Any sapient being can succumb to existentialism. Most humans go through life without such thoughts ever entering their minds.
Especially poor ones. They're busy enough trying to stay alive to wonder what the point of being alive is.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Perfect music choice during the masturbation scene! 10/10 best soundtrack!
About Murano, the main problem pretty much is that she's really very bland and there doesn't seem to be any kind of development in sight. Her only role is to guide Shinchi to his...System Restore Point (for lack of a better metaphor) and, considering the other more interesting characters running about, some people might find the focus she's getting sort of annoying.

Ooh, I never even considered the possibility of Shinichi blowing his cover by joining the fray.
It shouldn't be a problem for him if the riot squad brought enough flamethrowers or RPG missiles and whatnot. Of course, since this is essentially the final boss we're dealing with, I highly doubt he's gonna get taken down without Shinichi's help.
This signature used to support spoiler tags.Okay, this episode really pissed me off with it's Hollywood Tactics, the soldiers are standing stupidly close to the parasytes even if there is no danger of hitting civilians, none of them take cover, it takes them forever to respond and in generally just aren't too bright. I mean, there's failing a spot check, but the parasytes are just acting completely ridiculous and nobody noticed it. A guy running in the hallway after several dozen gunshots isn't very normal or a group of people walking calmly in the same direction while there's mass panic. You don't have to be a genius.
I'm also fearful the show will turn to "man is the real monster".
Very dramatic episode...
Agreed on the first part (though it didn't bother me too much). As for the "humans are the real monsters" thing, I think it'll be more along the lines of grey and grey and parasytes having as much of a right to live as humans, or Not So Different.
Ok, they recycled the same panning shot of the crowd done in (really obvious) CGI from last episode and I have no idea why. Are fidgeting crowds harder to do in digital?
And seconded on the policemen being dumb overall and especially when they encounter the five-parasyte dude. God, that sequence was dumb.
Yes it is. To some extent. You need to have each person doing a different thing, and even if they're doing the same stuff(say, tapping feet), they need to do them out of sync, at different beats. Then you have the other minor stuff, the twitching eyes/hands. It's all a load of processing power. Granted, you could have a team of people working one person to a digital model, but it's still a pain to bring them all together.
Also, what's the for Go-whatshisname-five-parasytes?
I'm thinking somehow they hid the heart(like Joe's), and/or armoured it with several layers of organic "metal"(the stuff their blades are made from). Crazy part was being able to store all those pellets before firing them back. Methinks they should really have brought a flamethrower/bazooka for this one.

I can sort of excuse the stupid fighting bc they are police, not army. Still, this seems to be the kind of situation you call the SDF for. Not sure why they did it the way they did.
Why not just make up something like quarentine stick everyone in separate rooms to take out the parasites? I mean, even if their plan had worked perfectly, you would think new evacue groups would be unhappy having to walk across giant bloodstains.

It's pretty upsetting.
I have no experience with police work but some stuff seemed really bad like letting that group go amidst the pandemonium.
Goddamn did things go tits up. I'm certainly not advocating "fuck the police". But the most blatant thing that struck me was when that guy got pissed and stood up and Kiritsugu just smokes him.

Then again, the guy decided to be an idiot. There's a better time to demand your civil rights than 2 seconds after armed people are demanding your cooperation and threatening to shoot you if you don't comply.
Yeah, I thought the same about casting Kiritsugu as scar dude.

I do like that aspect of her, but she's had the same character note for many, many episodes, and it's not an amazingly interesting one or anything. Like, contrast her "Shinichi, I don't know you anymore!" with "Where did we come from? Where are we going? Did you ever think of those things, like a human might?" from Best Lady.
