How long was the ceasefire?

Four hours.

Oh, you guys should probably just prepare for battle. No actual fightung until the royals give the order.

"Also, my uncle called the princess a fat cow, which I thought a tad harsh, even by his standards."

In recent news coming straight from the capital of Blanche, BL-01, High Command expresses their renewed passion for the war effort, citing Lord Gawaine as 'An evil that must certainly be destroyed for the sake of Justice'

On our variety news, it seems as Princess Ekaterina will soon be undergoing a diet, wait for our broadcast next week for the exciting '10 delightful super ordered dieting tips from her Highness' and 'Heart throbbing exercise routines ~ Princess Recommendations'

Kidding aside I'm seeing what may become a little issue, which is that of meta gaming. Even if we don't mean to, I know that if I have strategy A loosely in mind but I'm not certain of going with it and I see Dragon posting "Obviously those Blanche dogs are going to do A, so I will crush them with B" By the time I'm writing my post, my view strategy will be altered by the knowledge that A will be crushed and that B seems cushy to break with C.

Thus there is danger that both sides may wait for the other to go first in order to counter...? It's not crazy what I'm saying, right?

Should we do something about it, or is it simply the way things go? We can try to make a policy in which we try not to look at what the other side is doing until relevant but that seems complicated... perhaps when it comes to overall strategy we secretly write to the GM about it and to a certain extend 'commit' to it, only having a disadvantage if once both plans are revealed one side needs to change their strategy quickly to deal with an unexpected thing from the other?

There will be no metagaming. I would like it if we keep it IC knowledge only.

And, hmm, yeah, dalt. That idea seems sounds. PM me. Split up, of course, since my phone can't handle long messages.

I had similar worries. I have a pretty cohesive battle plan, all things considered, but I wasn't sure I wanted to post it before bringing it up.

Slightly hindered by not having any knowledge of enemy tactics or resources, also.

Similarly, I have an idea in mind, but don't know the resources of either side, how they are spread out, forces and such.

Yeah, I mean, in a situation like this, it basically comes down to who can B.S. better. For all I know your troops are in gun emplacements, or in APC's, or IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!

I guess its up to you guys to decide. Speaking of, it would be ruthless if pragmatic for Blanche to make the main road leading to the city from the Noire side be littered with roadblocks, potholes and mines. Its scorched earth tactics, but Blanche will be hurt less in the long run unless the plan is to use the city as a staging point for an invasion.

No more than it would for Noire to simply mortar the city to the ground.

Those tactics are why air cover is so important in modern warfare, aircraft and artillery are natural born enemies.

The artillery cant shoot back, and the aircraft can strike hard enough and fast enough to stop there shelling.

Hmmm well then again, we could also consider that we don't exactly know the intentions of the GM with the current set up. Given that it's everyone's first battle and we are getting used to the RP, perhaps we should just straight up march at each other, clash together and RP a fun battle that may or may not end up in a draw.

If instead it would be preferable for us to do tacticool stuff to try and have a winner here, we'll need to know what forces and resources each of us has available and what we know of each other.

What do we do with Prisoners of war? I'm guessing their standards of treatment and rights are lower than what is stated in the Geneva convention here.

Iunno about the Noirean army, but my guys would probably let the grunts go and keep the commanders, nobles etc for a ransom.

Francis and his crew will probably kill them for shits and giggles, centuries of dehumanizing the Northern tyrants and all that. Plus, they'd justify the executions as "denying the enemy manpower", "mercy-killing of injured prisoners" or "Unable to support them with our current logistic standing". Whichever makes sense the most in the current situation.

Your mileage may vary. Wilhelm has very specific conditions for his prisoners' treatment.

Specifically, if he'd just liberated Noire prisoners, and the conditions would have him politely request the presence of the enemy commander, and subsequently disembowel him live on the television equivalent, he won't do it to Blanche prisoners.

[up] Looks like I'm going to be playing Commisar.
