Interest. Post a character tomorrow, probably. Should warn that I know little to nothing of games after Diamond/Pearl, but I can look up anything relevant easily enough.
Look at my interest. LOOK AT IT!
GIVE ME YOUR FACETo start out, the updated type chart is really the only thing you need to know regarding stuff past G4; in addition to knowing of the new type and what mons were retconned to it, Steel also lost its resistance to Dark and Ghost. Other than that, you can pretty much just look up information as it comes.
And great to have you!

I'm quite interested, y'know? Very much so.
EDIT: Well, I filled this thing out now, I guess.
- Human Character
- Name: Evelyn Thorne
- Gender: Female
- Age: 16
- Appearance: Evelyn is a girl of average height with short strawberry blonde hair, light brown eyes, and a pale complexion. She usually wears fairly simple clothing, most often just a T-shirt and shorts. On days when she feels particularly unwell, she often doesn't change out of her pajamas at all. She always wears a metal bracer on her left arm as a precaution in case her Girafarig's tail tries to bite her.
- Backstory: Evelyn has lived in Pallet Town her whole life so far. From a young age, Evelyn has become sick very frequently. It's never anything serious, but she usually feels unwell about once a week. Because she's so used to this, she tends to goes about her daily life as usual when she's sick. She has wanted to become a Pokémon trainer for the past several years, but her parents have worried her illness could grow worse while traveling and they've refused to let her go until now.
- Personality: Evelyn is a very affectionate person, often hugging everyone she meets. When she's well, she's more often than not upbeat and cheerful. She's also fairly sarcastic, something that often goes unnoticed after a single meeting with her, as her snarky comments are often in the same bubbly tone as anything else. When she's not feeling well, she's noticeably less jovial and her snarkiness is more pronounced.
- First Pokémon
- Name: Hannah (Girafarig)
- Gender: Female
- Backstory: Hannah is the daughter of Evelyn's dad's Girafarig. She has helped take care of Evelyn from a young age. When Evelyn feels extremely weak, Hannah tends to carry her around. Evelyn has become closer to Hannah than most of her human friends over the years, and the two have shared a bedroom for as long as either can remember.
- Personality: Hannah is extremely protective of Evelyn and will do everything in her power to ensure that no harm comes to her. Hannah is extremely shy around most others. She also loves to run, but doesn't often get the chance to do so when caring for Evelyn.

I'm done here.I would probably be interested in this, but I'd like to wait and see whether it'll take off first.

Tastes better on the way back down. The fact that there's only one person here who didn't come from WAAPT is... Kinda disappointing. I was hoping for a little bit more diversity. :/

Interest here. I think this would be fun.
Wait! ... Ok, you can go now.Desdendelle: I'll keep it in mind.
Wordless: Great to have you!
Interested.
- Trainer
- Name: Toby Manchester
- Age: 16
- Gender: Male
- Apperance: Toby is slender, pale, and about at average height. He dresses in loose fitting blue t-shirts and grey shorts. He is always wearing his red headband. He has messy brown hair and green eyes.
- Personality: Toby is timid, shy, and is a bit skittish. He constantly struggles with trying to make himself appear manly despite his physical appearance and his own nature. He is afraid of not living up to his family name.
- Background: Third son of Antonio Manchester, of Manchester's Moving Co. His family lives in Pewter City, But he lives with his uncle for the time being in Pallet Town. He is been against the idea of becoming a trainer for a long time but in recent months has decided to do it instead. Toby is the runt of the litter in his family, which is troubling do to his families obsession with masculinity. Toby hopes to make his father proud by becoming a famous trainer.
- First Pokemon
- Name: Guts
- Species: Machop
- Background: In the Manchester family it is tradition for each son to be given a Machop of their very own when they turn Ten. Guts was given too Toby as an egg, and has been by his side ever since.
- Personality: Brave, outgoing, and adventurous. Guts is Toby's foil in personality. However both struggle with image related issues due too their family. Toby as the runt and Guts as the only Machop in a house of Machokes and Machamps. Guts cares for Toby like a brother rather than trainer. Despite this, Guts still resents Toby for some of his cowardice .

Intrigued.
Yeah, I'm pretty much totally interested in this by now.
Tastes better on the way back down.- Human
- Name: Alex Kuma
- Gender: Female, though people sometimes mistake her for a Male. Her personality doesn't help.
- Age: 17
- Appearance: Short black hair under a red baseball hat and green eyes. She wears a red hockey jersey with a large white number 9 on it and a simple pair of jeans with a pair of joggers. Her attire is what often gets her mistaken for a boy.
- Backstory: A native of Icirrus City, she grew up not really interested in the ice-bound theatrics of the local gym. Instead she took to the often times violent bloody ballet that is hockey and dreamed of going pro one day. Later on she found out that it wasn't the sport itself she liked, but the fighting. Thus she decided to become a pokemon trainer. Taking the fundamentals of hockey and applying them to training she is determined to become the 'Great One'.
- Personality: Extremely brash, arrogant and cocky. She constantly boasts about her prowess as a battler. Despite being confrontational she's also rather friendly amd very excitable.
- First Pokemon
- Name: Gordie (Cubchoo)
- Gender: Male
- Backstory: Was caught on Twist Mountain by Alex herself when she was young and has been her friend ever since. The reason he hasn't evolved yet is because it's only now that Alex has actually concentrated on training him as a pokemon rather then a hockey player. Gordie has been with Alex for a good chunk of his life and has grown close to her, to the point where she can get the gist of what he's saying through body language and gestures.
- Personality: Gordie is shy and cautious, in contrast to his trainer. However he is devoted to her amd wants to make her proud even if that requires him to rush in paws flailing. Like her trainer he's a big fam of hockey and other ice-based activities. Currently knows Icy Wind.
Okay, that's three fully-written signups by now. We can probably get the discussion thread rolling while any others that are going to get created do so, to get what little preparations are left before the RP starts.

