Here it's the space for all out out-of-universe exploits related to this little project of mine that might or might not be a good idea but I don't care one way or the other because all I want to to write what I my unstable brain and rotten soul tells me I should just write what's in my head because otherwise I might start slowly going insane because all of the horrifying things that are cluttering my mind so writing them is actually terapeuthic and I hope they might be able to craft an interesting story full of drama insanity tragedy and horror but also hope humanity love and a warped sense of idealism because I don't even know what the hell I'm doing but I like it one way or the other and I'd be honored if you could join me on this journey because writing with other people is awesome and fullfilling and you learn lots of things and get to meet people and stuff so I say let's try this insane thing d00d because I'm tired of NOT doing what I want to do and NOT writing what I want to write!...

Guidebook to the Life, Universe and “Everything” in this story

The world in general

  1. The story's time-frame is located somewhere in the near future, similar to the way the original series did so.
  2. Technology is slightly more advanced that our own, but not to a particularly dramatic extend. Humans still haven't moved into outer space, for example.
  3. For the most par, the Incubators', Puella Magi's and Witches' endeavors are unknown to the general public. The “normal people” that enter in contact with their business have the tendency to die in horrible, yet inexplicable ways, most of the time as collateral damage from their encounters with the Witches, but sometimes as a result of an Incubators' indirect intervention.
  4. An energy crisis is currently going on around the world, with some armed conflicts going on over the dwindling supplies of fossil fuels. Nuclear power is becoming far more prevalent because of it, and the research for alternative energy sources has also increased out of necessity.
  5. Weapon technology has improved substantially over the past few years. Miniaturized magnetic weapons are becoming the new standard for those with the resources and desire to acquire them. However, non-lethal weapons capable of neutralizing subjects with a minimal amount of damage are also far more advanced and reliable.
  6. Most of the 1st World Countries (and some few in 2nd World) are currently connected via a world-scale Vactrain System, which is used to move both goods and people all over the globe at exorbitant speeds. There's even one massive submarine intercontinental tunnel that connects both Europe and America.

