Very funny. Especially the ending lol
Supports cartoons being cartoony! At last, the prayers of my brogre brethren have been heard, and the prophet Dreamworks is set to bring us salvation! The second coming of our ogrelord is upon us! It is disheartening to see that the influence of Farquaad weighs heavily upon this thread. The posters may need to check themselves before they Shrek themselves...
OK, I'm sorry, I can't keep this up anymore. I just thought being a brogre would be funny. Serious talk, I don't really care either way about Shrek 5. While the odds suggest a low quality cash-in, there is a chance, albeit a slim one, that we could be pleasantly surprised. These films have been good before, after all. Are Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy doing much nowadays?
Cortex should take a 12-step plan off a 10-step pierHere's an idea I had recently: I kind of wished that they had used a villain from the Arthur mythos for Shrek the Third. Someone like Morgan le Fay? Could have been interesting, either instead of Prince Charming or assisting him.
...Now if they do this for this movie, I just might be interested...
Oh God! Natural light!![]()
The only other franchise that I know that Myers has been in was Austin Powers, and that's been dead after Shrek 1 came out.
Eddie Murphy is largely known for comedies, though I don't know if he'd want to star in modern comedy movies.
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!![]()
Eddie's golden age really was the mid-late 80's, when he had 48Hours, Beverly Hills Cop, and Coming To America under his belt.

For once, I agree with you.
I don't know about Eddie Murphy, but I'm pretty sure we banished Mike Myers to the Land of Unfunny Failure after Love Guru.
Looking for some stories? They've done all to the Arthurian canon that they should be allowed to do. In fact, they've probably done more than they should have been allowed to do.
I'm one of the few people who has never really been a fan of this series. The only reason I like the second one is because of Puss.

Looking for some stories?
I see you are lacking in enthusiasm.
...I mean, most of Dreamworks' output since Shrek the Third has actually been pretty damn good, in my opinion. At the very least, it's substantially above mediocre. They could pull it off.

Oh God! Natural light!Plus, what would an ogre really have business doing in The knights of the round table canon anyways? Unless the ghost of Farquar haunts the rooms of Camelot, I don't see that story really going anywhere.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceHow would you guys/girls rank the Shrek series? (from favorite to least)
My order would be: 1. Shrek
2. Shrek 2
3. Shrek Forever After
4. Shrek the Third
And on topic, my friend hates Dreamworks now because they're making this movie. Keep in mind that she loved the first one and liked 2 a bit, but hated 3 and didn't see 4 at all.
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!
I feel the same.I've grown to like the original more so over the years.2 is still a solid sequel and Puss is still my favorite character in the series(partially because I love cats). The third just feels...off.I can't say exactly why but I've never really found it memorable or all that good(may have to do with that creepy dream sequence involving all those babies). Forever after is better and more enjoyable but not all that spectacular. The Puss in Boots spinoff ranks higher then 3 and 4.
I actually liked the idea of Shrek 4, sort of a "It's A Wonderful Life" kind of spin. Though I remember reading before it came out that Farquad would still be alive and be the villain or something - which would've been great and bring the series full circle. Of course we got Rumplestiltskin instead, who sort of felt like Farquad-lite...meh.
As much as I do like the first two films, I credit them with killing 2D animation. The original Shrek's more adult humor made it more accessible for older people to go see what were "kid's movies," so the 3D medium was perceived as being able to generate a wider audience.
So I'm not looking forward to a continuation of it.
"A king has no friends. Only subjects and enemies."

I also have a VHS tape, but in my parents' house.
The fact that so many of us here have a Shrek VHS tape is only supporting how Dreamworks was convinced it would change the industry.
