Either that, or his own body has Required Secondary Powers that immediately prevent activation if the copied Quirk is harmful to him.
But yeah, the idea that he only copied the default Quirk that had no accumulated power also works.

Disgusted, but not surprisedLiking the Mineta-Pinky combo move though. Only Mineta would take the time to play a pervert move into and make it a legit strategy in order to turn himself into a human pinball.
That aside, I can already smell the reaction regarding Deku's seemingly Instant Expert moment with Black Whip in the last page...oh, I pray this won't get ugly...
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that this quirk probably doesn't have such a dangerous learning curve. That, and all the training he's been doing already might've carried over in teaching him how to adjust and deal with a new power, so he'd have a better chance at figuring out how it works when he doesn't have to learn from scratch.
Reaction Image RepositoryThe quirk did activate. Monama used the cultivated power of...himself. He moved exactly as fast as Monama could with the proportional strength of a Monama-sized Monama.
And just how evil would it be if Ashido and Mineta combined their Quirks and make acid covered balls that can not be unstuck. It would be pretty gory.

Essentially, it gave him the power of an MC which essentially accumulated in...nothing.
It's actually a bit hilarious really, since this is exactly what would happen in real life if someone tried to be a superhero without the favor of the author or outside influences to grant them an immunity to fate required powers to pull it off.
Real life Shounen Hero filled with nothing but the high of illusion = Subdued into a submission hold by a barehanded woman with martial art training, no powers required.
So funny...
That's...gonna raise a few flags.
I think Ochako is going to be in on the secret after this. There's no way Deku can just cover this up; it was excusable when his quirk was just seen as super strength.
But now he's developed another quirk and Monoma couldn't copy it even though as far as everyone else is concerned, he should be able to.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.