The City: St. Arthelais

  1. St. Arthelais is located in America! (Fuck, yeah!) The reason is mostly meta-fictional, and stemmed out of convenience: English is the Lingua Franca in TV-Tropes, after all; and because of the nigh omni-presence of America in modern pop-culture, even those who DON'T live there (like me, your humble host) are quite familiar with it.
  2. Its total size is roughly equal to that of New York's Area, but it's population density is only a half of it, with roughly 3.5 million of habitants. For that matter, a relatively simplified describe it as a “more pristine, idealized and aseptic New York”
  3. St. Arthelais is located in a desertic ecosystem, somewhere near the Rocky Mountains. However, terraforming has been performed on the area itself and some of its nearby zones, transforming it into a fertile and verdant place. It's often compared to an oasis because of its peculiar circumstances.
  4. A nearby artificial lake supplies most of St. Arthelais's demand for fresh water. It's also a common spot for outdoor recreational activities, like camping and swimming, thought boating and fishing are strictly forbidden.
  5. Even though most supplies come from places beyond St. Arthelais, mostly via the Vactrain system, there are some farms on the nearby zones that help suppling it with food and some other essential agricultural resources.
  6. Vegetable life is quite abundant in St. Arthelais itself, making a nice contrast with the state of the art-buildings that cover most of its area. Parks are numerous and well maintained, trees and grass planted on the sidewalks are a rather common sight, and even big buildings tend to have artificial gardens on their rooftops.
  7. The townhall is the heart of the city, and it's the most impressive and the tallest building of them all. It's said that the underground facilities beneath it are even more complex and intricate that the superstructure above it.
  8. The public transport is so efficient, fast, secure, economic and comfortable, that most people don't own a car, because they rarely need them.
  9. Most people live in apartment blocks due to space concerns. That said, they're usually quite spacious, highly modular, well-maintained, and fully functional, making them just as good as (and sometimes better than) a more “traditional” home.
  10. People all around the world, as well as minorities aren't only welcome on St. Arthelais, but heavily encouraged to join as permanent inhabitants. Bigotry is heavily discouraged, with those that incur in it being heavily “penalized” by the authorities themselves.
  11. Cultural venues like theaters, museums, cinemas, auditoriums, conventions centers, and many others are rather common and of high-quality on this place.
  12. Learning institutes are also top-notch in all levels of formal learning. Higher education institutes here are notable for being tuition free... But their standards are also rather high, with no amount of nepotism nor money being able to secure a place for a student they might deem as “inappropriate”. Knowledge, skill, potential, hard-work and determination are the only “currencies” they're interested in.
  13. Almost all kinds of commercial establishments can be found inside St. Arthelais, so their inhabitants rarely need to go anywhere else in order to get something.
  14. Its industrial activities are mostly focused on development alternative energy technologies. It's a rather lucrative business considering the current demand of them on this particular setting.
  15. Weapons are highly regulated, with only law-enforcement officers and some special agents having the authority to possess them, carry them and use them.
  16. Crime is almost non-existent there, not only thanks to the preventive measures set in place, but also because of the almost “unnatural” effectivity of its law-enforcement officers.
  17. That said, law-enforcement officers prefer to use non-lethal weapons as much as possible. Lethal force hasn't been employed by St. Arthelais' officers in a long time already.
  18. As of lately, Witch's activity has increased the amount of suicides and homicides, from nigh inexistent, to at least seven incidents per day. On the later case, and because of the lack of readily available weapons, these murders are generally executed using improvised methods, which makes them even more violent than those committed with a proper weapon. Not only that, but investigators alway finds signs of horrifying tortures performed on the victims of these people.
  19. People going insane is also becoming a far more common occurrence, with a lot of them rambling incoherent blasphemies and cryptic messages about an “End of the World” scenario...
  20. Those in charge of St. Arthelais are trying their best to keep the general public from knowing too much about the previous two points... But it's only matter of time before the truth starts to spread out.

Incubators

  1. Unless otherwise stated by one of the next points, all the rules about the Incubators from the original series still apply.
  2. There are multiple Incubators on this universe, but no Kyubey to be seen.
  3. Aesthetically, they resemble Kyubey for the most part, but with differentiating color schemes and some minor distinguishing marks. (some might have “eyebrows”, slightly puffier fur, a scar, etc.) All of them “wear” at least one “characteristic accessory”; it can be a pair of glasses, a hat, a hair bow, etc.
  4. Their “personalities” are also more varied and distinctive. However, any kind of “emotion” they might display is only a hollow simulacrum carefully crafted to appear more affable than they really are.
  5. That said, they all have their own ego and personal “desires”/“goals”. Even when they are working on the same mission, their methods, priorities, and “philosophy” may vary wildly from one to another.
  6. They also have a hierarchy of some sort, with some of them clearly having more power and authority than the others, as well as better access to information.
  7. They are also capable of concealing information from one another, and it's not uncommon for them to have secrets even among themselves.
  8. While they don't seem to be as omnipresent and omniscient as Kyubey, they can still teleport around freely, and the destruction of their “body” is always a minor setback, as they just respawn in a new one without any ill-effects.
  9. They are completely imperceptible to humans, except they desire to be seen, heard or felt. That said, they rarely manifest themselves before someone who isn't a Candidates or a Puella Magi.
  10. Usually, one Incubator is assigned to one area at any given time, with it being capable of supervising multiple Puella Magi on their own. The key word being: “usually”, as multiple Incubators have been known to congregate on areas of particular interest or significance.
  11. They modus operandi is mostly similar to Kyubey's: They scout for good Candidates, they establish contracts with them so they become Puella Magi, they grant their wishes in a satisfactory and non-malicious manner, they're in charge of disposing “spent” Grief-Seeds and, overall, make sure things run as smoothly as possible... According their warped sense of “morality” and order, of course.
  12. They can't directly affect the world around them, and always respect humans' free will... But, just like Kyubey, they can coerce Puella Magi via rhetorics in order for them to carry out their plans.
  13. They can generate something called “Soul-Ward”, a little brooch-like artifact that protects a human's mind and soul from the erosion caused by a Witch's influence. This item has limited durability, and can also be used to contact and/or summon a nearby Incubator. They're usually given to potential candidates that might be on the fence about the prospect of establishing a contract.
  14. These Incubators are also extremely prone to conducting “experiments” meant to test the limits and possibilities of their own system...

