Chapter 342: In which Cath shows just how cruel he can really be.
Cath Palug's basically a Straw Nihilist who thinks that the fact nothing lasts forever means there's no reason he shouldn't just devour all of it right now. As far as he's concerned, it's kinder to kill everyone immediately than to drag things out. He attempts to "prove" his point by trapping everyone in a Lotus-Eater Machine where they live out an entire lifetime only to watch everyone they love die around them. Meliodas and Arthur are the only ones who are able to break out of it.

I still don't understand the point of that pig.
