If we can sum up, more or less, what region each dragon is in that would help me out, quite a bit.

Nothing too thorough is needed. "North-East. Uncivilized jungles" "West. Rural mountainous regions" would be more than enough.

Okay the RP thread[1] is now open.

Feel free to post at your leisure. I've thrown out some plothooks for each region, but everyone can feel free to ignore them and stir up their own trouble if they wish. Graga is free to start where he wishes, blending in with the countryside as he tends to do.smile

Let me know if anyone has any issues with the world as it stands.

[up] I was in the process of thinking up a post that has Nor-Rokkus investigate the village mentioned near the bottom of the opening post if you want to have Sangorius do the same.

Sounds good. Cool. I'll post when I get to a computer.

Alright. Post up. Nor-Rokkus doesn't actually arrive in-post, but he's on his way there.

Hey Nman and Space Jawa, do you two mind if I put Klovengaar midway between where you two live so when he senses Sangorious flying over to check out that town he'll tag along?

A volcano wouldn't really fit between the two areas given what we've established already. Plus having two desolate forsaken wastelands home to terrible villains right next to each other would make the place a bit homogenous.

Best to spread them out a bit so we're not terrorizing each other[lol]

But still, that's no reason why he can't just go visit the village anyway. Maybe he was flying by?

Sounds good to me. Maybe scouting out the edges of his old territory.

It could even be that he simply heard about it and had reason to check it out himself.

I don't think that location should be too much a worry if you have a good enough reason to go somewhere. We are dragons, after all.

(Space Jawa suggested that we should bring this discussion from PM to here, so here we go...)

Okay, I'm thinking that Wen Yuen's lair would be at somewhere around the east side; further inland than Nor-Rokkus's lair and somewhere around the foot of Mount Blutstein. Her lair, and to a lesser extent, the nearby village(now gonna call it Vasilli Village), would be roughly equidistant from these two lairs.

Another suggestion of mine(not discussed in PM) is that when Nor-Rokkus fly over Wen Yuen's lair, he would noticed a cottage in the middle of a forested area(now call it Wei Xiao Forest from now on) where he would investigate it and meet Wen Yuen, sounds good?

[up] Now that kind of positioning - right in the middle between the supposedly close village we're headed to and Nor-Rokkus' hand out - I'm thinking would be on the 'too close' side of things, and right now even if Nor-Rokkus did fly over her lair on the way to the ruined village he wouldn't stop by to investigate until the return trip after he's finished with whatever happens there.

Why does everyone want to be in the middle of us?[lol]

Nor-Rokkus and Sangorius are already pretty close to each other (relatively) and we already discussed how it was laid out, shoving someone in between means having to rework a bunch of stuff. Why not just pick a different border? Also you aren't required to be in the East just because you want a more Asian influence. The South, West, North, and Center of whatever continent we're on are all pretty wide open.

We have like eight dragons, but only three that have defined locations, and of those three Adelinde is far to the extreme north. That means that unless we have at least one person to the south, one person to the north, one person to the west, and one person in the center, we're going to have big chunks of nothing and everyone else huddled together.

And from having to put together a map in a different RP this summer where everyone wanted to be coastal, northern, and bordering the same two nations, things wound up looking pretty ugly. For example, here is a quick little map I drew up of a roughly-circular continent with a bump to give us a "far north", and 12 parcels to accommodate every dragon, and a few NPCs. By no means official, you can at least use it to visualize how things fit together, and you could imagine how trying to maintain borders that were created without a visual reference would wind up becoming a nightmare to deal with.

Well I want Wen Yuen's lair to be near these two dragons so that it'll be much easier to encounter one another but oh well, thanks for the map and suggestion, Nman, the visualisation actually helps a lot. Unclaimed 7 seems like a nice place for Wen Yuen's lair.

Much appreciation N Man. That's a big help, and should smooth things along.

Unless anyone objects, I have Kurach Mor somewhere along the Northern edge of Unclaimed 4, and Thirturas' City in Unclaimed 9. If you guys want a different plot, it's best to let me know now while adjustments are still easy to make. Our Volcano-Dragon may want Unclaimed 1, Unclaimed 2 or Unclaimed 8, though you're free to be anywhere you want.

I'll give everyone most of today to post in RP, and then update tonight. Or sooner if it's called for, for individual situations.

EDIT: Also, if anyone wants more details about anything in the setting from recent history to the Gods, let me know and I can provide some details either here or in my next post.

[up] I would have thought Kruach Mor would be in 1 or 2 rather than 4, since they're coastal.

Klovengaar will be living in Unclaimed 1. Looks remote enough to keep him from trying to conquer anyone else at the moment.

Those are both fine by me. For Kruach Mor, Unclaimed 2, and for Klovengar Unclaimed 1?

Unclaimed 2 is pretty perfect for Kruach Mor, with Adelinde just to the North, as I established in the first post. Saves me some re-writing.

goodisgood - In-post I'm not ignoring you, but I figured it would be better to have Nor-Rokkus visit that village and do stuff their first and, provided that Old Man Grega isn't super speedy and nowhere around Castle Ajanya by the time he heads back, Nor-Rokkus would stop by on his way back.

Oh, no problem at all. I never intended Graga to be particularly fast, or at least so far as dragons are considered. Relatively, he's more like an olympic wrestler, whereas a normal (or at least younger) dragon would be an olympic sprinter.

Response to Klovengar/Gladonost added to my last post.

Graga won't be seeing any interference traveling after the dragon.

Sjir should be in the middle, right in the center of the crossroads, which is how so much knowledge passes through there- you wanna go somewhere, fastest path is usually through Sjir.
