A few more images for SCOOB were released. Another trailer comes tomorrow.
Wise of WB to only reveal a tiny percentage more of what the last trailer did. This doesn't give away plot or anything other than confirm Dastardly.
And I did get a Shaphne vibe from that
Velma’s back to being a tech nerd for the first time since What’s New, I see.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I don't really like Dick Dastardly's "movie supervillain" makeover.
Though maybe he'll change into a more traditional outfit.

...he's wearing his traditional outfit though? I mean, minus the red and purple striped hat, but he's definitely wearing the purple trench coat and red gloves he usually wears.
I actually kinda like this more menacing take on Dick Dastardly, honestly.
The only thing he's missing is his aviator hat.
But yeah, the film version seems closer to this version◊ of Dastardly.

Yeah, the color mistake was my bad.
I thought his coat had changed color when it didn't. Though I still kinda wish he had one of his two hats.
Ooh, that’s wacky.
It's been 3000 years…Freeze-Frame Bonus from the Scooby Snacks box:
"High fructose flavor" "Per one snack: 850 calories, 37.5g sat. fat, 1000g sodium, 8000g sugars"
How are they not in diabetic comas by the time they're teenagers?
It's been 3000 years…Also, each snack would weigh at least 9kg just from the sugar and salt. Plus, it would be 32000 calories from the 8kg of sugar. Scooby and Shaggy have quite the Hyperactive Metabolism.
TBF Shaggy has shown he's quite badass when his fear isn't getting in the way such as in the Phantosaur movie
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."This is why Shaggy is my favorite character in the franchise. He's just able to be either the funniest character or do something surprisingly badass.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadYeah, it's been a thing for a long while that once you get Shaggy in a situation where he's not scared (or back in him into a corner where he has no other choice), he can be extremely competent, very clever, and even badass at times.
What's New outright had an episode where he was to invested in the mystery to let himself be scared, and he took over Velma's spot. Be Cool did the same thing with an episode where he didn't know there was a mystery. Plus Reluctant Werewolf and Ghoul School, of course.
Heck, Be Cool had that a lot. You could argue Shaggy in that show was explicitly Brilliant, but Lazy.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I mean, it's the same for Scooby too.
When they aren't running scared, they're a force to be reckoned with.
The second live action movie had an entire finale where Scooby is the only one who can save the day, and he damn well does it, kicking the ass of every single monster single handedly.
One Strip! One Strip!Scooby gets a few more chances to be awesome than Shaggy, though. It's easier to snap Scooby out of his fear than it is for Shaggy.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Maybe Scooby gets more chances to awesome because the franchise is named after him.
My favorite example of these two being awesome is from Batman the Brave and the Bold. Where after Bat Mite removes there fear and they fight on equal footing as Batman.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadThere was a Brave and the Bold/Scooby Doo crossover? I don't remember that at all...
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Look at the last few minutes of the episode "Batmite Presents: Batman's Strangest Cases". It has Batman teaming up with the Scooby gang. This is done as an homage to The New Scooby-Doo Movies , complete with a similar animation style, and Frank Welker channeling Olan Soule and Adam West when he voices Batman in that segment . And then they had a crossover movie in 2018, done with the regular show's Batman.
This is neither here nor there, but does anyone have any idea what the upcoming movie's budget might be?
I have no clue. I assume in the 80-100 million dollar range. It's the standard for most WB Animation theatrical movies.
Not all of them, though. The LEGO Movie, The LEGO Batman Movie, and Storks all cost $60-70 million. The production values do look pretty high on this one, so I wouldn't be surprised if it were closer to $90 million.
Which begs the question, how might the current downturn in theater attendance affect it? Might it be delayed?
I actually wouldn't mind a plot that puts Ravencroft and Vincent Van Ghoul in the same story.
