Same as the above, and additional questions: when you say "no children", does this include young adults in their twenties and late teens, or just anyone you wouldn't trust to drive a car? On a scale of one to C 3 PO, how quirky are our characters allowed to be? Also, what was life like under Lord Thiel?
Lord Thiel was a hard, but fair man. He wasn't so concerned with power as a end as much as a means to keep himself safe in these times. He saw you as strength in numbers, as well as a means to pass on his knowledge. He firmly believed in Revan's return, at which point the Sith would be put back to order and would finish its conquest of the galaxy.
As a former Jedi Consular, Thiel was a good teacher to those who would listen. Being desperate for allies, however, he didn't care whether or not you were eager to learn. Additionaly, he could sometimes come off as dismissive, assuming he always knew best. That got him killed, as he decided to negotiate with Darth Kane rather than flee as soon as the man demanded the coterie join his warband on pain of death.
Lord Thiel was killed dishonorably; he agreed to have words on the aspiring Sith Lord's own ship. As words became heated, this turned into a duel; though Thiel was more powerful in the Force and got the upper hand, Darth Kane called upon one of his minions to attack your master from behind. He claims his victory is merely proof of his rightful power.
@ KSPAM: I'm very leery of teenage characters. Let's say 20 is the youngest, assuming you play a human. Don't go super-campy either, I want this to be fairly dark. Think KotOR
in tone, if you've played it.

Flesh is a design flaw.Interest because Star Wars. Two additional questions: are Dark Side Adepts kosher?
How are non-Force-Sensitives?
So he took on multiple students? How exactly does that work?
Also, I have not played Kot OR, and I don't really have any experience with the Star Wars EU. Like, at all. I'm a huge fan of the movies (as much as one can be considered a "fan" of the prequels, anyway), but I've kind of adamantly refused to touch the EU out of just, I dunno, disinterest? I mean, I never thought of myself as actively disliking it, but it never really caught my attention enough for me to take interest in it either.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialSith often took multiple apprentices. The whole "one master, one apprentice" thing was started by Darth Bane long after the time this RP would be taking place in, and represents just one of many iterations of the Sith Order as a whole.
Basically, the Jedi and the Sith have changed many times, and the Rule of Two was just one version. Eventually, it gets thrown out and replaced, as it replaced the whole "many Sith striving for power weeding out the weak" mentality that preceded it.

It's kind of funny. Sufficiently advanced stupidity is like sufficiently advanced science; eventually, you find something you can't solve. He might allow that, but don't be surprised if he doesn't. He specified they have to speak Basic, while Wookiees only speak Shyriiwook. Though he might have meant understand.
Sorry, I'm assistant bio-mod on a Star Wars rp forum with a similar concept. I'm a bit too at home being the rules and exposition pixie.

On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home.I dunno, I like Star Wars? *shrugs* If you don't think I'd really fit in here, that's fine. It's not like it's a make or break deal.

You should try to learn about the setting at least before deciding if you really want to play.

Like Force Valor, Force Body, and Force Rage, you mean?
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Force_valor
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Force_Body
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Force_Rage
They increase all physical attributes simultaneously, though in the first case, it's light-side aligned, and in the other two, you risk long-term harm.

Sufficiently advanced stupidity is like sufficiently advanced science; eventually, you find something you can't solve. From what I recall of the games and how it affected dice rolls, Force Speed is more like moving fast, giving you bonus attacks and defense, while Force Valor is more like reacting fast, giving you better saving throws. Also Speed affected just you, while Valor affected your entire party.

Discussion Thread
Roleplay Thread
The galaxy is in deadlock.
Utilizing the Star Forge, Darth Revan’s infinite fleet dealt a crushing blow to the Republic and Jedi Order, and left them in disarray. They would have been completely wiped out if not for Revan’s mysterious disappearance.
As the infinite fleet fragments without strong leadership, aspiring Sith Lords rise to take control. Dozens of warlords now fight pitched battles across the galaxy in what is known as the SITH CIVIL WAR.
Though granted enough of a reprieve to destroy the Star Forge, the war has greatly weakened the Republic and Jedi Order, beginning an arduous process of rebuilding. Placed in precarious positions, the future of any of the factions is uncertain…
Plot Hook
Your master lies dead. Perhaps the late Lord Thiel was not truly your master, but he was the man you had been following for the last year amid the chaos of the Sith Civil War. While countless others died in the attempt to fill the power vacuum left by Darth Revan, Thiel had kept you and your dark brethren alive and together.
Certainly there is little else your coterie shared; each of you approaches the Dark Side quite differently, a few of you do not even consider yourselves "Sith" at all. But under Lord Thiel's charge, you had safety, and perhaps more importantly, direction - two things that cannot be taken for granted in these tumultuous times.
Now the self-styled Darth Kane, a minor, though ambitious, warlord, has taken Thiel's head. The miserable upstart vows to subjugate every one of you. He will conscript those of you he can as soldiers into his growing warband, and kill any who refuse.
You now find yourselves with a choice to make: Submit to his rule, or strive against this false lord as the Dark Side demands.
General Information
This game will be set in the years immediately following the ending of the first Knights of the Old Republic
, around 3955 BBY. However, it follows the Dark Side ending of that game. You won't have to be familiar with that game to play this, though it could help. Regardless, I will be changing a few things to fit my personal tastes, foremost being alterations to the Force in general:
Your coterie will start with a ship, and depending on the makeup of the party/interest from the players, there may be opportunities to upgrade and alter it for improved performance in space encounters. You will also be able to gain new Force Powers or Skills as you progress.
I'm going to require consistent posting – players who leave the game should at least send a PM, rather than vanishing unexpectedly.
Character Sheet
Please hyperlink anything obscure from the EU
to its corresponding Wookieepedia
article, for my own benefit as well as others’.
You may choose to forfeit a Power for an additional Weapon Focus or Skill, or even sacrifice a Power to upgrade existing ones to Extraordinary Focuses or Skills. More Powers will be unlocked as you progress.
Your character need not focus on lightsaber-combat, though if they do, they must specify which of the seven Forms
Accepted Characters
