Silver Spoon did exactly that, actually.
I was just about to comment on that series, and how I could see something similar happening here, yeah.
Or at least breezed past, since by then they, and by extension we, will have an understanding of just what school life at UA entails. There will be far less need to focus on the training exercises or regular classes vs work studies in the field, for instance.
I wouldn’t be surprised if some huge crisis caused the school to be closed down for most of second year, frankly.
Oh God! Natural light!Though, I still can't help but think he has probably lingered on their first year longer than originally intended.
A Time-Skip is only natural eventually.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yeah, it's probably gonna get milked. Look, we haven't even gotten to All for Two and Two for All yet
Skipping ahead so everyone is out of UA I feel would be best.
I'm pretty sure that's epilogue stuff - this is a series about their education, after all. My Hero Academia.
I'm sure they'll have their chance to be proper heroes by the final arc.
Oh God! Natural light!Would a sequel series be called My Hero Collegia?
Isn’t college still an Academia?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."My Hero Academia: Collegia
I don't think they need to go to college for this anyway.
Oh God! Natural light! At most I imagine we'll get an epilogue or something of them when they're all adults out in the world.
But I don't see a significant portion of the series is going to just be them as adults doing adult hero work.
Granted we might get a sequel, it just won’t be written by Hori.
It’s a big IF but it’s possible.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I kind of hope this doesn't turn into one of those series that gets a billion sequels, prequels, and in-betweens.
It all depends on how much Jump wants to milk it.
Then again I don’t really ever see them doing that oddly enough.
I mean I know Fairy Tail has a shit ton of spin-offs but I can’t think of anything from One Piece.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Considering WSJ series seem almost addicted to time skips, I'm certain this one will eventually get one too. That said, we'll probably just fast forward 2-3 years. It's small enough to where they can still be considered students, but long enough to justify new character designs :V
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Given the title of the series, I doubt it would skip to the point that they're out of school completely, at least not until near the end.
A time skip to their last year is entirely plausible though.
Reaction Image RepositoryThe series seems to be making it a point that they're doing things faster than normal what with getting their provisional license and the internships, but I'm sure he can still think of school stuff for them to do.
I hope this doesn't go the route of Shokugeki No Soma, where the school setting and what they're supposedly learning doesn't start to feel extraneous.
And ya know, Artifact Title is a trope. The title is just that, a title. Dragon Ball stopped being about the dragon balls long ago and it's still going.
The series at it's core is about everyone pushing to be the best heroes they can be, you don't necessarily need a school setting for that.
EDIT: Since the series is heavily based on American comics, I wouldn't be surprised if the series did jump to when the cast are at least young adults.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Well Deku could always be a teacher.
So it still be his academia, he'd just be teaching it.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."That's true, but thematically the series has always been about the process of learning how to become a hero. Have them actually be full fledged heroes too long before the resolution doesn't feel like it would quite fit with how he's portrayed it thus far.
Reaction Image RepositoryYea, but at some point they're going to have to become full fledged heroes otherwise we're going to drag. Its already been established that Deku's generation are better than a lot of the pros aside from the top of the top, so there's not much reason to keep them in a school setting for very long.
It's not just about learning the processes of becoming a hero, it's also about Deku becoming the greatest hero. And it's not like they still can't continue to learn being outside of a school setting.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.
I wouldn't be surprised if at least their second year is mostly skipped.