Puella Magi

  1. Unless otherwise stated by one of the next points, all the rules about Puella Magis from the original series still apply.
  2. The Competence Zone seems to be slightly more ample than the one from the original series. But nonetheless, as a woman grows older, her potential to become a Puella Magi drastically decreases. The limit wildly varies from individual to individual, with some still being viable after their 20th birthday, to some being rendered “useless” before their 10th one.
  3. A Puella Magi “born” from a Contract established beyond her personal Competence Zone is gonna be highly unstable. The first “symptom” of this condition are the forceful and unexpected reversions to their untransformed state, with the added disadvantage of the garments and items she was carrying before their transformation being destroyed in the process. From that point onwards, the symptoms vary wildly, but usually involve Body Horror, Loss of Identity, Power Incontinence and death... If they're lucky.
  4. Increased strength, speed, reflexes, tolerance to pain and (extremely-high) endurance are all part of a Puella Magi's basic powerset.
  5. Summoning a single copy of their Unique Weapon doesn't have a great impact over a Puella Magi's energy supply; multiple copies are what drains it rather fast, specially if said weapon is particularly complex.
  6. All their Unique Powers come with the Required Secondary Powers they may need for them to work.
  7. They can use their Unique Powers even if they're on their untransformed state, but they're far more effective and potent if they do otherwise.
  8. All Puella Magi are bound to exponential decay. Even if their despair is kept in check, if they spend a certain amount of time without a Grief-Seed's infusion, they WILL meet their ultimate fate sooner or later. That prevents them from ever neglecting their Witch's hunting duties in order to live a completely carefree life.
  9. As of the start of the story, a lot of foreign Puella Magi have been drawn to St. Arthelais due to rumors of an increasing concentration of Witches gathering there. Most of them want to take the chance to “fill their quota” in an easy and fast way... But some that suspect something far more transcend and sinister might be happening there, and they want to get to the bottom of it.

Witches

  1. Unless otherwise stated by one of the next points, all the rules about Witches from the original series still apply.
  2. Witches, and the entities spawn from them, can't perceive nor affect Incubators in any way.
  3. Besides infusing “incongruent” desires into humans' mind and souls, (like the uncontrollable urge to kill themselves in a person that would never do otherwise) Witches can also amplify the worst aspects of a particular person's psyche. Cruelty, rage, fear, guilt, sadness, excess, and a lot more... Any of them can be amplified to the point they can consume even the most virtuous person, rendering them into a grotesque farce of their former selves.
  4. Some Witches' influence is so strong and damaging, that even after having been slain, the effects they caused upon humans' minds and souls might persist from that point onwards.
  5. As the story progresses, more details about the Witches will be revealed. Be warned: They're even more unpredictable and vicious than the ones from the original series.

Reading about the competence zone. So Julia's a rarity in terms of competence? And if she ever contracted she'd start having all those side effects?just bugs me Will the incubators keep tormenting her with their pretty faces and offers?

I'm not going to lie, that vactrain thing is really cool. I'd like to have at least one fight in or around an airless train tunnel just because I don't think I'll ever get the opportunity again.

