Theoretically, if he was no longer consciously in control, this might subside? I mean, would Todoroki’s Quirk still work if he was brainwashed in mid-use, for example?
Oh God! Natural light!Well, Deku is being held high in the air courtesy of One for Venom, meaning that if that stops being a thing that is true, Deku is left in free fall with tenuous-if-not-nonexistent control of his powers. Plus maybe Uraraka can use some of that Gunhead martial arts to get Deku in a joint lock and maybe stop him from hurting himself/others. Shinsou's purpose in this plan is obvious. Get Deku to say something to him, control him and perhaps try to incapacitate him.
All of this is people acting on incomplete information, unaware that One for All is possibly its own entity, a quirk that has gained self-awareness. Even All Might doesn't know what the heck is going on. I doubt any of the predecessors did. This is probably some sort of trigger OfA Prime put in place that would only activate at the right time. So for all that, they're coping with the situation as best they can with the information they have available.

Because in Mirio's flashback sequence before being de-quirked we see that Nejire has been interested in Tamaki for awhile.
And then with the whole beauty contest with the audience reactions, we focus on him last, as he calls her a "pure fairy" and stuff.
You're right that if homosexual pairings are actually on the table Mirio/Tamaki makes more sense. I'm just not convinced that's actually on the table.
To take your Bakugo/Kirishima reference, Mirio is also Tamaki's first true friend, and that's how their relationship has been emphasized.

As for the "interested for a while" thing, not really. Nejire thought that only Tamaki was as strong as her, and was ecstatic when it turned out Mirio was as well, which does very little to suggest romance.
The difference is that Mirio gave Tamaki confidence and treated him kindly as a child, and that was what made Tamaki regard him so highly. Bakugou always had people sucking up to him throughout childhood, such as Deku, but until Kirishima nobody got through to genuine friendship. Because of that, I think the former dynamic is much more easily translated to a healthy romance.
As for actually being on the table, the only m/m romance in Shonen Jump I genuinely believe is on the table is Gon/Killua, and that's only because Togashi has balls of brass and a well-recorded interest in LGBT themes.

Does anyone actually read these? Not going to lie, the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw One For All's most recent development were "Did Izuku just get a shoggoth attached to his arm?" (Yes, I know everyone else thought "Venom" when they saw it, but I'm not a comic book type and have never actually read one in my entire life, so I make references from what I have read instead... may it be H.P Lovecraft or otherwise.)
So here is my question regarding this.
What are those tendrils made off?
Here are the options:
1. Hard light. (energy turning into semi-gelatic substance. Transmitter-Type quirk of unknown origin)
2. Blood (energy manifested through his body, Transmitter-Type quirk.)
3. Darkness ( Tokoyami kind of deal...not really sure what type of quirk that is though...)
4. A physical mutation-type quirk (meaning that the arm actually transformed permanently into this "shoggoth tissue" and will remain as a dark arm of this matter once it all has settled down. Essentially giving Deku an appendage that can't be broken anymore, due to not having actual...well...human anatomy left in it.)
5. A unknown transformer-type quirk (Same as above, only the tissues transform into the "shoggoth tissue" when the quirk is being used, yet turns back into a normal hand once the activation is turned off.)
6. (insert other option here)
This is pure speculation of course, and since we might have to wait a bit longer than usual for what's coming, there won't be any harm in engaging in this, right?
What do you all think is happening here?

I think they are trying to do a Call-Back to the first time Ochacko saved Deku from killing himself.
