Oh I am well aware that as an actual movie creator, WMM was nothing more than an over-glorified slideshow creator that crashed more than it exported. Considering that all I wanted to do was add a static image for a video game soundtrack like I do every now and again, I think I'll try Lightworks.
(And if you really need to know, I tried making stop-motion animations...and soon came to realize that due to pre-set limitations on how long each picture can be shown for, yeah...it's horribly choppy.)

Living The Fever DreamMicrosoft will explain only 'significant' Windows 10 updates
Microsoft has explained its policy about how much information it will offer on the content of Cumulative Updates to Windows 10.
In a statement sent by a spokesperson to us, Microsoft said: “As we have done in the past, we post KB articles relevant to most updates which we’ll deliver with Windows as a service. Depending on the significance of the update and if it is bringing new functionality to Windows customers, we may choose to do additional promotion of new features as we deploy them.”
The Register asked Microsoft for clarification on the policy after the company issued a new cumulative update for Windows 10 and refused to say what it does other than to say it offered “improvements to enhance the functionality of Windows 10.”
Transferred my essence into a Madeline plushie back in MayI've been doing some research on the Start Menu/Taskbar issue in Windows 10 and all I'm seeing is user fixes that may not resolve it or resolve it only temporarily. Microsoft is supposedly working on a patch. I hope they get it soon, because it's really annoying.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"The issue is that the Windows taskbar will stop responding to clicks. The Start Menu doesn't open, you can't open the search interface, and right-clicking on taskbar objects won't launch their context menus or they will be extremely slow to launch.
The problem seems to be based on corruption in the search indexer.
Some people have reported resolving the issue by logging out and creating a new local user account, then closing it and logging back into your main account.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Restarting does fix it, but only for a short while. I notice it in particular when I resume from sleep.

I had that start happening when I disabled a bunch of start on launch things. Perhaps check your setting for what runs on launch and see if you have any of the microsoft stuff set to not start on launch?
I keep running into memory leaks I think, every so often I just need to restart. It's still better then 8, but I kinda still miss my fully upgraded Vista.

“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranI haven't touched any boot settings.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Hrm. I tried to install 10, using the USB option, and it wouldn't do anything. Selected the USB drive from the boot menu, it shows the pale blue window, and then nothing even after several minutes of waiting. Keyboard commands or mouse movement changed nothing, but hitting the reset button to restart 7 normally works okay. I'm not able to find anything on it via Google.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpSomething appears to have bricked my Windows 10 laptop (an Asus G551JM). As in "won't even load the BIOS" bricked. Anything I can do short of using the warranty? At least it happened on a long weekend.
Removing the battery and replacing it fixed things up. I'm going to have to keep that in mind...

I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotWell, I have me my new laptop with Windows 10 (seeing as it didn't like playing with the graphics and sound cards of my old one and wouldn't let me go back to 7 with them working).
So far, it's OK. Now I've beaten most of the automatic features off.
(Dear Lord, the things it does behind your back...) It works a lot quicker when you start toggling everything you can find to "off".

rollin' on dubs
Thread necro: Windows force scheduling the update to 10.
Which I did with my office PC (I am the non-reimbursed IT guy there, not hard for a firm with all of 3 people). It can run with 10, but since there are 2 XP computers there, I'm not sure if my technophobic colleagues/superiors can handle any networking snarls that arise once I return to college later this month.
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotI'm still not convinced that upgrading from Win7 to Win10 would give a sufficiently net-positive outcome that would make the transition worth it for me.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.
Me neither! I've downloaded the upgrade but yet to install it. Computer keeps bugging me to install but I just ignore the notification.
To be honest, it IS pretty cute

Cyberlink PowerDirector is pretty decent for 150 bucks, 70 if you catch a half off sale (like right now until the 25th)
