying, and at the same time I can see so many possibilities. It's like how some of the Diclonii were used in Elfen Lied. Just keep the brain and spinal cord intact, along with whatever other body parts are required for the quirk to work. Maybe some sort of endurance or durability quirk to not have to worry about life support.
That's a good catch, in which case it'll probably be the title of volume 23.
Speaking of which, I've been wondering if for that volume we'll get character pages for the villains. Because we haven't had any of that, but this focus they're getting will take up a significant amount of the next volume.

Spinner seemed really unsure about all of this, I'm curious to see where that ends up. Based on what Dabi said, he was probably already in contact with Hawks at this point.
I'm really curious about what Destro's Son's Quirk is, if it's the same as Destro's, and if whatever it is explains that mystery panel. I think the answer to the two questions will be yes, by the way.
Near certain the object is Giran's Scarf plus one of his fingers.
His scarf has always looked somewhat fleshy [1]
You know, thinking back on the "stolen quirk Deju" theory, i realized thati actually saw this idea before somewhat recently, which was in Little Witch Academia. But while in LWA the protagonist was able to perservere until she was able to cast magic naturally, im not sure what Deku losing his quirk would do.
Akko and Deku start out similar, but it feels like Deku more than got compensated for his loss, so what do you guys think woukd be the prupose?
D) It's all one big coinkydink.

I think it's Giran without the bones.
Edit: Also, what do you all think that thing in the bottom left corner is?
(That dark thing in the triangle within the massive montage of all the things Shigaraki aims to destroy. Right under Deku's picture.)
I can't make it out... Anyone else with more luck than me that can actually make a guess?
