I personally wasn't expecting a SOL, from the description I was expecting some kind of battling and world saving.

I have an uncanny ability to be top of a page.

They were... pretty open about it being a Magical Girl series. I'm honestly not clear on how people ended up expecting it to be a Slice of Life show

Episode 1. In which there's a pause.

Well, that act certainly fell out. Managed to save it, though. Bit would it really be much of a problem to just raise the cover again?

It's not often you see tarot cards like that.

HTML code. Including jQuery. Neat.

Not quite your average call.

That makes me think of rainbow coloured Creeper. Probably not quite as hostile, though.

Fuu reminds me of Mami. Well, not like that's an uncommon sentiment. I think I'd like to see her head go, then get revealed she didn't actually die.

With a little determination transforming isn't a problem.

Episode 2. In which there is range.

Sure, exact words aren't important. Good time to tell them.

That isn't a cow. It's a cow-like fairy.

That's sure something to be excited about. Mushrooms. Well, maybe if you're Mario. Or Marisa.

Can't say I particularly like her transformation.

Good thing they're a little more resistant to damage while transformed.

Can't say I particularly like her transformation either. Nor outfit.

Gun, shotguns, sniper rifle. Good arsenal, so there's at least something good with her.

Her sword can be almost as large as Rakan's.

Funniest part of the episode: Fuu apologising more after witnessing the destruction Togo can bring.

Also, Togo's fairies are cuter than the others'. Especially the bear-like one. And the egg.

[up]I thought it was a Slice of Life at first. But at that time I had seen one image of it, and read nothing. Decided to actually watch it when I found out it had a little more than just that.

I wasn't sure about this at first, but decided to give it a try. Glad I did. It's interesting.

Episode 3!

- When you think about it, the premise is more like Persona 3 with lolis than it is Madoka Magica.

- Karin, the snarky loli, appears. And her faerie can speak.

- Gyuki really enjoys meat. All types of meat...

- Now, now, Death can just mean change, or the end of a cycle or death. But the Tower's the really ominous card.

- As a SERIOUS ATHELETE Karin is watching her diet unlike some people.

- Well, she still just eats convenience store food, but somewhat healthy convenience store food.

- "I can't believe they chose you as a hero." Well, you see, they choose people based totally on magical aptitude without regard to age, intelligence, physical ability, maturity level, age...

- God dang, eating the exact same pre-made health food every day, she's eerily similar to my coworker/frenemy. It's creeping me out.

- Karin, why you so tsundere...

- Really cute ending. waii

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.

And the opening changed to show transformed Togo too. I wonder if Karin will also get a slot, she did get into the ending, so that's something. Also, I have the impression Karin is gonna be 'The Mario' for the team.

So the fifth magical girl is red, a rash but competent loner, and didn't show up in the promotional material...

Also, I guess levelling is a thing. Presumably what that flower counter is. Still think it's kind of ominous!

[up]I kept thinking "she's doomed" throughout the ep. And then the whole thing turned out to be Slice of Life.

I'm still not convinced this series is what it appears to be.

The characters are too optimistic about their state of affairs.

I will laugh if the entire season keeps piling up worrying little things, while events continue to go well and everyone is optimistic and friendly... And then we get to the end and we all stop to go "wait weren't things supposed to get dark at some point, I was sure they would."

I'd be pretty okay with it either way, really. It's nice to have a central cast whose response to a stereotypical Tsundere is "smile and overwhelm her with friendly positivity," but there's a lot of little things that could make a darker turn interesting.

Episode 3. In which the cookie crumbles.

A challenger has appeared! Or an ally of some sort. Somewhat arrogant, but seems to have the skills to back it up. I wonder how long it will take for her to get taken down a peg. Unless she's the one who dies, then there are several pegs.

Oh, I actually placed the teacher's voice. Clone.

She's saying someone shouldn't be smug? Also, newbie to someone who's been at it longer?

Totally not jealous of the girl who has three.

Death card. I'm more worried about the Tower next to it. And the Devil next to that.

Fuu isn't worried.

On the other hand, Karin seems worried.

You know, if you're alone at a location at the right time, checking you're at the right location would probably be one of the first things you should do.

Why would they have the club entry form with them there?

Marking stuff in a calender like that kind of loses its point if you're marking everything.

"Shut up, shut up, shut up!" I've been thinking. Is she actually a tsundere?

So that's her actual hair length. Looks good.

Good Slice of Life episode.

Wheelchairs gonna die first. Trust me, I've seen a poster where the mascot is there, but wheelchair is not. She gonna die. I garantee it.

A good writer puts in a lot of details in there story. But a great one gets a story from a single detail.

But she's a crip- handicapped person. Even South Park treats its handicapped better. I do think she will die just not the first. My first bet was club president so her little sister would go into depression and kill herself for a double kill. But then first blood new girl shows up and with the death flags she raised in the episode, she's got to die

We're gonna spend the entire show trying to guess who dies or not, waiting in anticipation and dread, and when everyone ends up okay people aren't going to know whether to feel relieved or cheated.

wild mass guess Everyone but Togo and Karin, the two with the most death flags, dies. Togo and Karin become bitter rival dark magical girls. But they end up becoming a couple in the last episode.

The promotional material for this show means nothing. They've been obsessive about hiding anything that comes after the first episode, and even plenty of stuff in it

And I'd actually give Tougou and Karin fairly good chances. Tougou is the interesting, unique character and Karin would be more interesting reacting to someone dying than dying herself. It's the sisters I'd expect to die— Fuu is the leader but doesn't have her name in the title, and the show wouldn't lose anything by killing Itsuki

I think I would legit cry tears of joy if this happened. Please (anime) God, let me have a happy dream for once.

A Hero Emerges! Well, another one, anyway. And she's a sword user, but she doesn't have BFS as a part of her skill-set. Leave that to Fuu.tongue

Now, Karin. Being a hero and being serious about it is good and all, but with these girls, you'll learn the awesome art of taking it easy. And they celebrated your birthday when no one else did, yeah?smile

Level up, eh? So, how are stats distributed? By the deathly will of the Random Number God(dess), or do they get to choose which stat to improve on?tongue

Speaking of leveling up, Fuu mentioned that they're still at Level 1. What? But... Five dead Vertices... Man, leveling up is hard, just like in Shin Megami Tensei.tongue

Assuming it's the flower counter, it'd be closer to Disgaea. Only the killing shot counts
