I've long theorised that Mina, or someone close to her, is a fan of old (from their perspective probably classic) sci-fi. Because she didn't just try to name herself Alien Queen, she dresses like a Pink Skinned Space Babe from the original series of Star Trek
Feels bad to be a Jo Jo dub VA and say the dumb renames
It occurs to me that Setsuna's color scheme might be based on Mystique, though I've also seen a comparison to an actual lizard that seems pretty similar.
Though I still put money on Shinso being put in Class A, it might be a nice nod if, when he does, Monoma is pointedly not an asshole to him even though he's in the "detestable" rival class.
I can't believe that a post that I made regarding Monoma and Eri far back at the Culture Festival Arc is actually going to be happening for real!!
That aside, I wonder how confused Monoma must be by now regarding Midoriya's quirk and what happened. since he has seen in in action and the arm-breaking himself, yet came up with nothing to the point he called it a "dud"? The paradox must be wrecking the copycat's brain at this point of insanity...
That aside, surprised over this being a Thursday chapter...is it something going on that's the reason for this schedule-pull?
Edit: Also, I'm seriously wondering if the reference for Reiko's hero name actually is "The Exorcism of Emily Rose"?

That's as good explanation for the name as any. With that, the only Class B hero names we don't know are Tsuburaba's and Pony's.
I've seen it speculated before that Aizawa also was a late transfer like Shinso, and I think that's what the little flashback might be implying. I wonder who the guy next to teenage!Present Mic is.
By the way, it's not super important but both translations left out some dialogue, when Izuku is praising Shinso, Shinso is wondering to himself if Izuku is making fun of him. Like I said, not super important, but there it is.

Considering how Monoma phrased it, it could be the case that he can't copy every quirk out there. It might depend on the individual, as in even if there were two people with identical quirks, he might be able to copy from one but never the other. These would be rare cases, but he's come across them before.
Monoma copying Eri's quirk sounds like a recipe for disaster, so maybe Aizawa wants to help train Eri to control her quirk, and is bringing Monoma along as a second power nullifier in case things go to shit.
Pretty sure Monoma just meant "Midoriya is weird, so things might not go as planned" because that's what he and Shinso were talking about when it first came up. They don't know why because they don't know about One for All, just that it was something to consider.

I object to Gentle and La Brava's outfits being tacky. They're elegant and refined in their own unique way.
Wow, that Mina-Ochako-Izuku moment. That is a new level of blushing.
Now that it is almost over, I liked this arc a lot myself, poor pacing aside. It had basically everything I have been hoping to find out about class 1B's Quirks, personalities and Hero-names, and I liked what Horikoshi's done with Shinsou, a character I was at best apathetic to before. Some people could have put on a better performance sure, but some got a sorely needed chance to shine too, from Tsuyu's skills as a tactician, and Bakogu's character development playing a role in combat, to Ururaka going full Martial Arts Hero on 1B.
I'm still not sure what I think about it overall. The battles themselves were fun, but it feels like 90% of what happened in this arc didn't really have much relevance to the bigger picture. Aside from Shinso's development, and Deku upgrading OFA, there wasn't a whole lot of actual progression.
Although the implication of trying to use Monoma's power to better understand how Eri's quirk works is an interesting development.
Reaction Image RepositoryYeah, I honestly didn't see the Monika thing coming, and in hindsight I really should have because I once posted a WMG for Tiger & Bunny that was essentially that exact scenario (a character with Power Copying abilities similar to Monoma's becoming a counselor for kids whose powers were coming in and/or were hard to control).
so Shinsou is in, but we still don't know what class he's in. I feel like there are still surprises in store for us.
One Strip! One Strip!

I still wonder how the anime is going to handle Class B's copyright-filled play.
