Huh in recent news.
Hori is now the first foreigner to win the Korean Comic Award.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I personally thought the arc was pretty fun. Besides the most serious points with Shinso and Izuku, I figure the most obvious secondary reasons were to show off Class B in the event that Horikoshi wants to use any of them as individuals later, and also to show off/set up stuff with individuals Class A members as he sees fit.
Not super serious, but as I've mentioned before I think that's just going to be the pattern from now on.
In regards to fashion. In Korea the current trend is apparently pants that end above the ankles and short socks, so Overhaul and Dabi are not that bad in that respect, at least. And Twice's outfit looks pretty cool. La Brava and Gentle have a theme and their costumes are well-fitted and pretty color-coordinated, so I dunno what the poster is complaining about. Kurogiri, while a sharp-dressed man, works as a one-off. These are super-villains, not the Mafia or the IRS.
And congrats to Hori for winning that award. Crossing cultural divides and overcoming biases stemming from generations-old feuds FTW.

So I finally saw Two Heroes. It was… okay, I guess. The villain was weak (a problem a lot of shōnen movies have, really), but I liked Melissa and Dave a lot as characters. It's a good addition to the series' lore, since it explores a tiny bit a side of heroism that people who don't have any Quirks (or might as well not have any) can still be a part of. And seeing Deku find a fellow nerd to be friends with was kinda heartwarming.
Along with funny little details, like Tooru playing rock-paper-scissors with carboard signs because… yeah.
And of course, Deku and All Might fighting together was a treat. I also appreciate efforts to tie this with the main story somewhat with All for One's indirect involvement. The girls even had something to do, imagine that!
The only scene that bugged me a little me was the reveal that Dave planned a fake attack to get back his invention. It makes perfect sense that Melissa is shocked because she knows the attack was real, but Dave thought it was all fake… yet he's all grave and somber, as if he knew it was real from the start. Not a deal-breaker or anything, but a bit awkwardly done.
So yeah, t'was fine.

Yeah, it's difficult to make a good film of a series because there's always the continuity issue. I would like to see a series where after it's made it big the mangaka gets together with a director and some screenwriters to actually make a movie that is integrated into the main plot of the show and perhaps have a big arc in the manga that the movie then "adapts".
Hey, has anyone else wondered what could have happened if quirks had started appearing even earlier than they did in-story?
Like, not modern-times occurrences?
Less quirkless in the current timeline as consequence alone?
Rewritten history?
Even less technological advancement?
Is it just me or have anyone else been pondering about this topic yet?

Watching videos of the Injustice games somehow made me start imagining what a Wild West superhero setting might be like.
Closest we have to that I know of is Jonah Hex, a manga featuring zodiac based guns, Et Cetera, and, now that it's occurred to me, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run.

Regarding wild west superheroes, there's an Elseworlds story where Superman was sent to Earth as a baby in the 1800's and winds up fighting in the Civil War.
IIRC, he singlehandedly wins it for the Union, but becomes disillusioned with the government using him as a living weapon/attack dog. Then he finds his space ship and Jor-El reveals he was intended to land in a Native American settlement and be raised by them. Then instead of building him the Fortress of Solitude, the ship becomes a robot horse and Supes essentially becomes The Lone Ranger and rides around helping people.

As cool as a robo-horse would be... he can fly. It seems a bit unnecessary.

Refresh my memory. What was that thing that also has the abbreviation "USJ," which made the students say "Sounds like Universal Studios Japan. >.>" XD
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!