Also, is flight a default Puella Magi power? Because it was a little ambiguous in the show itself. It seemed like they could only fly when they were actually inside a Witch's labyrinth, but the argument could be made that they were just making use of the labyrinth's unique physics to their advantage.

[up][up] Apparently they're just going to have to take it upon themselves to fill one of their basements up with skulls, incense, and flat screens.

If I had that kind of power, I'd have dropped a meteor on your house ages ago~

So where's the underground German morbid horror porn-esque scene that Mariya and Hei can spend their free time in?

He he he he... Well, while such thing doesn't exist on that precise form on this particular city, the truth is that “subcultures” also have a lot of freedom to do their own thing on [THE CITY]. For example, it's not uncommon for film festivals that appeal to an specific niche to be organized, with the town-hall even providing them with all kind of resources so their experience is a pleasant one.

So yeah, if any of them would like to assist to an “underground German morbid horror porn-esque” convention, film-festival or a similar event, odds are that, yes: It would be possible.

For that matter, the [THE CITY]'s authorities are quite lenient and mature when it come to media consumption, as they don't censor nor ban art-works nor stories that others would deem as “Corrupting for our impressionable youth! BURN THE INFIDEL!”. Instead, they decide to go As the Good Book Says...:

"(...)The things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. For out of the heart come evil thoughts — murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what defile a person (…)" - Matthew 20:18

In other words, their stance is: “It's not the media they consume what we should worry about. Appreciating controversial works of art doesn't corrupt you unless you want to be corrupted on the first place.”

Reading about the competence zone. So Julia's a rarity in terms of competence? And if she ever contracted she'd start having all those side effects? Will the incubators keep tormenting her with their pretty faces and offers?

In a single word: Yes... To all and every single point you've mentioned. However, I'd like to reserve that particular sub-plot for later into the story, and I'd like explore first how a Badass Normal would help the Puella Magi on their harrowing crusade. Then, as stakes increase and things start falling apart, we'll carry out this plan... If you're OK with it, of course. Contrary to what some might think, I'm not an Incubator, so I won't force anyone into a situation they'd dread to deal with... Except when I do... It's, complicated... You know what I mean!

By the way, that particular idea was inspired by Tekkaman Blade. Such an awesome series! It's genuinely tragic and absolutely badass. It's highly amusing how some fans say that the eponymous protagonist is a Magical Boy in a bio-mechanical suit of armor... He he he he... Highly recommend!... As long are you aren't bothered by its kinda dated animation quality.

Unlike some people out there, I like to honor and exalt those works and creators that have inspired me, instead of having the arrogance of saying: “Everything I do is original! DO NOT STEAL!”. We “stand on the shoulders of giants” after all...

I'm not going to lie, that vactrain thing is really cool. I'd like to have at least one fight in or around an airless train tunnel just because I don't think I'll ever get the opportunity again.

That might be on the future, yes... But, you'll have to wait to see if it it happens. And as a matter of fact, that wouldn't be the only strange location for a fight we might get to see here. I have lots of other cool ideas I'd like to try, not only for the Witches' labyrinths, but for encounters outside of them.

Also, is flight a default Puella Magi power? Because it was a little ambiguous in the show itself. It seemed like they could only fly when they were actually inside a Witch's labyrinth, but the argument could be made that they were just making use of the labyrinth's unique physics to their advantage.

In the show it's clearly an instance of Not Quite Flight, with them using their great acrobatic skill, increased reaction time and supernatural strength to achieve such effect. I'd like to keep it that way on this particular story too, as it's both cool and it makes those that might have the distinctive ability to achieve true flight/levitation all the more relevant. I'll add this point to the Guide, by the way.

Or have a pajama party at Julia's flat. You'll find the (fridge) crawling goo horrors, (artistic) murders, (bathroom) ominous smells and (snoring) spooky sounds from beyond.

He he he he... By the way, I'd like to know a little more about Julia's “crib”/“palace”/[insert-witty-synonym-for-residence-here], as I've got the feeling it might become the Puella Magis' first “home-base” during the early parts of the story.

