Nana's power being exactly like Shigaraki's is pretty unlikely. Again, she's just one of his grandparents, other people are mixed in there.
But in the event it was something like that, I'd see no reason he wouldn't be able to turn it off. What would something like that even add to the story?

Tenya's quirk had managed to persist in his family for at least several generations.

Also I'll note Tenya's quirk is different from his brothers, so while Engine's are consistent, there are plenty of variations of that that likely occurred.

The thought is that she had a Quirk related to plants, revitalizing or making them grow, that sort of things. So she boosted life while he destroys it.
Not related, but I've decided to take a crack at the One for All successor order. We already know 1, 7, 8, and 9 for certain, and probably 6 (based on what All Might said it was probably the one channeling Best Jeanist), but as for the others:
- 5th user - Black Whip guy.
- 4th user - Silhouetted figure who, if not Destro himself, could still be related to him somehow.
- 3rd user - The big guy who had the scars/lines over his left eye.
- 2nd user - Other silhouetted figure.

We don't know, either way, but it's implied that he's Destro's actual child. That said, far as his role and position goes, it's a Distinction Without a Difference as long as he has a blood connection to Destro either way.
Great chapter. I love the League, so it's always great to see them get some focus. Hopefully we meet this "Ujiko" soon...
Oh God! Natural light!

If that is the case then I hope he can turn it off.
