Tiny Wars… why the heck hasn’t the Advance Wars Reddit Community ever talked about it? Cause all I’ve ever head them mention was either the ROM-hacks or that online Pv P-via-email only version, but never what I saw you play just now.
Seems a lot of older Advance Wars fans ultimately weren't happy with the remaster. Most of it stems from Nintendo's usual total disregard for the multiplayer community, but some unforeseen glitches and the AI somehow being worse than the original games apparently left a bitter taste in the community's mouth.
Well, it's not Days of Ruin, for one.
Still, didn't it outsell the GBA games?

Continue writing our story of peace. It’s both not cheating any more and also it’s dumber at the same time. Or at least, it’s less aggressive to the point of being noticeably easier.
Either way, the big problem was always the online. Nintendo really botched the online of the game, despite there being a fairly big multiplayer element to the franchise’s appeal. And it’s a shame, as iirc treating online like an afterthought is the exact same issue we already saw with Wargroove.

NCH Productions animated a few more Advance Wars videos while I wasn't paying attention.
There's a few others too, but they're rather meh compared to these.
Testing out another Custom CO in Tiny Wars, Snowind.
As an air specialist with equivalent stats and CO Zone as Tasha (a bottom-tier CO), Snowind needs something to be viable.
And she does, as she is also secretly a foot soldier specialist. She has a strange quirk in that any Infantry or Mech created in the Factory will teleport to an available zone adjacent to her CO unit. This is great for summoning a meatshield to protect her, capturing deep within enemy territory, or just some cheap and immediate firepower. A tricky skill to have, but can be very helpful if used right.
Another quirk of her is that any unit inside her CO Zone is healed 1 HP per turn for free. While not it's obviously no Caulder, any free healing is appreciated and the little values can stack up over time.
Her C0 power is another universal 1 HP healing. Certainly no Brenner but can't say no to that. The actual meat of her CO power is that she has two of them. The first is a simple missile strike that deals 5 damage. The second is that she can teleport tanks and aircrafts to her side like she can with Infantry and Mechs. While getting an Anti-Tank or a War Tank quickly to the front line is good, the missile strike is just more free value, and more helpful at breaking a deathball.

Trying out an OC CO in Tiny Wars.
Grat has 0 CO Zone, and her stat buff is a basic 10% Attack and 10% Defense for all units. So with the worst radius (equal to Tabitha) and the worst stats (equal to Penny), what does she have to offer?
Sniping. If a unit begins its movement inside her CO Zone, it has 1 extra range, even direct units like Tanks and AA. Her CO power grants 2 extra range on top of that, and a bonus 10% attack and defense to make it equal to Isabella's and Forsyth's stats. In essence, if she manages to activate her CO Power, her Tanks can outrange Artillery, and her Artillery can outrange Rockets.
I'd put her in the lower-mid or low tier despite enjoying her playstyle. She struggles to score OHKO unlike Tabitha, and even Tabitha struggles to gain enough CO energy in a competitive game.