In other news, this is my current report on the situation...

  1. I'm still looking for the name we'll give to [THE CITY], and yes, I'm taking all your suggestions into consideration, don't ever doubt that, as your help is dearly appreciated. For that matter, I like the idea of it being named after a female Saint of some sorts... I think I'll start looking for one that might be particularly relevant and/or ironic.
  2. Soon I'll publish the profiles of two Puella Magi that you'll meet during the first part of the story. I have literally dozens of them already figured out, but I'll only reveal them as their presence and intervention becomes directly relevant to your characters' exploits.
  3. I'll also rewrite and repurpose the character I intended to write for in the previous attempt at a Puella Magi's “collaborative story dealio-thingy”, as the two Puella Magi I'll reveal soon already play analogous roles to the ones I had planned for her, and have lots of similarities of with her original concept, only divided into two people.
  4. Also, I have a new question for all of those with an approved character:

When would you like for us to start the story?

As a matter of fact, I'm ready to go whenever you please, and I'd really like “strike while the iron is hot”, because I'm actually kinda excited for things that are waiting for us... BUT, your opinion and convenience is invaluable to me, so I'll like to take my decision based on those factors. Whenever you feel like starting, we'll start... Hopefully, it will be a rather fun ride.

Admittance won't be closed once we start setting things in motion, mind you, as there are lot of good in-story reasons for new Puella Magi and Candidates to join as the story moves forward, so don't ever worry about that.

South Rocky Mountains area? The only thing we may to handwave/turn a blind eye to is the strict weapons regulation; US gun politics is a pretty contentious area, to say the least, but there's no place that regulates weapons to the degree that you'd see in, say, Britain. (Also, Boy Scout troops, hikers, outdoorsmen, and the like would mutiny if you tried to take away their knives and hatchets.)

Other than that...Mescalero, Utah is open. Or something descriptive: Bitter Lake, Stonebridge, Beacon Hill, Carson's Landing...

@Sabre's_Edge: I don't want to pin-point the exact location of [THE CITY] down to its geographical coordinates, mostly because...

  1. It's not all that important in the great scheme of things... The most relevant part it's that is located in an otherwise barren zone. Distance between it and other important cities is negligible, because the vactrain-system makes commuting to almost any other place a breeze; they might as well be right next to each other because how fast it is. So, yeah...
  2. I don't want to accidentally level a fellow Troper's home town because I happened to chose said location as the place where [THE CITY] is.

WARNING!

I don't want to talk about America's gun-fetish / overtly-lax-gun-policies, because such kind of talk always end up bringing politics to the table and, as I've previously stated: The only kind of drama I care about is the IN-STORY drama, thank you very much.

I set the rules of this particular city, and the rules say: Weapons are highly regulated. HOWEVER, I'd like to add something to that rule: Firearms are absolutely banned inside [THE CITY], (unless you're a law-enforcer) but certain concessions are made for tools that could be used as weapons.

As you've pointed out, hatchets, knives and other sharp tools that could be used as weapons are allowed for responsible professionals and enthusiasts. That said, if a person is caught carrying them a in context where it doesn't make much sense, (like keeping a fireman's axe inside of your school backpack, or a butcher knife inside your trousers while riding the subway) they might incur into a harsh penalty and a hefty fine... Nothing too serious, but it would be extremely uncomfortable and costly.

Okay, that I can work with; assuming we don't stray too far from city center, we can probably assume those conditions to hold.

(In-universe, the vactrain is a cool concept; IRL I can't help but speculate about its terrible efficiencies. But, it'd work perfectly for the setting in one sense: that getting onboard the vactrain would require airport-esque security checks. Really don't want someone bringing four hundred grams of TATP onboard that thing.)