I'm still interested, I've just been busy. I'll probably put a character up today, if not, then definitely tomorrow.
Noted. Glad to see you didn't just fade out of existence or something. :P
Ok, here's my sign-up.
- Name: James Rhoads
- Gender: Male
- Age: 16
- Appearance: A tall, well-built boy, with short blonde hair, blue eyes and a pair of glasses. He usually wears a shirt and dark brown jeans.
- Backstory: Lived most his in the city of Pastoria, leading a quiet, normal life. He often spent time working in the local pokemart, and exploring through the Great Marsh. He held a dream that he would be the one to catch the rarest and the most elusive Pokémon, and decided that the best way to do that is to travel around, to see the wondrous places in this world.
- Personality: A generally friendly guy, who tries to make the best out of a bad situation, but can get distracted with his own desires. He admires the courage and trust that people hold in the things they care about.
- Name: August (Shellos)
- Gender: East Sea (Male)
- Backstory: James found August near the local seafront, after the Shellos got lost wandering around the cliffs after dark. August was caught sometime afterward, after days of trying to get the Shellos to leave. They’ve been trainer and partner ever since.
- Personality: Very curious, and enjoys exploring everywhere he goes. He isn’t the smartest Pokémon around, but he holds a strong trust in James, and loves his company more than anything else.
Great to have you!
Now that we have at least five players starting out, I've got the new RP thread itself started. Feel free to jump in however! I'll leave signups open for Cats for when he gets his written, then close them until a later point.
I'll personally be using a script-based format for my posts, but anyone who prefers prose is entirely free to do so.

I actually don't think I'll be joining this after all. I'm not a fan of script-format writing, and I'm already pretty busy so I might not have time to post consistently. Sorry guys.
Okay, understood. We'll just keep it as it is and reopen it later, after it picks up a bit. Sorry we couldn't keep your interest.

Do I still have permission to create a character and jump in, should I ever feel like it?
Tastes better on the way back down. When it reopens, sure. It probably won't take long.
Main Thread: Here
Discussion Thread: Here
NOTE: Signups are closed temporarily, now that it's gotten big enough to start. They will reopen when it gets to a steady pace.
This is an interest check/signup thread for a Pokemon RP, if you couldn't guess from the title. The idea that sparked this, and thus is the basis of the plot, is: What if a Pokemon game spanned all six regions?
Although this is for the most part open for anyone, I will make note that, at least to start out with, I'd like a relatively small starting group (3-5 players aside from myself) whose characters are novice-level. However, as the RP goes on, it can open up to more and more people, with a greater range of experience. Players can write in either script format or prose; whichever feels most comfortable for you.
Regarding the characters themselves, their Pokemon should have at least a basic personality, just as their Trainers do, although whether they have nicknames or not is entirely up to you. Their first Pokemon doesn't necessarily have to be one of the Fire/Water/Grass trios, or even necessarily from the region we're starting in (which is Kanto); as long as none of a character's mons is a Legendary, it's more or less fair game. For example, my character, Trish, will be starting out with a Ralts because her father was from Hoenn. I'll go into my character more later; this was just to give an example. Anyway, although there is a natural language gap between humans and mons, it can be bridged by a Psychic-type acting as a passive translator or with limited telepathy granted by the mons' knowledge of Psychic-type moves.
As for the time frame of the RP, it'll take place just after the events of FRLG and ORAS. Until the latter games are released, though, mention of the events that happened there should be defaulted to those of Emerald; after they do, I'd suggest blending their plots with that of Emerald anyway for the sake of a single canon, but that can be discussed when Hoenn becomes more relevant in the RP itself.
It should be noted that the Fairy-type does exist in the context of this RP, and probably has for a decent while. So any Pokemon that would have the type does, before anyone asks. Also, while only four moves are allowed in any given battle at a time, Pokemon are not stuck with the same four; instead, you can choose which four to use out of their movepools on a battle-by-battle basis, as long as the mons using the moves are roughly at a point in their training to use them. Levels and stats won't be exact, although a good general assumption is that mons in this RP are a bit more durable than they would be in a Pokemon game. No one-shotting unless it's a severe difference, such as an Aggron attacking a Sunkern.
Anyway, there's no fancy signup procedure; all we need to know is a basic outline of your player character's identity (name, gender, appearance, approximate age, at least something of a backstory), their Pokemon's identity/s, and their personalities. For example:
Anyway, with that long-winded explanation out of the way, who's up for this? You don't even have to come up with a character yet; all we'll need first is an "I'm interested".
