Michiru VN spoilers: It's not exactly easy to tell when other Michiru takes over because sometimes she does so while maintaining the Michiru persona like that time Michiru had a breakdown. We only knew because POV character Yuuji already knew the hints. I see your point though and damn it, now I have the urge to play her route again to check for when other Michiru takes over
Nah, the common route is kind of like a bunch of disjointed skits too. Mostly just used for characterization, though there's some foreshadowing and stuff. I think they might have skipped some of Amane's lines that would have been foreshadowing for her route that are kind of flinchworthy in hindsight. In a good way. I don't really care much though.
Also, I have heard that the reason we're only getting a single season is that Grisaia will be a split cour. So the Michiru foreshadowing might not go to waste after all.
VN spoilers: Are you referring to the one about her having gone through a starvation phase? Well, they did keep the one about not eating meat but since they put her flashbacks in the first episode anyway, we don't need that much foreshadowing. More importantly, source please on the split cour?
The anime ending credits is good, though it somewhat gives a vague foreshadowing of some of the heroine's routes Makina stirring the mixture using a rifle(referencing the end of her route), Sachi rolling a bomb(referencing the fate of Mihama academy during her route), Makina being the joker(referencing what Yuuji said about the fates of being a genius), Sachi on the swing(referencing the playground of her childhood)
I'm thinking of dropping this. It's not just the bad subtext that Clarste mentioned, or the ugly panty shots. Something about the humour doesn't work. I feel it should, something similar to Nichijou, but it just feels awkward and cringeworthy. And it's not much to look at either, with drab backgrounds and stiff character models, despite good chibi scenes. That whole onee-sama thing felt like something I've seen played for comedy better more than once.
I was interested by a protagonist who is not a blank slate or a pervert, and a dark plot with hidden machinations, but it's just a different flavour of harem show.
Nice ED, though.
A blog that gets updated on a geological timescale.Speaking of which...
Episode 4. In which there's a route to a seaside cliff.
That looks like a rather bad running form.
I like those places too.
She's such a great liar.
She's obviously not a demon. She's clearly just an alien. Maybe a zombie, actually, considering the way she's walking.
The fierce duel between Chiru and Yumi was kind of different in the VN. Less silly.
She has this amazing ability of running her mouth while knowing absolutely nothing of what she speaks of.
More than credits roll.
I'm refraining from commenting on a bunch of stuff here. Spoilers and stuff.
Check out my fanfiction!Hm. Even more disjointed than usual, but my expectations for Michiru's route in the anime were already really low. Let's see if it manages to disappoint me even after taking that into account.
They had the boring Yumiko scared thing with Michiru but skipped the Yuuji and Sachi alien investigation? No taste, no taste at all.
Wait, are you telling me her eyes actually really do change color?
Hm. Looks like they skipped over a rather large subplot for Michiru's route.
Definitely worth your time. The anime cut out a lot of content and has been pretty crappy with pacing. Even the transitions are worse and they weren't that great to begin with. The VN common route is almost like a bunch of 4koma strips.
Also, I have no idea why they included the Michiru alien scene if they cut out not only all the funny parts but also didn't even bother to explain what she was doing.

^ Thing is, she always does that. If she's always leaving it to her other personality to actually do anything useful that kind of leaves her with no real redeeming characteristics.
