By definition, a Mini Series only has one season—or no seasons, depending on how you look at it. The ten episodes that are airing this week are the entire show.

I caught up with Episodes 1 and 2.
Wow.
It feels almost like the stories I was read to as a kid. If the animation was just a bit more fluid, this may be indistinguishable from the old animated specials I saw then too! I like how there are dark undertones. Though I wonder why we're following these 2 kids if we know nothing about them or their hometown. Episode 2 was more enjoyable to me since it provided some closure to the weird stuff happening, rather than Episode 1 which only solved some of the mysteries.
This series is labeled as a "mystery" on some places online, but I have no idea what mystery we're trying to solve here, if there IS one big arc at all.
When will the pilot come online? Really want to see Tome of the Unknown.
That's not Tome of the Unknown. The one I'm referring to is the one with the pumpkin man, John Crops.
There definitely is an ongoing plot. And when people are calling it a "mystery" series, they don't mean like detective fiction, it's more like discovering what these people and places the characters run into really are.
That's just the first episode of the show. He meant the short film from 2013 the series is based on which has only been shown at film festivals. I've had no luck finding it either.

The episodes are definitely structured like old-fashioned ghost stories narratively, at least so far. The atmosphere, the wandering into something otherworldly, the creeping suspense and questions about what's real about their situation, or whether they're truly safe as things start to get weirder... and the intent is otherwordliness, not fear - the adventures may be scary at times, but that's a result of the atmosphere rather than the focus on it.
I really like it, because you don't really get that kind of telling in stuff these days. It makes for an awesome aesthetic for the series as a whole.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I wonder how the pilot, Tome of the Unknown, fits into the narrative of the episodes shown on Cartoon Network. Or is it just a side story?
From what's mentioned about it in this interview linked on the last page, it's a separate continuity (Wirt and Greg had a "mysterious book" that gave the film its name, so when they decided to get rid of it for the series they changed the title).

So, I posted a few of my reactions to the first couple of episodes. Really looking forward to the second set tonight.
Greg gets a bit of an improvement in this episode. He's still inconveniencing others on a whim, but at least this time he has a "his heart is in the right place" thing going for him. I hope they run with that a little more in the future.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Watching right now,and I'm... Not entirely sure what to think.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerThis series keeps making me wonder what time period it's supposed to take place in. It seems colonial, but it's apparently after hot dogs were invented and the story of American Thanksgiving became publicized, so it's got to be towards the end of the 1800's at the earliest.
I don't recognize the Beast's voice actor's name (Samuel Ramey) but I feel like I should recognize his voice from somewhere. Wikipedia lists him as an opera star, which would likely make this his first animated role, so I dunno.
It seems to be a trend that the second episode of every night is better than the first.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Okay, the 4th episode finally made me realize what this show's trying to do. Before this, I had no idea what it was! I just thought it was small mysteries solved within each episode, and for 2 of the first 4 episodes it was! But the Woodsman comes back, the Beast is mentioned yet again, and the lantern stuff returns!
Was Jim voiced by Mike Judge??
...my GOD, Beatrice is rude!
I don't think it's supposed to take place in any one time period. This is fantasy anyway. The creator said "pre-1920's".

Is it weird that this show makes me think of early Genesis? The only thing that made me think that is one lyric in "I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe) that mentions things over the garden wall.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatIs it me or are they trying to make Wirt and Beatrice a ship?

#IceBearForPresidentHow exactly was the gorilla suit stuck?
I just checked this series out. My favourite part about it so far is the character dynamics between the three main characters. Although the cliffhanger at the end of episode 4 seems pretty interesting as well. I'm surprised this wasn't considered too mean-spirited for CN.
I forgot to watch yesterday! Now I have to play catch-up to watch tonight!
So episode 3: These non-talking, but clothed and intellectual animals are super amazingly cute! Potatoes and molasses sounds like a terrible combination! That was a sweet conclusion!
Episode 4: Oh hey it's the stick guy!
That potato dog...
That highwayman dance animation was certainly interesting. Holy cow, this series is artistic.
Uh oh. Wurt's in a sticky situation.
Their second interpretation is more accurate.
I thought the beast was the black turtle.
This horse makes the greatest noises ever.
Oh okay so the beast is like a hybrid between Slenderman and Satan that works also he can sing.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot. Here comes a new set of episodes!
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceIf Beatrice was human, did the beast change her? Or Adilade?
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justice"We're scamming him?"
"I wasn't thinking scamming...so much as stealing."
"He's a talking horse. He can choose for himself."
"I choose to steal."
"Now we can have quality time together."
"HELP!"
I love this show.

Since this is a mini-series, chances are it won't have as much air time as AT or such, but mabey they'll continue the advventure like the first week of Spring, and again in Winter, and so on and so on. That kind of seasonal.
