Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectAt least it's not a Verbed Title. Those annoy the heck out of me.
My tropes launched: https://surenity2.blogspot.com/2021/02/my-tropes-on-tv-tropes.htmlOh boy..looks like we got a new Don Bluth lol
great to see that the project is getting the money. The film doesn't really interest me, but it's nice that people still want to see 2D in theaters
even though it's not a genre, im beginning to think that 2D is now a genre throwback of some sort in movies..

Supports cartoons being cartoony!I think the newest development was always something which demanded attention. But you know, what I like about the Hullabaloo project is not just the fact that it uses traditional animation, but also the story which is proposed. We certainly need more movies with female main characters, and that it is supposed to encourage an interest in engineering is just a plus for me.
Treasure Planet sort of kind of wanders in that general direction and Atlantis The Lost Empire has a couple nods to it, but that's all I can think of. There is Steamboy, but that's anime so I don't know if you were counting that or not.
I have. It's pretty good visually, but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense at times and is half an hour longer than it needs to be.

Looking for some stories?I would count Treasure Planet in the Steampunk genre, even though it more borrows a little bit of the style than being "true steampunk", but not Atlantis, mostly because on the Treasure Planet DVD is a very detailed explanation how the ship is supposed to work which is really creative. To be honest, I was kind of surprised that none of the animators working on Hullabaloo were involved in either movie (or if they were, they didn't bother to list it as reference).
I too have seen Steamboy. I agree with Mort that it was a gorgeous movie with barely a plot. Steamboy is pretty much "Spectacles: The Movie". The story and characters are barely there to show off set pieces, and the whole film feels more like a set up (especially once you see the infinitely more interesting credit scenes) than a complete fulfilling experience.
Steamboy would have been better off as a series than a feature film.

Way past $250k now. Now that's impressive!
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!
