It's not like we're ever going to go into all the specifics of how making them works anyway.

You could just say "never betray All For One/Me/Shigaraki/etc" was programmed into them somehow. Whether or not the programming always works just depends on what Horikoshi wants to do.

Or the doctor just did the "imprinting" that birds have so that the very first thing they see, they will be loyal to the death towards, in this case, the Doctor.

1. Hatch.

2. Imprint on the Doctor

3. Obey the Doctor.

4. Order: "Obey this person"

5. Obey until Doctor say otherwise.

Something like that.

The chainsaw one was even programmed to obey anything Dabi says with his voice.

True though that was with the original mindless variation. The more intelligent a being is, the greater it's ability to rebel.

I kinda expect one to rebel & join the heroes.

It’s just a somewhat common thing in situations like this.

Hence the "it depends on how Horikoshi wants to write it." He might have one (or more) rebel, or he might not. Probability doesn't actual factor into it.

Plus, rebelling and joining the heroes don’t necessarily have to go together. You could do the first part without the second.

Anyway, I counted twelve High-Ends in that spread (including the one Endeavor fought and the first ever female Nomu), and it looks like there could still be more that we weren't seeing. That's not good.

After we're done with this flashback I wonder if instead of going back to the hero side we'll get a little bit from the MLA front.

That's not good for them. I'm betting Conservation of Ninjutsu is going to hit them hard.

Speaking of Nomus...

From the looks of it, the field of bio-engineering have gotten much more advanced than I thought it would considering that technology supposedly got hit hard enough to get stunted when the quirks first emerged...

If this field got this advanced to the point where combat-oriented mutants can be developed without quirks like AFO, then I am curious of another field...

How far can cybernetics have advanced with the help of quirks in this kind of setting?

Now I'm just curious about Giganto's multiple Quirks. He might not have become mindless, but he still doesn't seem entirely right mentally.

[up] One don't need multiple quirks to be mentally and/or psychologically unstable.

That said, we just have to wait and see for those to be revealed.

I think it's safe to discuss the possible "roof" of how many quirks he could have though.

I start the opening bid: "7"

LSBK Since: Sep, 2014
#28188: Mar 22nd 2019 at 11:51:30 PM

[up]I always thinking seven, just because of the recent stuff with Izuku.

I keep thinking Kirishima and Mina have to have some kind of confrontation with him, but I don't know how that would work - they obviously wouldn't stand a chance against him in a fight.

I wonder why he was looking for that "Springer" hero in the Kirishima flashback?

TitanJump Since: Sep, 2013 Relationship Status: Singularity
#28189: Mar 23rd 2019 at 4:25:57 AM

[up] Mina trying to softening Gigantomachia with the most corrosive of her acids so Kirishima can beat him down, but discover it won't work.

Then opt to make an acid the evaporates into gas when exposed to air for too long and spill it in Gigantomachia's face, (since even if you're built as a tank, you still need air to keep going) while Kirishima takes a defensive stance to protect Mina while the tactic is underway, until either Kirishima breaks or Gigantomachia chokes,

If you can't beat a guy holding a impenetrable shield by breaking it, then light a fire in front of his feet and smoke the carrier down instead. Common tactic.

[up] Well it could have also been a soap-based quirk as well, before this confirmation.

That aside, it's not a speculation anymore, which was the point.

You said hint, did you not? That doesn't imply total confirmation.

There's also no reason to assume his power could be soapy water or something; just recently we had the guy whose Quirk was specifically carbonated water (which is still amusing to me).

Horikoshi seems to like water Quirks and gigantification Quirks. We've seen or heard about more variations of those two types than anything else, I believe.

I honestly think that has more to do with the fact that he doesn't want to step on any of the major characters' toes. A flotation quirk could overshadow Uraraka, ice or fire has to have a relation with Todoroki or it'd just be confusing, and any speedster would be redundant to the Ingenium family. But who cares if Kota or Mt. Lady gets powercrept?

Element Quirks are common, Giant and muscle enhancing ones should be too when you consider superheroes in general. Even the likes of Devilman is considered a superhero in Japan and his powers include shit like clothes beam and using eyebrows as extendable weappns.
