It's high noon! The memelord has spoken! Also, a marriage proposal while fighting the demon lord. That's how serious this fight is. (sorry but this is great comedy)

King's creepy grooming paid off.
Honestly, that was better than you all made it out to be. But, yeah, I really don't care about Escanor getting to show off anymore.
Something I've been thinking for awhile but... this series was never plotted well. That became much more obvious the longer it went on, but even looking back at the earlier stuff, the cracks were always there.
Man some beautiful spreadshots this chapter...... primarily the shot of the demon king overlooking the new battleground, the Sins spreadshot was pretty plain & that final page of Escanor looked dope regardless of his inconsequential showing off.
“It’s high noon”. Mofos pulling a Goddamn Mc Cree.

It's not terrible, sure. It's just.. hard to take seriously.
Yea, plotting is a big issue in this series. Too often there's a cool thing being built up before being thrown away. From the dark backstories of the Sins to the betrayal to the Commandments and Arthur.
Demon King: Wake me up inside.
I just saw someone call the demon king worse than even Kaguya and that it quite the lofty achievement
Nah, that's not really a fair comparison.
By screen time alone she kinda beats him in how threatening they are.
Yeah that's an insult fo Kaguya.
Look, at least Kaguya had some menace to her. The Demon King has had his ass kicked a lot
Between Kaguya, Acnologia, and the Demon King, who would you say is the worst final boss?

Demon King Acnologia.
The ultimate fusion. No one can stop their combined garbage.

Kaguya kinda came out of nowhere but was at least a major fight. Compared to that, the Demon King is kind of a joke, even though the character (IMHO) is much better. Don't know about the other one. In terms of which makes the most sense though, the Demon king is vastly superior to Kaguya. So.... it depends on your angle? Unless the third guy is objectively worse... what's his crime?

Mashima systematically destroying all the menance he built up woth Acnologia, giving him a half-assed, non-sensical motivation, giving him a goal he could have easily accomplished ten times over but didn't for some reason, and then having Natsu OHKO hkm with a big friendship punch.
The Demon King is a way better villain than Kaguya. But Kaguya had a much better fight, she actually felt powerful compared to the protagonists.
The last several opponents here have just been punching bags, and we have yet to see them land a good blow on the sins.
What is it with Kaguya and now Acnologia getting anime-only backstories...
Kaguya's basic backstory was kinda implied. And IIRC her anime backstory borrowed heavily from the myth her name came from.
Raws and some translations for the new chapter are out early.
Demon King beats the One.
Eh, they're more evenly matched but he survives the one minute. Escanor reactivated it at the end anyway and even stronger.
Well that's just rule-breaking.
Kaguyas anime backstory is also canon. Because even before she went cuckoo she was shown to just be well, very detachedand hard to gleamemotions from. They kinda imply she has a mental disorder of some kind.
Because all the other Okutsukis so far have been unashamedly Smug Snake Card-Carrying Villain.
Escannor literally tells Diane that they should stay back for no good reason. I guess he just didn't have enough time to shine till now.
And just when it looks like Demon King will accomplish something, Escannor just does a Limit Break.
Being Demon King is suffering.
Remember when Escanor considered Merlin his sun and he turned into Day Mode in the middle of the night? Yea. The rule was broken long, long ago.
Credit where credit is due, the demon king standing up to The One is giving him back some dignity. Conservation of dignity is still in effect, because Elisabeth has to stay back. You know, Bloody Ellie, the supreme goddess' daughter with super-duper healing power. Still, it's a good chapter, even if it looks to be the setup to escanor out-escanor-ing himself. I like the arrogance though, such as fighting by himself. It's peak pride and pride goeth before the fall and all that.
Hasn't this fight been going on for basically thirty chapters at this point?
