I could see Deku having multiple quirks making him a target for villains and those who like Playing with Syringes.
Turns out the rest of the Quirks are mostly useless.
The first Quirk dissolves slime on contact.
The second Quirk allows you to sense the point value of headbands.
The third Quirk just gives you resistance to temperature extremes.
The fourth Quirk renders anyone who makes contact with your blood unconscious.
The fifth Quirk causes exposed muscles to relax.
The sixth Quirk allows you to detect compressed ice.
Nothing all that useful.
I honestly don't have much of an opinion on the recent developments beyond "we don't know whether it'll screw up the story or not until we know more about it." There are just too many open questions that could determine whether or not this is a good or bad thing in the long run:
We don't know:
- How much control Deku actually as over these new powers (as others have noted, there's plenty of potential for him to injure himself or others if he can't control the power properly)
- What the other quirks are (for all we know, most of them might be weak enough to the point that they only marginally increase his utility, or they're extremely situational, etc.)
- How those quirks might interact with each other. It's entirely possible that they might not be compatible and force him to find workarounds.
- How it's going to influence his relationship with All Might in light of the new info about the quirk.
- How the league of villains (who still have some of those quirk-cancelling bullets) are going to react to it.
TL;DR while it certainly has the potential be a shark jumping moment, we can't really call it either way until we see how it actually impacts the story in light of all the factors in play.
Reaction Image RepositoryAlso, I'm kind of surprised that no one has commented on how Monoma was probably trying to copy One For All there.
This situation is interesting because Team B was working under the thought process of "If things come to a brawl, Midoriya will dominate" and now things have come to a brawl so...

Stockpiling power charges them up
So Black Whip Venom tentacles gets at least as strong as Venom movie symbiote
Reading the chapter makes me more at ease with this development, and I honestly trust Horikoshi a lot that I feel he can make it work
But I can totally get why some won't be thrilled with this.
What happened there?
The main character is from a long line of ninja masters with fire powers, and he too can talk with his predecessors in his "inner world" to try getting their powers. Although unlike MHA, the "powers from predecessor" part happen early in the series.

Well, becoming a Top Hero seems to come with a lot of wealth, though unfortunately that's earned.
More seriously, thinking about it, I feel like this development is probably so that situations can continue to get more intense without having the rely on Izuku going 100%.
Since he's already established that doing so a couple more time when render his arms unusable, but he doesn't want to do any huge leaps in power he can use comfortably.
So these new powers, on top of being (potentially) interesting, are so that he has more options as the fights escalate. Which is kind of cheap, or at least sounds like it, but it all depends on the execution to me.

Or knows the codes for AFO's secret bank accounts. (from when OFA still was alive, that is.)
That aside, I'm expecting that a third of the OFA quirks will be powers of the What Kind of Lame Power Is Heart, Anyway? variety, probably belonging to the two eclipsed shadows seen in the Mind Hive. (And would make it hilarious if the reason that those two are hiding in the shadows is due to quirk-shame and not a serious one.)
That aside, it will be nice to see what Nana's quirk is...

So I've seen people saying this is like Flame of Recca.
What happened there?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
