So Eraser's and Present Mic's old friend: dead, villain, or they think he's dead but he's actually a villain? Take your pick.

Though maybe that last one would be too close to whatever is going to be the case with Dabi.

Here is a question regarding the setting of the world...

How many percent of the world population do you think are pro-heroes?

Considering that the majority of the 80% who got a quirk got one that's not fit for the job, I'm curious on what you think is a proper percentage for the professional heroes who exist in the world at the moment.

Also take into account that all the other countries have a crime rate of 20-30% (with Japan being the exception during All Might's time at 6% which is now gradually going up due to his retirement), then heroes aren't plenty enough to keep the crime down to single-digits in all the other countries.

So what is a reasonable number of heroes in the world?

8%?

5%?

1%

Or a different number?

What do you all think?

[up][up]I think their friend was a fellow student who failed to pass the Hero Course. Remember Aizawa's words from back in the beginning "nothing is crueler than a dream that gets cut short halfway through".

[up] Maybe this guy pushed himself and his quirk too hard, ending up crippling him, and forcing him to leave the hero course due to those injuries?

Considering how Aizawa acted during the very first day of Class-A's year, especially towards Izuku, he might have gotten a sense of deja-vu and acted in a way that he wished he had acted with his friend before the accident?

For context, the link posted [up][up] goes to a picture of the description of what's titled "BNHA Vol 8 DVD Drama CD" and involves Bakugo and Todoroki getting accosted by the brother of a guy from a prior Drama CD who apparently tried to use his quirk to do sexy poses. This guy wants revenge by making them do sexy poses in public.

Aizawa's point that it's better for people to get cut out now, than make it through and not actually be ready (and die). "Cruelty" in the context doesn't refer to kicking people out, but letting them stay in when they're not qualified, so I don't think that works.

More and more it just seems like Aizawa was also like Shinso and was also a transfer into the Hero Course. I had thought it was possible before, but he seems to really be implying it now.

My own mind keeps going back to that story Nejire told before Class A took on Mirio, about a Hero Course student who dropped out because of a case of Can't Catch Up

[up]Oh, that was a thing wasn't it? There might have even been a pan to Aizawa while she was saying that. Huh maybe I should reconsider then.

Almost makes me think of Gentle, though I'm pretty sure he's not the one they are talking about.

He was well before their time, and he didn't really drop out.

I'm pretty sure he meant that it was better kick out underqualified students early rather than getting their hopes up and having them work their asses off just to have them fail a year or two later anyway (students without potential don't actually complete the hero Course, especially not in a top tier school like UA).

An off-the-cuff idea for what happened, Aizawa may well have, as LBSK suggested, risen up from another course like Shinso. In his class was a student who, like Bakugo, probably entered school with a reputation for talent and a big head only to discover they were a Normal Fish in a Tiny Pond but, unlike Bakugo, didn't have it in them to overcome their initial failures and dropped out.

For an extra twist of the knife, when Aizawa goes pro, said former classmate is apprehended by Eraser Head as a villain.

I remember watching the original Drama CD thats a sequel too. The guy was trying to get photos to nale a scandal about I recall.

Oh gosh they're just going to keep having more siblings who keep finding ways to get Bakugou and Todoroki into sexy poses situations aren't they?

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.
