[up][up]What it does is "give super strength". At this point they clearly know the whole "destroy body" part is optional. Now you could say he shouldn't/wouldn't take the risk, but these matches have been filled with the characters taking risks like that.

[up]Hey, like Aizawa said, the strategy itself was sound, it was going up against someone like Bakugo that wasn't expected. Honestly I kind of like it that he has his own, "philosophy" that he tries to abide by that amounts to more than just "fuck Class A".

It feels like it has been a really long while since the last we saw Deku this confident.
He's probably in his "competitive mode" thanks to Bakugo's big win.

@HandsomeRob: Unintentionally of course, but yes, that's what I'm suggesting.

...It's just a guess, though, and not a particularly likely one. We'll have to see what this connection entails and how it works, assuming that it's anything concrete or reliable to begin with.

I don’t think it’s especially likely - the USJ attack was based on information that Deku didn’t have, for one thing.

One thing though, I'm not really sure about how I feel about All Might calling them "friends".

Things might be better between the two now, but I still don't think they're actually there yet. Although I guess with Bakugo, it's kind of hard to tell.

They’ve become fine rivals at the very least.

But yeah it’s hard to tell with Bakugo about friendship. Maybe need to as Kirishima about this. tongue

I was amused seeing Bakugou clearly trying to look cool in front of All Might and then Deku comes up and ruins it.

All Might called them "childhood friends" right? At least the Jamini's Box translation used that term, which makes me think All Might used "osananajimi". That may not necessarily mean "friends" in the "best buds" sense but simply in the "we grew up together sense". We just don't have the specific term for it like the Japanese language does.

On a related note, at the end when they mention Gigantomachia, are they referring to him arriving at Tartarus itself? Or are they simply referring to Gran Torino's encounter with him? I've noticed a thing with a lot of Japanese-to-English translations to translate things as "the other day" regardless of actual time elapsed. Then again, I think it actually has been two days since then and now, so maybe I'm overthinking it.

Ah the subtleties of the Japanese language, can certainly be tricky translating it.

All Might not actually calling them friends but connected makes sense.

They translated too literally?

I'll try to remember to check the official English on Monday, I'll see how they translate it.

On another note, I kinda feel bad for Setsuna here. It's like she understands how badly they lost. It's not entirely her fault, but it really kinda blows to know you lost without really accomplishing anything significant.

And it's funny how despite how his class treats him, Monoma is still treated as Class B's face.

I'm not sure if this is a bit of fanon gone out of control (it could be- I've read more fic for this series than I have the actual series), but I hear that One for All is the one quirk that All for One can't steal. If Monoma tries and fails to copy One For All, it could mean that the quirks are somehow connected.

To bring things a bit closer to, er, "reality," Monoma is able to copy a quirk at its current strength- Bakugou started out with sparks, and Kirishima's hardening was far from impenetrable at the start, but when Monoma copied them he could use then fill force- we don't know how fine-tuned his control is. If Copy has a Required Secondary Power that gives him intuitive control of quirks he copies, it could be a problem. Then again, maybe he'd only be able to use a small percentage of the total power- he'd still be outclassed if he can only safely use, say, 10%

[up][up]And Yanagi might be another chuuni.

[up]I don't know about the whole "All For One can't steal One For All" thing (though it would make sense) but I've sort of been assuming intuitive control is how it works with Monoma. Copying powers would be useless otherwise.

Two days since Gran Torino encountered him when he captured Kurogiri, you mean? Because I'm pretty sure that was awhile ago in-universe. Certainly longer than two days.

My reading is that Giganto has been showing up periodically and they just can't do anything about him. As for whether he's actually been causing any trouble, who knows.

So anyone know anything about Ultraman? Apparently Yui's costume is probably based on him.

Guy turns into a giant alien humanoid to fight monsters.

Or if you want something recent and anime, SSSS Gridman. The original Which is made by the same folks as Ultraman where a guy becomes a giant digital being in the web to fight Kaiju infecting the net.

Whose english version of the original Gridman had Tim Curry as the villain

In the original Ultraman, the alien accidentally killed a guy and merged with him to save his life. They end up forming a symbiotic relationship as a result. The alien also benefits since he can't remain active on Earth for any longer than three minutes at a time in his true form since he needs a lot of solar power.

It's never been outright confirmed, but we do know that a) One For All can't be stolen (at least not by eating a piece of the holder), and b) that All for One can steal quirks very easily, since we saw him do a triple-steal while dashing by some people in the flashback.

So logically, the only explanation for why he didn't just take One for All back at some point during one of his many fights with the holders is that he's incapable of doing so.

One For All likely can't be stolen by any means simply due to its inheritance mechanism. It can only be passed on if the user wills it, and only by the recipient ingesting the user's DNA...which implies that it can't be taken away by someone else (anti-quirk bullets don't count since they destroy the quirk), and especially not via any other method.
