Eikichi doesn't need encouragement. He probably tells Shirou to leave him alone or go hit things with the bat. Or bring out his crush on Loke at awkward moments for the lulz. Patricia on the other hand, I think I found a partner in crime for girl cruising. Even if she's a bit of a Loke fangirl. Sanae's probably on Eikichi's hit list, though.
But not Loke. Well maybe. But trying to hit on a fellow pilot is a bad idea. Business and pleasure are two separate things.

Ooh, make her a Yankees fan so she and Gabe can butt heads. Or maybe a fellow Red Sox fan so they can at least geek out together.
Come to think of it, might Second Impact have significantly changed the course of sporting event results? It might be trivial, but considering Gabe is a Red Sox fan and all of their real life World Series championships after 1918 have been in years that would be post-2I, it seems somehow thematically appropriate if the Curse of the Bambino were still alive and well.
Don't worry, my personal sensibilities won't be offended either way. My team loyalties are elsewhere.

Alright, this has nothing to do with the conversation but I have suggestion to have Bardiel instead take over multiple Mass Produced Evas, that would make it so each pilot has their own opponent as opposed to all three beating down on one angel.

Good to be backGabe's role is basically an expanded version of Ibuki's from the series, being a technically-oriented Bridge Bunny with ties to the science division. In terms of personality, his stoic, business-like front shows many of the same traits from Ritsuko or Rei as Suzume, but his true off-duty (or off-guard) persona is probably more like Kyon from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (with concessions made that this is the Eva universe of course.) And this may not come up, but if I ever had the chance to write him when he was around the pilots' age, he'd probably come across as more like Naota, with some of Shinji's traits thrown in.
Oh, and also, he'd probably freak out if he was ever in a situation where he had to back up his new military credentials and actually shoot someone, much like Ibuki in Eo E, but depending on how things progress I'm for him eventually getting over it through character development when things get dark.

Hah, cool, I found a picture
that pretty much matches my mental image of Shona.

I'll only keep us here for this one set of posts to do a bit of foreshadowing (maybe, at any rate) with Suzume's side of the briefing, then we will do a time skip to a school day the next day. So you don't even really need to post, but you still can if you want to, just for fluff and idle thoughts and the like.
Speaking of which! I've designed sketches for the core friends group of the Children in school, so Atomic/Troy/Don't look this over and tell me if you guys are okay with it. Loke's galpal is in her class, 16 year old Sanae Izumi, intelligent and sociable though somewhat naive and they met because they share musical interests (Sanae is a budding multigenre composer). She's totes BFF with Loke and treats the younger boys like younger brothers, stern but compassionate.
Her younger brother Shirou is 14, a star athlete of the NERV school baseball team (yes they go to competitions) who is naturally a leader and tries to support his class peers in Eikichi and Yuto and encourage them. Has a huge crush on Loke and becomes super awkward in her presence.
Finally there's Patricia Samuels, 15 year old daughter of a foreign NERV worker who is an out-of-the-closet lesbian and really loud and proud about that fact. Pretty confrontational and always trying to be one of the boys with Eikichi, Yuto, and Shirou, to typically annoying levels. Thinks Loke is cool as shit and looks up to her. Excellent pitcher, so also part of the baseball team. Her Japanese is kind of bad.