The list I ended my last post with were possible city names, by the way. Or if you want something more folkloric reflecting the isolation of the city and a sense of the sinister, Masada would work.

City Names?... hmm

Goetia. Sounds like Goethe (Faust) and Ars Goetia, the medieval grimoire compillation that let you (suppossedly) summon demons.

Gun control? It's a good thing martial arts allow for people to kill others with bare hands.

Also, side effects might make Julia more reluctant to contract. Probably she'll be punting Incubators on sight at this point because the little bastards can be quite grating.

Julia's "flat"? Let me guess... Her paycheck as army medic got quite high as I expected the power source shortages has sparked a ton of wars and people needed to be saved from death. So it would be probably a decent sized-flat that a single teacher couldn't possibly afford.

All made a mess, of course. There would be a dormitory with a large two-people bed (for added lone nights depression) that looks like a Hurricane wreck site. Possibly some panties got in the ceiling lamp and they're stuck there.

The kitchen doesn't fare too well either. It's separate from the lounge and has the washing machine there. The only part that's clean of the entire kitchen. All in all it has 3-day food sitting there happily, a hastily scribbled self note on the Eldritch fridge of Horrors to buy more cereal, and scorch marks surrounding the oven.

The living room is surprisingly tidy. If only because she doesn't spend much time there. And all the time she's there it's beating the punching ball or using the static cycle she has parked on one side. She has a couple of front-to front two-people couches, with a TV on one side, and a table on the center. It also has a PC with a single chair there. The living room also includes a picture of her posing with her unit in the last conflict she took part.

The bathroom is the only part she makes effort to keep clean. She has a lot of additional medicines and instrument there (A medic never really quits, you know). It has a shower stand, and no bathtub.

Lastly but not least, she has a parking spot for her motorbike in the basement.

We have a strange crew, don't we? Seika is fairly close to normal, but considering her two PC peers, she's actually probably the odd one out. I suppose the other Puella Magi we meet will more likely be fairly normal people to counterbalance the oddity of this group.

For the weapons regulations, if its going to be highly restricted it should be set in a state where such is the norm. In Texas gun laws are more easy going while in say California I think the Gun Laws there are simply that there can't be any (except police). Don't quote me on that though, I don't have time to research it right now.

He he he heh... Y-Yeah, that's ex-exactly what I was p-planning: A fairly normal and well-adjusted group of individuals. Of course...

Talking seriously: You'll have to wait and see what kind of characters I have in mind. Hopefully, even if they aren't exactly normal, they'll bring some sort of balance to the group... Or, in the worst case scenario, they'll create some really interesting dynamics.

@Atomic_Nut:

Alright, thanks a lot for the info! Yeah, that sounds like a good home-base for the first episodes.

One last thing, talking about Dominique being some strange mojo voodoo experiment or Witch will make them appear in tiny black suits with a neuralizer, Men in Black style? Just askin'.

The first rule about Dominique is: You do not talk about Dominique. The second rule about Dominique is: You do NOT talk about Dominique!

One way or the other, she's not immediately relevant during the first part of the story, and her name might not even be said by anyone before the 6th or 7th "episode". With some imagination, you could infer some things about her, (for example, her name is in the title instead of Madoka's for a good reason) but I won't confirm nor deny any theories. If we make it far enough, you'll eventually know... But right now, let's focus on writing an interesting story.

Anyway, in another business, one which I previously alluded in the other thread, Atomic_Nut and Bassetete: Would you like for Julia and Mariya to start the story working together?

I like how Seika is currently kinda naive when it comes to the tribulations of a Puella Magi's life, so that characteristic wouldn't make too much sense if she were working with Julia from the start, as she would be sure to explain her some of the less savory details to it. Hei Ryung could also work, but she might be a little too off-wall for Julia to consistently rely on her. So, that leaves Mariya, who might be the most logical option right now.

Depending on how Sabre's character turns out, she could join the duo from the very start too, but I'll have to see the updated profile and approve it before taking that decision.

