Is this trope about TV shows that run Super Bowl related episodes, especially around the weekend of the big game? Nope! It's entirely and specifically about Super Bowl commercials.
There's only minor amounts of misuse, judging by the wicks, but I have absolutely no idea why this trope is named as it is. Is there any reason not to rename it to Super Bowl Commercials (no one is going to mistake that for commercials advertising the Super Bowl) and possibly, possibly, create a new trope for the TV shows that have special episodes for the Super Bowl (especially the series chosen as the lead-out) and/or specials that only run as specific counterprogramming (like the Puppy Bowl)?
