I genuinely prefer the way it is now.

You could probably get fairly compelling angst out of it, but I still think from both a narrative perspective and internal logistics, him genuinely just being naturally Quirless works better.

And even if All For One did take his quirk, what would it matter at this point?

Unless All For One kept it, which there is no indication of, it's ten-plus years removed and could be All Might-knows-where by now, in anyone's possession, and would require All For One to return it to him, anyway.

Admittedly, Contrived Coincidence though it may be, the idea of Izuku running into someone using the quirk he should have had is an interesting idea.

I didn't say it would change anything, just that itd be an interesting detail.

How would Deku's life had turned out if he had his original quirk instead of Of A.

Isn't there something about people's toes that indicates weather or not they were born with a quirk? I don't think having it stolen would change that.

The main problem with that theory is that it would require AFO or the doctor to know what Quirk Deku had and steal it before he or his mom had any knowledge of it. Considering the Midoriyas are just a pretty ordinary family with unremarkable Quirks, that seems highly implausible.

Neither of his parent's quirks would have been strong enough to put him on the hero tract. "Breathing fire" probably pales to what people like Endeavor can pull off.

Of course, he could still have been chosen by All Might. The only thing different would be that his question to All Might on the rooftop that day would have been "can someone still be a hero, even with a crappy Quirk?".

Him being Quirkless is part of why All Might chose him; removing that changes a lot about the situation. You can't pretend that everything would be the same.

Anyway, you could totally be a hero with fire breath (or some variation); just not an All Might teer hero. We've seen heroes make due with worse.

But I think even that possibility would have been enough for him compared to the hoplessness that was being Quirkless.

[up] Izuku having his quirk stolen as a child wouldn't actually change the fact he grew up quirkless, nor would it affect anything happening now unless he somehow got that quirk returned to him.

[down] Which is completely unaffected by the possibility of his quirk being stolen as a child.

[up] I confess I might have lost the thread of the conversation a bit.

He can probably knock it down to four once All Might tells him Nana's quirk, assuming he hasn't already.

Oh yeah, I just meant that narratively speaking he doesn't need yet another Quirk added to his arsenal.

So Spinner was inspired by Stain not because of his anti-hero rhetoric but because of how he’s willing to go against society to achieve his own goals & dreams.

For a man who was apparently oppressed & repressed all his life, seeing a guy basically going “fuck you” to the world must have felt cathartic as Hell.

Well if you don't mind me mixing all the theories...

If we assume that All For One (The quirk) is touch-based, we can see the logical issue with All-For-One (the person) eventually passing All For One to Shigaraki.

So if the hypothetical Quirk that was stoles from Izuku was a long-ranged version of All For One...

LSBK Since: Sep, 2014
#28018: Mar 15th 2019 at 7:46:04 PM

I mean, that's only an issue in the scenario that All for One gets caught. Which did happen, but I doubt they were planning for that.

I have to admit, Izuku randomly mutating the power to take Quirks from people, and being discovered by All for One and having it stolen before he even realized it would be something. It wouldn't be good, but it would be something...

In regards to Nana and what her Quirk was, I notice that her costume is actually fairly generic; there's no actual hint of a theme to deduce what her power might have been from it like with a lot of heroes. That could have just been because she focused on the super strength instead of her own power, but I kind of wonder if Horikoshi had this in mind from the start, and didn't want to provide any clues as to what she could actually do.

Well the idea I was getting at was the "Hisashi Midoriya is an alias of All-For-One" theory. Like, he purposely romanced Inko (and probably several other telekinetic women) with the intent of combining the two into one.

I also forgot to mention how incredibly out-there this theory is, but I feel like that goes without saying.

Ah, I understand then.

Does anyone else really like Twice slitting a guy's throat with his wrist-ruler thing?

And I'm really interested in what exactly Gigantomachia's Quirk is even supposed to be - he's all rocky and spiky, can most likely change size, and also he can burrow beneath the ground? What exactly is going on with him?

Considering he's a fan of Devilman I wouldn't be surprised if Gigantomachia power works similar to the Titanomarchy ie he gets all kinds of HAX shit as long as he has contact with the earth beneath him.