Hmmm, I suppose it could be called naive. She at heart sticks to some solid principles, and that could get her killed in dealing with other girls. She treats things like a video game, but she isn't new to the trade. I don't know what those 'types' are but how long she's been magical is supposed to be important. Seika does know that Magical Girls tend to contest each other.

I would day she's been fighting as a magical girl for at least a month if not more. Left that ambiguous in her history to supply it as needed for the story.

That she prefers to be by herself has kept her away from the general issues of magical girls and because she didn't have many expectations for her wish she didn't need to get disappointed by it yet. Sooner or later her father will notice her absences.

It'll be when she starts to learn those interesting things like where witches really come from that she'll get to lose her rather optimistic outlook

I'd be fine with it. Mariya's easy enough to get along with due to the mask she wears being sociable and amicable. Julia would probably have some words for all the morbidity but nothing off putting to the relationship.

I enjoy the Baccano!/Durarara!! school of character design, where every character is a different form of crazy, and part of the fun comes from seeing how the worldviews bounce off of one another.

Something else I thought up, and I hope this doesn't come off as being nitpicky, but how do the Puella Magi work in regard to healing? Kyubey made really explicit mention once of being able to survive their heart exploding, and I just kind of assumed that the heart would grow back after a while. In this game, do organs regrow? Do limbs regrow? Does blood loss matter at all? Etc etc? Is medical attention needed at all, or will stuff just sort itself out with time?

If I had that kind of power, I'd have dropped a meteor on your house ages ago~

That's a perfectly valid and rather important question, not nitpicky at all, so don't worry about it being otherwise. So, let me address it...

On this particular universe, Puella Magi's healing factor is bound to human body's limits... to a certain extent. They can regenerate any injury that a normal body would repair over time, and they are far more resilient to things that would be outright fatal for an ordinary person, like heavily punctured organs or a substantial blood-loss.

However, cut limbs can't be regenerated, as well as some other complex organs like eyes, so they still have to be really careful when it comes to those. Needless to say, things like decapitation or getting 50% of their thorax destroyed are immediately fatal.

"Ordinary" medical attention does indeed help in pinch, but Grief-Seed's infusions are ultimately the best and fastest way for them to cure their wounds. Nonetheless, first-aid has been known to save a heavily damaged Puella Magi on this particular universe, so it's far from being superfluous.

It wouldn't be out of the question to give Seika a Healer class to make her the medic. Versatility has its uses, but it wouldn't be very useful for combat.

@Stephan_Reiken: It would also be extremely dangerous for herself, as Equivalent Exchange would definitely apply, with her suffering an amount of damage equal or greater to that inflicted upon a fellow Puella Magi.

...HOWEVER, I'm not adverse to the idea if she could also use said power to heal normal humans too. They shouldn't be as difficult to repair, and it could be really useful at some point in the story.

Well, it should take it out of her magic supply (Healer could heal herself too), and it wouldn't be cheap like Sayaka, whose core ability was healing by itself. So it would be best used in emergencies when you can't use a seed.

  • Healer
  • Weapon: Staff
  • Appearance: As a Healer Seika wears a Meido outfit with a long black dress and a frilly white apron over it with a maids cap that has her blue rose soul gem adorning it.
  • Notes: As a Healer Seika is not specially inclined for combat, instead she is able to touch someone with her hands to heal their wounds. This is not a cheap process, draining a lot of magical power to heal herself or other Puella Magic, usually more than the magic it would take to cause the injury, but simpler, normal human bodies are easy to heal. While this can heal wounds her touch cannot remove disease, only slow it's progress by reversing the damage to the immune system.

After all, her core power is based on mmorpgs which should get her magic spent as healing rather than taking others wounds. The only mmorpg class I can think of that takes others wounds is the Paladin which would have armor and a sword shield :p.

I've been trying to limit how versatile the individual classes are.
